A. Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (2) Start the engine (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-003) or (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-004).
   (3) On the ANTI ICE section of the panel 25VU:
  • make sure that the ENG1(2) pushbutton switch is released (the FAULT and ON legends are off).

   (1) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (2) Start the engine (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-043) or (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-047).
   (3) On the ANTI ICE section of the overhead panel 25VU:
  • make sure that the ENG1(2) pushbutton switch is released (the FAULT and ON legends are off).

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (2) Start the engine (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-822) or (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-823) and keep the engine at minimum Idle.
   (3) On the ANTI ICE section of the overhead panel 25VU:
  • Make sure that the ENG1(2) pushbutton switch is released (FAULT and ON legends are off).

A. Operational Test of the Engine-Air-Intake Ice Protection
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the ANTI ICE section of the panel 25VU:
  • Push the ENG1(2) pushbutton switch.
On the ANTI ICE section of the panel 25VU, on the ENG 1(2) pushbutton switch:
  • The ON legend comes on.
  • The FAULT legend comes on for a short time during movement of the valve (the anti-ice valve of the engine air intake opens).
NOTE: When the anti-ice valve opens, the N2 value increases automatically by approximately 10% to supply the necessary pressure.
On the upper ECAM DU:
  • The ENG A.ICE message comes into view.
  • On the MEMO section, the IGNITION message comes into view.
2.On the ANTI ICE section of the panel 25VU:
  • Release the ENG1(2) pushbutton switch.
On the ANTI ICE section of the panel 25VU, on the ENG 1(2) pushbutton switch:
  • The ON legend goes off.
  • The FAULT legend comes on for a short time during movement of the valve (the anti-ice valve of the engine air intake closes).
    On the upper ECAM DU:
  • The message goes out of view.

1.On the ANTI ICE section of the panel 25VU:
  • push the ENG1(2) pushbutton switch
On the ANTI ICE section of the panel 25VU, on the ENG 1(2) pushbutton switch:
  • the ON legend comes on
  • the FAULT legend comes on for a short time during movement of the valve (the engine air-intake anti ice valve opens).
NOTE: If the valve does not open (FAULT legend stays on), increase N2 of the related engine by about 5%.
When the FAULT legend goes off, move the applicable throttle control-lever to IDLE position.

On the upper ECAM DU:
  • the ENG A.ICE message comes into view
  • on the MEMO section, the IGNITION message comes into view.
2.On the ANTI ICE section of the panel 25VU:
  • release the ENG1(2) pushbutton switch
On the ANTI ICE section of the panel 25VU, on the ENG 1(2) pushbutton switch:
  • the ON legend goes off
  • the FAULT legend comes on for a short time during movement of the valve (the engine air-intake anti ice valve closes).
    On the upper ECAM DU:
  • the messages go out of view.

   (1) Stop the engine (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-028).
   (2) Do the EIS stop procedure
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Stop the engine (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-018).
   (2) Do the EIS stop procedure
