Operational Test of the Navigation Lights


WARNING: PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
  • THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
  • THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
  • THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
  • COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
MOVEMENT OF COMPONENTS CAN KILL OR CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.
WARNING: DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE LIGHT FLASH DURING THE TEST. SUPPLY A COVER, OR SHIELD, TO GIVE PROTECTION FROM THE LIGHT FLASH TO PERSONS IN THE TEST AREA.

   (1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
   (2) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) on the panel 25VU to tell persons not to operate the navigation lights or the strobe lights.

B. Energize the Electrical Circuits
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

A. Operational Test
   (1) Operational Test of the Navigation Lights
ACTION
RESULT
1. On the EXT LT control panel 25VU:
  • put the toggle switch NAV & LOGO (3LA) to the 1 position

  • the NAV 1 lamps of the navigation lights (9LA and 10LA) come on
  • the NAV 1 lamp of the navigation light (15LA) comes on
  • put the toggle switch NAV & LOGO (3LA) to the 2 position
  • the NAV 2 lamps of the navigation lights (9LA and 10LA) come on and the NAV 1 lamps go off
  • the NAV 2 lamp of the navigation light (15LA) comes on and the NAV 1 lamp goes off
  • put the toggle switch NAV & LOGO (3LA) to the OFF position.
  • the navigation lights (9LA, 10LA and 15LA) go off.

1. On the section EXT LT of the overhead control and indicating panel 25VU:
  • Put the toggle switch NAV & LOGO (3LA) to the 1 position.
  • The NAV 1 LEDs of the navigation light of the left wing tip (9LA) come on.
  • The NAV 1 LEDs of the navigation light of the right wing tip (10LA) come on.
  • The NAV 1 lamp of the rear navigation light (15LA) comes on.
2. On the section EXT LT of the overhead control and indicating panel 25VU:
  • Put the toggle switch NAV & LOGO (3LA) to the 2 position.
  • The NAV 1 LEDs of the navigation light of the left wing tip (9LA) go off.
  • The NAV 2 LEDs of the navigation light of the left wing tip (9LA) come on.
  • The NAV 1 LEDs of the navigation light of the right wing tip (10LA) go off.
  • The NAV 2 LEDs of the navigation light of the right wing tip (10LA) come on.
  • The NAV 1 lamp of the rear navigation light (15LA) goes off.
  • The NAV 2 lamp of the rear navigation light (15LA) comes on.
3. On the section EXT LT of the overhead control and indicating panel 25VU:
  • Put the toggle switch NAV & LOGO (3LA) to the OFF position.
  • The NAV 2 LEDs of the navigation light of the left wing tip (9LA) go off.
  • The NAV 2 LEDs of the navigation light of the right wing tip (10LA) go off.
  • The NAV 2 lamp of the rear navigation light (15LA) goes off.

A. De-energize the Electrical Circuits
   (1) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
Subtask 33-41-00-942-054-A
B. Removal of Equipment
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the safety barriers.
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
