A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

B. Get Access
(1) Open the forward cargo-compartment door 825 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Set the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 6LU to the ON position.
(3) Remove the sidewall panel 132MW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-000-003).

B. Get Access
(1) Open the forward cargo-compartment door 825 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Set the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 6LU to the ON position.
(3) Remove the sidewall panel 132SW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-000-003).

B. Get Access
(1) Open the aft cargo-compartment door 826 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Set the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU to the ON position.
(3) Remove the sidewall panel 162AW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-003).

B. Get Access
(1) Open the aft cargo-compartment door 826 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Set the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU to the ON position.
(3) Remove the partition panel 161DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-001).

B. Get Access
(1) Open aft-cargo compartment-door 826 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Set CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU to the ON position.
(3) Remove sidewall panel 162CW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-003).

B. Preparation for the Test

NOTE: For this test procedure, it is recommended that a minimum of two persons speak with each other through the service interphone system. One person to monitor cockpit overhead panel 22VU and the other person to be at zone 132.

(1) On the CAPT jack panel, connect the HEADSET 600 OHMS to the related connector.
(2) On overhead panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend on the SVCE INT OVRD pushbutton switch is off.
(3) In zone 132, connect the BOOMSET 600 OHMS to the service interphone jack.

WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE CARTRIDGE BEFORE YOU DO THE PROCEDURE APPLICABLE TO DEVICES THAT ARE SENSITIVE TO ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE. ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE CAN CAUSE THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER BOTTLE TO RELEASE ITS CONTENTS SUDDENLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.

(4) Make sure that you are grounded with the ELECTRICALLY GROUNDED WRIST STRAP.
(5) Disconnect the electrical connectors as follows:

WARNING: BEFORE YOU TOUCH THE POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE, MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE GROUNDED AND THAT YOU INSTALL A SHUNT DEVICE ON IT. USE A CAP OR PLUG AS SHUNT DEVICE (THE CAP OR PLUG WILL SHUNT THE PINS TOGETHER ON THE CARTRIDGE). DO NOT USE A FOIL SHUNT. IF YOU TOUCH A POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE THAT DOES NOT HAVE A SHUNT DEVICE INSTALLED, AN EXPLOSION CAN OCCUR AND CAUSE INJURIES TO YOU.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Disconnect electrical connector 4005 WX-A from cartridge 4001 WX.
Disconnect electrical connector 4005 WX-C from cartridge 4003 WX.

(b) Install the 10-101950-81 SHUNT PLUG-FIRE EXTINGUISHER CARTRIDGE,HTL on the cartridges.
(c) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(6) Use the TOOL-TEST.

B. Preparation for the Test

NOTE: For this test procedure, it is recommended that a minimum of two persons speak with each other through the service interphone system. One person to monitor cockpit overhead panel 22VU and the other person to be at zone 132 or 162.

(1) On the CAPT jack panel, connect the HEADSET 600 OHMS to the related connector.
(2) On overhead panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend on the SVCE INT OVRD pushbutton switch is off.
(3) In zone 132 or 162, connect the BOOMSET 600 OHMS to the service interphone jack.

WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE CARTRIDGE BEFORE YOU DO THE PROCEDURE APPLICABLE TO DEVICES THAT ARE SENSITIVE TO ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE. ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE CAN CAUSE THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER BOTTLE TO RELEASE ITS CONTENTS SUDDENLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.

(4) Make sure that you are grounded with the ELECTRICALLY GROUNDED WRIST STRAP.
(5) Disconnect the electrical connectors as follows:

(c) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.

(b) Install the 2-100831-1 PLUG-SHUNT on the cartridges.

NOTE: You can use the M83723-60-110AN PROTECTIVE CAP-FIRE EXTINGUISHER CARTRIDGE as an alternative to the 2-100831-1 PLUG-SHUNT.

(c) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(6) Use the TOOL-TEST.

NOTE: You can use the M83723-60-110AN PROTECTIVE CAP-FIRE EXTINGUISHER CARTRIDGE as an alternative to the 2-100831-1 PLUG-SHUNT.

(c) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(6) Use the TOOL-TEST.

USE A CAP OR PLUG AS SHUNT DEVICE (THE CAP OR PLUG WILL SHUNT THE PINS TOGETHER ON THE CARTRIDGE). DO NOT USE A FOIL SHUNT. IF YOU TOUCH A POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE THAT DOES NOT HAVE A SHUNT DEVICE INSTALLED, AN EXPLOSION CAN OCCUR AND CAUSE INJURIES TO YOU.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT ALL THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE DISCONNECTED FROM THE CARTRIDGES OF THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER BOTTLES BEFORE YOU DO THIS TEST. IF AN ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR IS CONNECTED, AN ACCIDENTAL EXPLOSION OF THE CARTRIDGE WILL OCCUR. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.

WARNING: BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS, IDENTIFY THEM. THEN, MAKE SURE THAT YOU DISCONNECT THE APPLICABLE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS. A DISCHARGE OF THE FIRE EXTINGUISHING BOTTLE WILL OCCUR IF: - YOU DISCONNECT THE PRESSURE SWITCH CONNECTOR INSTEAD OF THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR, AND - THE "AGENT" PUSHBUTTON SWITCH IS PUSHED. THE DISCHARGE OF THE FIRE EXTINGUISHING BOTTLE CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

CAUTION: BEFORE YOU USE THE TEST TOOL, MAKE SURE THAT EACH MULTIMETER IS CORRECTLY SET FOR THE NEXT STEP. FOR THAT STEP, MAKE SURE THAT: THE AMPERE RANGE ON EACH MULTIMETER IS CORRECT THE VOLTAGE RANGE ON EACH MULTIMETER IS CORRECT. 9.On the electrical connector 4005 WX-A: Remove the blanking cap and connect the TOOL-TEST.

