WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT ALL THE CIRCUITS IN MAINTENANCE ARE ISOLATED BEFORE YOU SUPPLY ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE AIRCRAFT. UNWANTED ELECTRICAL POWER CAN BE DANGEROUS.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE CIRCUIT BREAKERS RELATED TO THE WEATHER RADAR ARE OPENED, SAFETIED AND TAGGED.
CAUTION: DO NOT OPERATE THE WIPERS WHEN THE WINDSHIELD IS DRY. PUT WATER ON THE WINDSHIELD WHEN THE WIPERS OPERATE.

E. Cleaning.
   (1) Make sure that the wiper blades are in the correct condition and clean the windshield before you operate the wipers.
   (2) Put water continuously on the windshield when the wipers operate during this procedure.

A. Do this test :

RESULT
On the WIPER section of the panel 21VU (22VU):
On the windshield :
1.Set the CAPT (F/O) WIPER selector switch to SLOW.
  • the wiper moves slowly
  • make sure that the blade does not touch the metal part in the middle of the windshield
  • make sure that the speed of the wiper is 95 strokes per minute + or - 15 percent
  • make sure that the wiper blade moves smoothly and continuously.
NOTE: If the motor is new, the first two strokes of the wiper (from the park position) do not always go full travel.
2.Set the CAPT (F/O) WIPER selector switch to FAST.
  • the wiper moves fast
  • make sure that the speed of the wiper is 140 strokes per minute + or - 15 percent
  • make sure that the wiper blade moves smoothly and continuously.
3.Set the CAPT (F/O) WIPER selector switch to OFF.
  • the wiper stops and moves to the park position.
