1. Reason for the Job
Refer to the MPD TASK: 316000-01
OPERATIONAL CHECK OF EFIS/ECAM SWITCHING FUNCTIONS:
- MANUAL DMC 1 + 2 TO DMC 3 SWITCHING
- MANUAL PFD/ND TRANSFER
- MANUAL ECAM/ND TRANSFER
- AUTOMATIC UPPER DU/LOWER DU TRANSFER
- AUTOMATIC PFD/ND TRANSFER
To make sure that these functions are correct :
  • Automatic PFD/ND Transfer
  • Manual PFD/ND Transfer
  • Manual ECAM/ND Transfer
  • Manual DMC1 and DMC2 to DMC3 switching
  • Automatic Upper DU/Lower DU Transfer.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002)
   (2) Do the EIS Start Procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001)
On the center pedestal, on the SWITCHING panel 8VU, make sure that the ATT HDG, AIR DATA, EIS DMC, ECAM/ND XFR selector switches are at NORM.

- set all the potentiometers to the center position.

A. Automatic PFD/ND Transfer
NOTE: This test is for the CAPT side. For the F/O side, use the indications between parentheses.
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the panel 301VU (500VU):

  • set the PFD potentiometer to OFF.
  • the PFD is stopped and the PFD image moves to the ND.
  • set the PFD potentiometer to the center position.
  • after some seconds, the images go to their initial configuration.

B. Manual PFD/ND Transfer
NOTE: This test is for to the CAPT side. For the F/O side, use the indications between parentheses.

RESULT
1.On the panel 301VU (500VU):

  • push then release the PFD/ND/XFR pushbutton switch.
  • on the PFD:
    * the ND image comes into view.
  • on the ND:
    * the PFD image comes into view.
  • push then release the PFD/ND/XFR pushbutton switch.
  • the PFD and ND images go to their initial position.

C. Manual ECAM/ND Transfer
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the center pedestal, on the SWITCHING panel 8VU:

  • set the ECAM/ND/XFR selector switch to CAPT.
  • on the lower ECAM DU:
    * the ENGINE/WARNING image comes into view. The system page comes into view on the CAPT ND.
  • on the upper ECAM DU:
    * the diagonal line comes into view.
  • set the ECAM/ND/XFR selector switch to F/O.
  • on the upper ECAM DU:
    * the ENGINE/WARNING image comes into view.
  • on the lower ECAM DU:
    * the diagonal line comes into view and the system image comes into view on the F/O ND.
  • set the ECAM/ND/XFR selector switch to NORM.
  • the DUs go to their initial configuration.

D. Manual DMC 1 and 2 to DMC 3 Switching
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the overhead C/B panel 49VU:

  • open the circuit breaker 10WT1.
  • the diagonal line comes into view on the upper ECAM DU and on the CAPT PFD and ND.
  • on the lower ECAM DU, the ENGINE WARNING image replaces the system image and shows this indication:
    * EIS DMC 1 FAULT
  • on the glareshield:
    * the MASTER CAUT lights come on.
  • you can hear the single chime.
2.On the center pedestal, on the SWITCHING panel 8VU:

  • set the EIS DMC selector switch to CAPT/3.
  • the diagonal line goes out of view and the DUs show their initial image.
3.On the panel 301VU:

  • push and release the PFD/ND/XFR pushbutton switch.
  • on the PFD and the ND, the images change position.
  • again push and release the PFD/ND/XFR pushbutton switch.
  • the DUs go to their initial configuration.
4.On the rear C/B breaker panel 121VU:

  • open the circuit breaker 10WT3.
  • the diagonal line comes into view on the upper ECAM DU and on the CAPT ND and PFD.
  • on the lower ECAM DU, the ENGINE WARNING image comes into view and shows the indication:
    * EIS DMC 1 FAULT
    * DMC 3 FAULT
5.On the rear C/B breaker panel 122VU:

  • open the circuit breaker 17XN1.
  • on the upper ECAM DU and on the CAPT PFD and ND:
    * the diagonal line goes out of view and the DUs show their image.
  • on the upper ECAM DU:
    * the ELEC AC BUS 1 FAULT indication comes into view
    * the EIS DMC 1 FAULT is still displayed
    * DMC 3 FAULT is not displayed any more.
6.On the panels 121VU and 122VU:

  • close the circuit breaker 10WT3 and then the 17XN1.
  • on the three DUs, the related images of each DU stay in view.
  • the ELEC AC BUS 1 FAULT goes out of view.
7.On the overhead C/B panel 49VU:

  • close the circuit breaker 10WT1.
  • on the Upper ECAM DU:
    * the EIS DMC 1 FAULT indication goes out of view
    * the MASTER CAUT light is off.
8.On the SWITCHING panel 8VU:

  • set the EIS DMC selector switch to NORM.
  • there is no change.
9.On the rear C/B panel 121VU:

  • open the circuit breaker 10WT2.
  • the diagonal line comes into view on the lower ECAM DU and on the F/O PFD and ND.
  • on the upper ECAM DU, the indication comes into view:
    * EIS DMC 2 FAULT
  • on the glareshield:
    * the MASTER CAUT lights come on.
  • you can hear the single chime.
10.On the SWITCHING panel 8VU:

  • set the EIS DMC selector switch to F/O/3.
  • the diagonal line goes out of view and the DUs show their image.
11.On the rear C/B panel 121VU:

  • close the circuit breaker 10WT2.
  • on the upper ECAM DU:
    * the EIS DMC 2 FAULT indication goes out of view.
    * the MASTER CAUT light is off.
12.On the SWITCHING panel 8VU:

  • set the EIS DMC selector switch to NORM.
  • there is no change.

E. Automatic Upper DU/Lower DU Transfer
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the center pedestal, on the ECAM control panel:

  • set the UPPER DISPLAY potentiometer to OFF.
  • the upper ECAM DU is stopped.
  • the ENGINE/WARNING image goes to the lower ECAM DU.
2.On the center pedestal, on the ECAM control panel:
  • set the UPPER DISPLAY potentiometer to ON
  • the display units go back to their initial configuration.
5. Close-up
Subtask 31-60-00-860-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Do the EIS Stop Procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002)
   (2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002)
   (3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
