A. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Clean the nose gear leg and the removed components with Non Aqueous Cleaner_- Methyl-Ethyl-Ketone - (Material No.08BBF1) and dry them with filtered compressed air.
   (2) Make sure that the spherical bearings of the structure move freely, if not, replace them.
   (3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (4) Make sure that all the identification plates and labels on the NLG are correctly installed and show the correct data AIPC 11-22-32- (Ref. AMM TASK 11-00-00-400-012).
   (5) Install the gear leg on the 98D32203504000 TROLLEY-NLG GROUND HANDLING.
   (6) Install the support of the 98D32203500000 TOOL-R I NLG.
   (7) Apply a thin layer of Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) to:
  • the trunnion shafts of the rotating rods
  • the trunnion pins (95)
  • the hinge pin (60)
  • the pin (32)
  • the spherical bearings
    This makes the installation easier.
NOTE: For lubricant grease specification and lubrication requirements, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).
   (8) Clean the attachment hardware with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and dry with filtered compressed air.
   (9) Apply a layer of Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to the threads of all nuts, screws, bolts and pins.
Subtask 32-21-11-420-073-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Installation of the NLG Leg Assy
   (1) Engage the nose gear leg in the nose gear well with the 98D32203504000 TROLLEY-NLG GROUND HANDLING.
   (2) Put the gear leg between the spherical bearings with the HOIST 500 KG (1100 LB).
   (3) Engage the trunnion pins (95) in the bearings and push the gear leg against one of the bearings.
   (4) On the opposite side, measure the clearance between the gear leg and the spherical bearing
   (5) Make a selection of two washers from the list that follows to get a clearance between 0.1 mm (0.0039 in.) and 0.2 mm (0.0079 in.)
   (6) Remove the trunnion pins (95).
   (7) Install new
AIPC 32-21-11-40-140 PACKINGS (82) or AIPC 32-21-11-60-140 PACKINGS (82) or AIPC 32-21-11-80-140 PACKINGS (82) on the grease ducts (81).
NOTE: Replace the packings (82) after each removal of the trunnion pins (95).
   (8) Install the grease ducts (81) in the trunnion pins (95). Install the bushings (80) in the trunnion pins (95).
   (9) Apply a thin layer of Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.
03HBD9) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) to the trunnion pins (95) and the washers (86).
NOTE: For lubricant grease specification and lubrication requirements, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).
