(1) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the system.
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT) in position.

4. Procedure

A. Make sure visually that the wiper blade, the wiper arm, the stops for the wiper blade in the parking position and the lifting ramp are in the correct position. Make sure that the rubber of the wiper blade is not worn.

B. When the wiper is in the parking position on the windshields, the lower edge of the rubber block of the fitting that attaches the wiper blade to the wiper arm must be 8 +5 mm or -4.5 mm (0.31 +0.20 in. or -0.18 in.) from the closing panel.

C. Installation of the Spring Gage
(1) Put a GAGE - SPRING on the bolt that attaches the wiper blade to the wiper arm.
(2) Make sure that the wiper arm is parked in the center position of the windshield.

D. Make sure that the wiper moves off the surface of the windshield when you apply a force of 4.5 +0.1 -0.1 daN (10.1 +0.2 -0.2 lbf).
