A. Safety Precautions
(1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
Subtask 28-21-00-860-051-B (1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(2) Do the EIS start procedure (ECAM only) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001), then:
4. ProcedureWARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT ALL THE CIRCUITS IN MAINTENANCE ARE ISOLATED BEFORE YOU SUPPLY ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE AIRCRAFT. UNWANTED ELECTRICAL POWER CAN BE DANGEROUS.
WARNING:
OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002). (2) Do the EIS start procedure (ECAM only) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001), then:
- on the ECAM control panel (CP), push (in) the FUEL pushbutton switch (P/BSW)
- make sure that the FUEL page shows on the ECAM lower Display Unit (DU).
WARNING:
WHEN YOU OPERATE THE FUEL PUMPS DURING A MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE, A MAINTENANCE PERSON MUST BE IN THE COCKPIT. THIS PERSON MUST STOP THE PUMPS WHEN THE LOW PRESSURE FAULT LIGHT(S) (ON PANEL 40VU) COME ON, TO PREVENT OPERATION OF THE PUMPS(S) WITHOUT FUEL ('DRY RUNNING'). OPERATION OF THE PUMPS WITHOUT FUEL CAN CAUSE A FIRE.
