WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT ALL THE CIRCUITS IN MAINTENANCE ARE ISOLATED BEFORE YOU SUPPLY ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE AIRCRAFT. UNWANTED ELECTRICAL POWER CAN BE DANGEROUS.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002)
   (2) On the center pedestal, on the SWITCHING panel 8VU, make sure that the selector switches are at NORM.
4. Procedure
Subtask 31-60-00-860-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Start-up of the Display Units.
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the CAPT lighting/LOUD SPEAKER control panel 301VU:

  • turn the PFD potentiometer to the center position.
  • after some seconds, the PFD image comes into view on the CAPT Primary Flight Display (PFD).
  • turn the ND potentiometer to the center position.
  • after some seconds, the ND image comes into view on the CAPT Navigation Display (ND).
2.On the F/O lighting/LOUD SPEAKER control panel 500VU:

  • turn the PFD potentiometer to the center position.
  • after some seconds, the PFD image comes into view on the F/O PFD.
  • turn the ND potentiometer to the center position.
  • after some seconds, the ND image comes into view on the F/O ND.
3.On the center pedestal, on the ECAM control panel:

  • turn the UPPER DISPLAY and the LOWER DISPLAY potentiometers to the center position.
  • after some seconds, the images come into view:
    * on the lower ECAM DU, the DOOR page comes into view.
    * the top part of the upper ECAM DU shows the engine parameters. The lower part of the DU shows a MEMO indication.
  • on the glareshield:
    * the MASTER WARN and MASTER CAUT lights are off.
NOTE: If the upper ECAM DU shows a warning and the lower ECAM DU shows a system image which is not the DOOR page:
do the procedure given in Para. 4.
4.If a warning occurs and if it is not necessary to repair the system (s) immediately:

  • on the ECAM control panel, push the CLR key until:
  • on the upper ECAM DU:
    * the warning indication goes out of view and a MEMO indication comes into view.
  • the MASTER WARN or MASTER CAUT lights go off.
  • the aural warning stops.
  • the DOOR system page comes into view.

A. Start-up of the Display Units.
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the CAPT lighting/LOUD SPEAKER control panel 301VU:

  • turn the PFD potentiometer to the center position.
  • on the CAPT PFD:
    * SELF TEST IN PROGRESS (MAX 40 SECONDS) comes into view, then the PFD image comes into view.
  • turn the ND potentiometer to the center position.
  • on the CAPT ND:
    * SELF TEST IN PROGRESS (MAX 40 SECONDS) comes into view, then the ND image comes into view.
2.On the F/O lighting/LOUD SPEAKER control panel 500VU:

  • turn the PFD potentiometer to the center position.
  • on the F/O PFD:
    * SELF TEST IN PROGRESS (MAX 40 SECONDS) comes into view, then the PFD image comes into view.
  • turn the ND potentiometer to the center position.
  • on the F/O ND:
    * SELF TEST IN PROGRESS (MAX 40 SECONDS) comes into view, then the ND image comes into view.
3.On the center pedestal, on the ECAM control panel:

  • turn the UPPER DISPLAY and the LOWER DISPLAY potentiometers to the center position.
  • after some seconds, the images come into view:
    * on the lower ECAM DU, the DOOR page comes into view.
    * the top part of the upper ECAM DU shows the engine parameters. The lower part of the DU shows a MEMO indication.
  • on the glareshield:
