CAUTION: DO NOT USE THIS PROCEDURE TO SWAP VU PANELS BETWEEN AIRCRAFT. THIS PROCEDURE IS USED TO REMOVE AND INSTALL A VU PANEL ON AN AIRCRAFT. VU PANELS ARE NOT LINE REPLACEABLE UNITS (LRU).

1. Reason for the Job
Do the tests necessary to make sure that all the primary functions are operational after removal/installation of VU panel.
It is possible that your version of the panel does not have all of these functions. Do only the tests that are applicable to your version of the panel.

1.On overhead circuit breaker panel 49VU, open circuit breaker 5FN.
On left center instrument panel 401VU, on the standby horizon indicator:
  • The flag comes into view.
2.On the overhead panel:
  • On overhead control and indicator panel 21VU, push and hold the EMER GEN TEST pushbutton switch.
  • At the same time, on electrical panel 35VU, release the EXT PWR pushbutton switch.
  • The flag goes out of view in less than two minutes.
3.On the overhead panel:
  • On overhead control and indicator panel 21VU, release the EMER GEN TEST pushbutton switch.
  • On electrical panel 35VU, push the EXT PWR pushbutton switch.
  • The flag comes into view.
4.On overhead circuit breaker panel 49VU, close circuit breaker 5FN.
  • The flag goes out of view in less than two minutes.
