Flight Configuration Precautions with Electrical Power

TASK 32-00-00-860-001-A
Flight Configuration Precautions with Electrical Power

WARNING: PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
  • THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
  • THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
  • THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
  • COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
MOVEMENT OF COMPONENTS CAN KILL OR CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
1. Reason for the Job
To prevent damage to the anti-ice heat elements:
  • When the LGCIU 1 or LGCIU 2 circuit breakers are open
    or
  • When the A/C is lifted on jacks.
To isolate other circuits to prevent flight configuration when you do maintenance tasks on the A/C.
NOTE: Do this task only if electrical power is necessary for subsequent maintenance tasks. If electrical power is not necessary, do the Flight Configuration Precautions without Electrical Power procedure (Ref. TASK 32-00-00-860-001-A-01).

B. Reconfigure the Avionics Compartment Ventilation System
CAUTION: DO NOT PUT THE AIRCRAFT BACK TO THE GROUND CONFIGURATION WHILE THE AVIONICS-COMPARTMENT VENTILATION SYSTEM IS RECONFIGURED. IF YOU DO, THERE IS A RISK THAT THE EQUIPMENT IN THE AVIONICS COMPARTMENT WILL BECOME TOO HOT.
   (1) Do the configuration of the avionics-compartment ventilation system (Ref. AMM TASK 21-26-00-860-001).
NOTE: The flight configuration precautions are complete and electrical power can be put back without damage to the anti-ice heat elements.
   (2) To put power back to the aircraft, do one of the two steps that follow:
     (a) On ELEC panel 35VU, push the EXT PWR pushbutton switch:
  • The AVAIL legend goes off.
     (b) On panel 2000VU, set the MAINT BUS switch to the ON position.
   (3) On ELEC panel 35VU, push in the BAT1 and BAT2 pushbutton switches:
  • The OFF legends go off.
   (4) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
Subtask 32-00-00-869-054-A
C. Put the Aircraft Back to the Ground Configuration
   (1) When you have done the maintenance tasks necessary, do the ground configuration after flight configuration with electrical power procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-002).
