OPERATIONAL CHECK OF CORRECT OPERATION OF EFIS AND ECAM DMC AUTOMATIC AND MANUAL TRANSFER
To make sure that these functions are correct:
  • Automatic PFD/ND Transfer
  • Manual PFD/ND Transfer
  • Manual ECAM/ND Transfer
  • Manual DMC1 and DMC2 to DMC3 Switching
  • Automatic SD/EWD Transfer

Subtask 31-60-00-860-092-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Do the EIS start procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (3) On the center pedestal, on SWITCHING panel 8VU, make sure that all the selector switches are in the NORM position.

- Set all the potentiometers to the center position.

A. Automatic PFD/ND Transfer
NOTE: This test is for the CAPT side. For the F/O side, you can use the indications between parentheses.
ACTION
RESULT
1.On panel 301VU (500VU):

  • Set the PFD potentiometer to OFF.
  • The PFD stops and the PFD image moves to the ND.
  • Set the PFD potentiometer to the center position.
  • The message SELF TEST IN PROGRESS (MAX 40 SECONDS) comes into view. The ND image then comes back on the PFD.

B. Manual PFD/ND Transfer
NOTE: This test is for to the CAPT side. For the F/O side, you can use the indications between parentheses.

1.On panel 301VU (500VU):

  • Push and release the PFD/ND/XFR pushbutton switch.
  • On the PFD:
    * The ND image comes into view.
  • On the ND:
    * The PFD image comes into view.
  • Push and release the PFD/ND/XFR pushbutton switch again.
  • The PFD and ND images go back to the initial positions.

C. Manual ECAM/ND Transfer
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the center pedestal, on SWITCHING panel 8VU:

  • Set the ECAM/ND/XFR selector switch to CAPT.
  • On the lower ECAM DU, the message "ECAM ON ND" comes into view and the system page comes into view on the CAPT ND.
  • Set the ECAM/ND/XFR selector switch to F/O.
  • On the lower ECAM DU, the message "ECAM ON ND" comes into view and the system page comes into view on the F/O ND.
  • Set the ECAM/ND/XFR selector switch to NORM.
  • The DUs go back to the initial configurations.

D. Manual Switching of DMC1 and DMC2 to DMC3
ACTION
RESULT
1.On overhead C/B panel 49VU:

  • Open circuit breaker 10WT1.
  • On the CAPT PFD and ND, the INVALID DATA message comes into view.
  • On the upper ECAM DU, the EIS DMC 1 FAULT indication comes into view.
  • On the glareshield, the MASTER CAUT lights come on.
  • You can hear a chime.
2.On the center pedestal, on SWITCHING panel 8VU:

  • Set the EIS DMC selector switch to CAPT 3.
  • On the CAPT PFD and ND, the INVALID DATA message goes out of view and the DUs show the initial images.
3.On the main instrument panel, on panel 301VU:

  • Push and release the PFD/ND XFR pushbutton switch.
  • On the PFD:
    * The ND image comes into view.
  • On the ND:
    * The PFD image comes into view.
  • Push and release the PFD/ND XFR pushbutton switch again.
  • The DUs go back to the initial configuration.
4.On rear C/B panel 121VU:

  • Open circuit breaker 10WT3.
  • On the CAPT ND and PFD, the INVALID DATA message comes into view.
  • On the upper ECAM DU, the indications that follow come into view:
    * EIS DMC 1 FAULT
    * --- DMC 3 FAULT.
5.On rear C/B panel 122VU:

  • Open circuit breaker 17XN1.
  • On the CAPT PFD and ND:
    * After approximately 35 seconds, the INVALID DATA message goes out of view and the DUs show the images.
  • On the upper ECAM DU:
    * The ELEC AC BUS 1 FAULT indication comes into view.
    * The EIS DMC 1 FAULT indication stays in view.
    * The DMC 3 FAULT indication goes out of view.
6.On rear C/B panels 121VU and 122VU:

  • Close circuit breaker 10WT3 and 17XN1.
  • On the DUs, the related image of each DU stays in view.
  • On the upper ECAM DU, the ELEC AC BUS 1 FAULT indication goes out of view.
7.On overhead C/B panel 49VU:

  • Close circuit breaker 10WT1.
  • On the upper ECAM DU:
    * After approximately 35 seconds, the EIS DMC 1 FAULT indication goes out of view.
  • On the glareshield, the MASTER CAUT lights go off.
8.On SWITCHING panel 8VU:

  • Set the EIS DMC selector switch to NORM.
  • There is no change.
9.On rear C/B panel 121VU:

  • Open circuit breaker 10WT2.
  • On the F/O PFD and ND, the INVALID DATA message comes into view.
  • On the upper ECAM DU, the EIS DMC 2 FAULT indication comes into view.
  • On the glareshield, the MASTER CAUT lights come on.
  • You can hear a chime.
10.On SWITCHING panel 8VU:

  • Set the EIS DMC selector switch to F/O 3.
  • On the F/O PFD and ND, the INVALID DATA message goes out of view and the DUs show the images.
11.On rear C/B panel 121VU:

  • Close circuit breaker 10WT2.
  • On the upper ECAM DU:
    * After approximately 35 seconds, the EIS DMC 2 FAULT indication goes out of view.
  • On the glareshield, the MASTER CAUT lights go off.
12.On the central pedestal, on SWITCHING panel 8VU:

  • Set the EIS DMC selector switch to NORM.
  • There is no change.
13.On ELEC panel 35VU:
  • Release the AC ESS FEED pushbutton switch.
  • Push the AC ESS FEED pushbutton switch.
On ELEC panel 35VU:
  • The ALTN legend of the AC ESS FEED pushbutton switch comes on.
  • The ALTN legend of the AC ESS FEED pushbutton switch goes off.
14.On the ECAM control panel:
  • Push the ELEC key to get the ELEC page.
On the lower ECAM DU:
  • The essential transformer rectifier does not supply the DC essential busbar (the normal configuration comes into view).
15.If the essential transformer rectifier continues to supply the DC essential busbar, on the aircraft power center, on rear C/B panel 123VU:
  • Open and close circuit breaker 1XC.
  • Make sure that the essential transformer rectifier does not supply the DC essential busbar.

E. Automatic Upper DU/Lower DU Transfer
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the center pedestal, on the ECAM control panel:

  • Set the upper display potentiometer to OFF.
  • The upper ECAM DU stops.
  • The ENGINE/WARNING image goes to the lower ECAM DU.
2.On the center pedestal, on the ECAM control panel:

  • Set the upper display potentiometer to ON.
  • The DUs go back to the initial configurations.

Subtask 31-60-00-869-074-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Do the EIS stop procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
   (2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
