A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
   (2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are installed on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
   (3) On panel 400VU:
  • Make sure that the landing-gear control-lever is in the DOWN position
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
   (4) On panel 110VU, make sure that the GRAVITY GEAR EXTN handle is folded into the center console.

   (1) Open the MLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
   (2) Make sure that a 460005835 SLEEVE - GROUND LOCK is installed on each MLG door actuating cylinder (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-002).

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE CONTROLS AGREE WITH THE POSITION OF THE ITEMS THEY OPERATE BEFORE YOU PRESSURIZE A HYDRAULIC SYSTEM. UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF HYDRAULICALLY OPERATED ITEMS CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Pressurize the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001).

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE LANDING GEAR ARE CLEAR.
A. Functional Test of the Normal Extension and Retraction of the Nose Landing Gear
NOTE: During the test the ECAM will show unwanted indications, which you can ignore.
NOTE: During this test make sure that the ECAM upper display does not show the message L/G LGCIU 1 (2) FAULT.
   (1) Do this test:

1.On panel 400VU:
  • Make sure that the landing-gear control-lever is in DOWN position.
On panel 402VU:
  • The LDG GEAR down and locked lights are on (green)
2.On the ECAM CP:
  • Push the WHEELS pushbutton switch (P/BSW).
On the ECAM lower DU:
  • The NLG door symbol shows the closed and locked position (green)
  • The landing gear systems 1 and 2 symbols show the down and locked position (green).
3.On panel 400VU:
  • Move the landing-gear control-lever to the UP position.
On panel 402VU:
  • The NLG LDG GEAR UNLK light comes on (red).

On the ECAM lower DU:
  • The NLG door symbol shows the closed and locked position (green)
  • The L/G CTL caption comes into view (amber).

On the aircraft:
  • The NLG doors start to open.

On the ECAM lower DU:
  • The NLG door symbol moves to the middle position (amber).

On the aircraft:
  • The NLG doors are fully open

On the ECAM lower DU:
  • The NLG door symbol shows the open position (amber).

On the aircraft:
  • The NLG starts to retract.

On panel 402VU:
  • The NLG LDG GEAR down and locked light goes off.

On the ECAM lower DU:
  • The NLG landing gear systems 1 and 2 symbols change color (red).

On the aircraft:
  • The NLG is retracted and locked up.

On panel 402VU:
  • The NLG LDG GEAR UNLK light goes off.

On the ECAM lower DU:
  • The NLG landing gear systems 1 and 2 symbols go out view.
4.On the aircraft:
  • Close the MLG uplocks.
NOTE: If it is necessary to close the NLG doors during the test, you must:
  • Use an applicable ROD - NON METALLIC to close the MLG leg uplocks.
  • Do this procedure for each retraction sequence that you will do.
On the ECAM lower DU:
  • The L/G CTL caption goes out of view.

On the aircraft:
  • The NLG doors start to close.

On the ECAM lower DU:
  • The NLG door symbols move to the middle position (amber).

On the aircraft:
  • The NLG doors are closed and locked up.

On the ECAM lower DU:
  • The NLG door symbols show the closed and locked position (green).
5.On panel 400VU:
  • Move the landing-gear control-lever to the DOWN position.
On panel 402VU:
  • The NLG LDG GEAR UNLK lights come on (red).

On the ECAM lower DU:
  • The L/G CTL caption comes into view (amber).

On the aircraft:
  • The NLG doors start to open.

On the ECAM lower DU:
  • The NLG door symbols move to the middle position (amber).

On the aircraft:
  • The NLG doors are fully open

On the ECAM lower DU:
  • The NLG symbols show the open position (amber)

On the aircraft:
  • The NLG starts to extend.

On the ECAM lower DU:
  • The NLG landing gear systems 1 and 2 symbols come into view (red).

On the aircraft:
  • The NLG is down and locked.

On panel 402VU:
  • The NLG GEAR UNLK light goes off (red)
  • The NLG LDG GEAR down and locked light comes on (green).

On the ECAM lower DU:
  • The L/G CTL caption goes out of view
  • The NLG landing gear systems 1 and 2 symbols change color (green).

On the aircraft:
  • The NLG doors start to close.

On the ECAM lower DU:
  • The NLG door symbol moves to the middle position (amber).

On the aircraft:
  • The NLG doors are closed and locked up.

On the ECAM lower DU:
  • The NLG door symbols show the closed and locked position (green)
  • The NLG landing gear systems 1 and 2 symbols show the down and locked position (green).
   (2) Do the test procedure again. This is to make sure that the two LGCIUs operate correctly.

A. Depressurize the Hydraulic System
   (1) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).

   (1) Make sure that the MLG uplocks are open.
   (2) Do the EIS stop procedure
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
   (3) Remove and discard the TIE WRAP(S).
   (4) Remove the 98F32304000000 TARGET-FALSE from:
  • Left MLG extension proximity-sensors 21GA and 23GA
  • Right MLG extension proximity-sensors 20GA and 22GA.
   (5) Install the D23080000 PIN-GROUND LOCK,NLG in the NLG (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).

   (1) Put the aircraft back to the ground configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-002).

   (1) Lower the aircraft off the jack at the forward jacking point (Ref. AMM TASK 07-11-00-586-001).

   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
