C. Make sure that the aircraft is in the ground configuration.

D. Prepare the media.
(1) Get the media from the storage box in the cockpit.

NOTE: It is not mandatory to keep the database media in the storage box in the cockpit. Thus, you can keep the database media in the storage area.

(2) Make sure that the Part Number(s) (P/N) written on the media is(are) the same as the P/N(s) written in the airline configuration management-document.
(a) If the media is(are) not available or not the correct one(s), contact your airline engineering department to get the correct P/N(s) applicable to the aircraft.

D. Prepare the Software.
(1) Make sure that the software Part number(s) (P/N) is(are) the same as the P/N(s) written in the airline configuration-management document.
(2) If the software P/N(s) is(are) not available or not the correct one(s), contact your airline engineering department to get the correct P/N(s) applicable to the aircraft.

E. Check of the P/N(s) of the Software Component(s) (Pre-loaded to the Related FMGC)

NOTE: If the software component(s) that you upload is(are) not correct, the FMGC will not accept the uploading.

(1) If you upload the Flight Management System (FMS) operational-program software-component, upload these software components again:

The navigation database
The airline modifiable-information file (optional, it is only necessary to upload it again if customized)
The operational program-configuration file
The performance database.

(2) Do a check of the P/N(s) of the software component(s):

1.On the Multipurpose Control & Display Unit (MCDU): Adjust the brightness of the MCDU screen. Push the DATA mode key.
2.On the MCDU: Push the line select key adjacent to the "A/C STATUS" indication.	On the MCDU: The "A/C STATUS" page comes into view.
3.On the "A/C STATUS" page: Push the line select key adjacent to the "SOFTWARE STATUS/XLOAD" indication.	On the MCDU: The "P/N STATUS" page comes into view.

E. Check of the P/N(s) of the Software Component(s) (Pre-loaded to the Related FMGC)

NOTE: If the software component(s) that you upload is(are) not correct, the FMGC will not accept the uploading.

(1) If you upload the Flight Management System (FMS) operational-program software-component, upload these software components again:

The navigation database
The airline modifiable-information file (optional, it is only necessary to upload it again if customized)
The operational program-configuration file
The performance database
The magnetic variation database.

NOTE: On the Multipurpose Control & Display Unit (MCDU), if you push the FM mode key, the "NOT ALLOWED" message comes into view on the scratchpad:

(2) Do a check of the P/N(s) of the software component(s):

5.Before you do the uploading procedure, on the "P/N STATUS" page: Read the P/N of the software component that you want to upload. Do a check of the configuration of the software component that you want to upload. NOTE: If the P/N is the same, the uploading is not necessary.

4. Procedure

NOTE: When you use the Centralized Data Loading Connector (CDLC), you can do the uploading procedure at low or high speed.

Subtask 22-70-00-970-075-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Uploading of the FM Data to FMGC1(2)

NOTE: It is not possible to upload the FM data to FMGC2 with the high speed dataloading.

(1) Upload the FM data to FMGC1(2) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-38-00-610-804).
(2) For FMGC2(1), do the crossloading of the FM data (Ref. AMM TASK 22-70-00-610-009).
(3) After the uploading, do a check of the P/N(s) of the software component(s) uploaded to the FMGC, on the MCDU.

Subtask 22-70-00-970-075-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Uploading of the FM Data to FMGC1(2)

NOTE: It is not possible to upload the FM data to FMGC2 with the high speed dataloading.

(1) Upload the FM data to FMGC1(2) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-38-00-610-804).
(2) For FMGC2(1), do the crossloading of the FM data (Ref. AMM TASK 22-70-00-610-009).
(3) To do the crossloading procedure, wait until the FMGC1(2) crossloading prompt comes into view on the "P/N STATUS" page of MCDU1(2).

NOTE: The FMGC1(2) crossloading prompt comes into view only if all the mandatory software components (FMS software component, navigation database, FMS options-configuration software-component, performance database and magnetic variation database) are uploaded.

(4) After the uploading, do a check of the P/N(s) of the software component(s) uploaded to the FMGC, on the MCDU.

Subtask 22-70-00-280-080-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

B. Do a check of the P/N(s) of the software component(s) uploaded to the FMGC, on the MCDU.
(1) Do a reset of FMGC1 and FMGC2 as follows:
(a) Open circuit breakers 10CA1 and 10CA2 for more than 15 seconds.
(b) Close circuit breakers 10CA1 and 10CA2 and wait until the FMGC safety test is completed.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE SOFTWARE INSTALLED AGREES WITH THE AIRLINE CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT DOCUMENT. THE SYSTEM OPERATIONAL TEST OR BITE TEST DOES NOT DETECT INCORRECT SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION.

(2) Make sure that the "P/N XLOAD" page is shown on the MCDU.

ACTION	RESULT
1.On the "MCDU MENU" page: Push the line select key adjacent to the "FMGC" indication.	On the MCDU: The "A/C STATUS" page comes into view.
2.On the "A/C STATUS" page: Push the line select key adjacent to the "SOFTWARE STATUS/XLOAD" indication.	The "P/N STATUS" page comes into view.
3.On the "P/N STATUS" page: Get access to the page related to the uploaded software component (use the line select key adjacent to the "NEXT PAGE" or "PREV PAGE" indication).
4.On the MCDU: Make sure that the P/N shown is the same as the P/N written on the media.
5.Do the operational test of the Automatic Flight System (AFS) only after the uploading of the FMS operational-configuration software-component (Ref. AMM TASK 22-96-00-710-001).

Subtask 22-70-00-280-080-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE SOFTWARE INSTALLED AGREES WITH THE AIRLINE CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT DOCUMENT. THE SYSTEM OPERATIONAL TEST OR BITE TEST DOES NOT DETECT INCORRECT SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION.

(2) Make sure that the "P/N XLOAD" page is shown on the MCDU.

1.On the "MCDU MENU" page: Push the line select key adjacent to the "FMGC" indication.	On the MCDU: The "A/C STATUS" page comes into view.
2.On the "A/C STATUS" page: Push the line select key adjacent to the "SOFTWARE STATUS/XLOAD" indication.	The "P/N STATUS" page comes into view.
3.On the "P/N STATUS" page: Get access to the page(s) related to the uploaded software component(s) (use the line select key adjacent to the "NEXT PAGE" or "PREV PAGE" indication).
4.On the MCDU: Do a check of the configuration of the uploaded software component(s).
5.Do the operational test of the Automatic Flight System (AFS) only after the uploading of the FMS operational-configuration software-component (Ref. AMM TASK 22-96-00-710-001).

5. Close-up
Subtask 22-70-00-860-133-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) On the MCDU, push the MCDU MENU mode key to get access to the "MCDU MENU" page.
(2) Fully decrease the brightness of the MCDU screen (display off).
(3) Put the media back into the storage box in the cockpit.

NOTE: It is not mandatory to keep the database media in the storage box in the cockpit. Thus, you can keep the database media in the storage area.