D. Functional Test of the Firing Circuit Continuity

WARNING: BEFORE YOU TOUCH THE POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE, MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE GROUNDED AND THAT YOU INSTALL A SHUNT DEVICE ON IT. USE A CAP OR PLUG AS SHUNT DEVICE (THE CAP OR PLUG WILL SHUNT THE PINS TOGETHER ON THE CARTRIDGE). DO NOT USE A FOIL SHUNT. IF YOU TOUCH A POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE THAT DOES NOT HAVE A SHUNT DEVICE INSTALLED, AN EXPLOSION CAN OCCUR AND CAUSE INJURIES TO YOU.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT ALL THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE DISCONNECTED FROM THE CARTRIDGES OF THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER BOTTLES BEFORE YOU DO THIS TEST. IF AN ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR IS CONNECTED, AN ACCIDENTAL EXPLOSION OF THE CARTRIDGE WILL OCCUR. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.

WARNING: BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS, IDENTIFY THEM. THEN, MAKE SURE THAT YOU DISCONNECT THE APPLICABLE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS. D. Functional Test of the Firing Circuit Continuity

WARNING: BEFORE YOU TOUCH THE POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE, MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE GROUNDED AND THAT YOU INSTALL A SHUNT DEVICE ON IT. USE A CAP OR PLUG AS SHUNT DEVICE (THE CAP OR PLUG WILL SHUNT THE PINS TOGETHER ON THE CARTRIDGE). DO NOT USE A FOIL SHUNT. IF YOU TOUCH A POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE THAT DOES NOT HAVE A SHUNT DEVICE INSTALLED, AN EXPLOSION CAN OCCUR AND CAUSE INJURIES TO YOU.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT ALL THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE DISCONNECTED FROM THE CARTRIDGES OF THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER BOTTLES BEFORE YOU DO THIS TEST. IF AN ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR IS CONNECTED, AN ACCIDENTAL EXPLOSION OF THE CARTRIDGE WILL OCCUR. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.

WARNING: BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS, IDENTIFY THEM. THEN, MAKE SURE THAT YOU DISCONNECT THE APPLICABLE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS. A DISCHARGE OF THE FIRE EXTINGUISHING BOTTLE WILL OCCUR IF: - YOU DISCONNECT THE PRESSURE SWITCH CONNECTOR INSTEAD OF THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR, AND - THE "AGENT" PUSHBUTTON SWITCH IS PUSHED. F. After the Test Procedure

WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE CARTRIDGE BEFORE YOU DO THE PROCEDURE APPLICABLE TO DEVICES THAT ARE SENSITIVE TO ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE. ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE CAN CAUSE THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER BOTTLE TO RELEASE ITS CONTENTS SUDDENLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.

(1) Make sure that you are grounded with the ELECTRICALLY GROUNDED WRIST STRAP.
(2) Connect the electrical connectors as follows:

WARNING: BEFORE YOU TOUCH THE POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE, MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE GROUNDED AND THAT YOU INSTALL A SHUNT DEVICE ON IT. USE A CAP OR PLUG AS SHUNT DEVICE (THE CAP OR PLUG WILL SHUNT THE PINS TOGETHER ON THE CARTRIDGE). DO NOT USE A FOIL SHUNT. IF YOU TOUCH A POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE THAT DOES NOT HAVE A SHUNT DEVICE INSTALLED, AN EXPLOSION CAN OCCUR AND CAUSE INJURIES TO YOU.

(a) Remove the shunt devices from the cartridges.
(b) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

(c) Connect the electrical connectors to the cartridges as follows:

Electrical connector 4005WX-A to cartridge 4001WX
Electrical connector 4005WX-C to cartridge 4003WX.

(3) On the CAPT jack panel, disconnect the HEADSET 600 OHMS from the related connector.
(4) In zone 132, disconnect the BOOMSET 600 OHMS from the service interphone jack.

F. After the Test Procedure

WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE CARTRIDGE BEFORE YOU DO THE PROCEDURE APPLICABLE TO DEVICES THAT ARE SENSITIVE TO ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE. ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE CAN CAUSE THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER BOTTLE TO RELEASE ITS CONTENTS SUDDENLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.

(1) Make sure that you are grounded with the ELECTRICALLY GROUNDED WRIST STRAP.
(2) Connect the electrical connectors as follows:

(b) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

(c) Connect the electrical connectors to the cartridges as follows:

Electrical connector 4015WX-A to cartridge 4016WX
Electrical connector 4015WX-C to cartridge 4018WX.

(3) On the CAPT jack panel, disconnect the HEADSET 600 OHMS from the related connector.
(4) In zone 132 or 162, disconnect BOOMSET 600 OHMS from the service interphone jack.

G. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

(1) Do the operational test of the cargo-compartment smoke-detection system with the Push-To-Test (PTT) pushbutton switch (Ref. AMM TASK 26-16-00-710-001).

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the sidewall panel 132MW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-400-003).
(3) Set the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 6LU to the OFF position.
(4) Close the forward cargo-compartment door 825 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the sidewall panel 132SW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-400-003).
(3) Set the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 6LU to the OFF position.
(4) Close the forward cargo-compartment door 825 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the sidewall panel 162AW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-400-003).
(3) Set the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU to the OFF position.
(4) Close the aft cargo-compartment door 826 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the partition panel 161DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-400-001).
(3) Set the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU to the OFF position.
(4) Close the aft cargo-compartment door 826 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install sidewall panel 162CW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-400-003).
(3) Set CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU to the OFF position.
(4) Close aft-cargo compartment-door 826 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).

B. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
