Pressurize the Green Hydraulic System from the Yellow Hydraulic System through the PTU with the Electric Pump
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
WARNING:
PRESSURIZE ONLY THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM(S) THAT IS (ARE) NECESSARY FOR THE TASK. ISOLATE THE OTHER HYDRAULIC SYSTEM(S) BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER TO THE AIRCRAFT.
CAUTION:
DO NOT OPERATE THE ELECTRIC PUMP OR THE PTU IF THE SUPPLY OF HYDRAULIC FLUID IS NOT SUFFICIENT. MAKE SURE THAT THE RESERVOIRS HAVE SUFFICIENT AIR PRESSURE BEFORE YOU OPERATE THE PUMP/PTU.
NOTE: The simulation of in-flight conditions while Green and Yellow hydraulic systems are off can cause an inhibition of PTU. For data about the PTU function logic, refer to chapter SD 292300 00.
NOTE: You must know that the pressurizing of GREEN HYD SYS with PTU and Y EMP will not give you nominal hydraulic power and cause a pressure fluctuation in the hydraulic systems. Because of this, the systems can operate with less precision, less power and users can operate slower than necessary. For some systems, the flow rate of PTU is not sufficient to replace the hydraulic ground power cart.

A. Pressurization of the Green Hydraulic System from the Yellow Hydraulic System through the PTU with the Electric Pump
(1) On the panel 40VU push the YELLOW ELEC PUMP P/BSW.
(2) Make sure that the ECAM lower DU shows:
5. Close-up(1) On the panel 40VU push the YELLOW ELEC PUMP P/BSW.
(2) Make sure that the ECAM lower DU shows:
- the correct operation of the PTU,
- that the pressure of the Yellow hydraulic system is 3000 psi approximately,
- the pressure of the Green hydraulic system is 3000 psi approximately.
NOTE: The PTU pressurizes the system to a nominal pressure of 3000 psi, but if no consumers are operated the pressure is not constant. The PTU operates in a cycle which keeps the pressure in the Green hydraulic system between 2100 and 3150 psi.
