   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) On the overhead panel 22VU, make sure that the FWD ISOL VALVE pushbutton switch is on (the OFF light is off).
   (3) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (4) Make sure that the ENGINE/WARNING page shows on the ECAM upper display unit.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

A. Test of the Cargo-Compartment Smoke-Detection System
   (1) Make sure that the SDCU is supplied with power for a minimum of one minute before you start the test.
NOTE: During the test, if the ECAM shows the messages that follow, you can ignore them:
  • CAB FANS...........OFF
  • .IF FWD CRG CLOSED:
  • .IF AFT CRG CLOSED:.
NOTE: If there is an overflow (more than 7 lines of the text) a special symbol (an arrow) comes into view at the bottom of the upper ECAM display unit. The scrolling of the message lines is controlled by the CLR key on the center pedestal of the ECAM control panel.
   (2) Do this test:

A. Test of the Cargo-Compartment Smoke-Detection System
   (1) The two CIDS-SDF channels and all cargo-compartment smoke detectors must be supplied with power for 30 seconds before you start the test.
NOTE: During the test, it is necessary to push the TEST button (16WH) with some force. If you push it too lightly, the unwanted ECAM warnings that follow can come into view:
  • FWD CARGO BTL 1 FAULT
  • AFT CARGO BTL 1 FAULT
  • FWD CARGO BTL 2 FAULT
  • AFT CARGO BTL 2 FAULT.
If a fault message occurs, it is necessary to do a reset of the SDF channels 1 and 2 (15WH, 18WH, 17WH and 14WH).
NOTE: During the test, if the ECAM shows the messages that follow, you can ignore them:
  • CAB FANS...........OFF
  • .IF FWD CRG CLOSED:
  • .IF AFT CRG CLOSED:.

A. Test of the Cargo-Compartment Smoke-Detection System
   (1) Supply power to the two CIDS-SDF channels and all the cargo-compartment smoke detectors for 30 seconds before you start the test.
NOTE: During the test, if the ECAM shows the messages that follow, you can ignore them:
  • CAB FANS...........OFF
  • IF FWD CRG CLOSED:
  • IF AFT CRG CLOSED:.
NOTE: If the messages have more than 7 lines of text, a special symbol (an arrow) comes into view at the bottom of the upper ECAM display-unit. The scrolling of the message lines is controlled by the CLR key on the center pedestal of the ECAM control panel.
NOTE: If only one of the two SDF channels operates, the smoke warnings/indications come on only one time.
   (2) Do the test that follows:
