Lifting of the Aircraft at the Forward Jacking Point, MLG Wheels on the Ground
WARNING:
BEFORE YOU LIFT THE AIRCRAFT WITH JACKS, MAKE SURE THAT THE WEIGHT OF THE FUEL IS EQUAL ON THE TWO SIDES OF THE AIRCRAFT CENTERLINE.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE AIRCRAFT IS STABLE:
- BEFORE YOU PUT IT ON JACKS
- DURING ALL THE TIME IT STAYS ON JACKS.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.
WARNING:
WHEN YOU DO THE LEVELING/LIFTING OR LOWERING OF THE AIRCRAFT, MAKE SURE THAT:
- YOU USE THE CORRECT LIFTING/LOWERING EQUIPMENT FOR THE CONDITIONS
- THE PERSONS WHO OPERATE THE LIFTING/LOWERING EQUIPMENT HAVE THE CORRECT TRAINING AND KNOWLEDGE
- THE NECESSARY SAFETY AREA IS IDENTIFIED
- THERE ARE NO UNWANTED PERSONS OR EQUIPMENT IN THIS AREA
- THERE IS NO WORK IN PROGRESS ON THE AIRCRAFT.
CAUTION:
YOU MUST NOT LIFT THE AIRCRAFT WITH THE SAFETY STAY.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) Before the lifting operation, identify a safety area.
(3) Make sure that the aircraft is parked on a flat surface.
(4) Make sure that the CHOCK - WHEEL(S) are in position adjacent to the Main Landing Gear (MLG) wheels.
Subtask 07-11-00-865-057-A (1) Before the lifting operation, identify a safety area.
NOTE: Local safety regulations can contain additional rules and information applicable to safety areas.
(2) Make sure that the safety devices are installed on the landing gears (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001). (3) Make sure that the aircraft is parked on a flat surface.
(4) Make sure that the CHOCK - WHEEL(S) are in position adjacent to the Main Landing Gear (MLG) wheels.
- Make sure that there is a clearance of approximately 25 mm (0.98 in.) between the forward chocks and the MLG wheels.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU OPEN THESE CIRCUIT BREAKERS BEFORE YOU LIFT THE AIRCRAFT. THIS WILL PREVENT MOVEMENT OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS. MOVEMENT OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT OR EQUIPMENT.

(1) Selection of the jack and the safety stay:
Jacking point heights are minimum values, you must use these values to select the applicable jack for the necessary aircraft configuration.
You must lift the aircraft at the forward fuselage at FR8.
When the aircraft is on jack, put a safety stay between FR73 and FR74. This prevents the accidental movement of the aircraft.
You must not use the safety stay to lift the aircraft.
You can lift the aircraft with jack when the tires and the shock absorbers are deflated.
The jack load capacity must be higher than the maximum permitted structural load given in the below step "Reaction at the jacking point and the safety stay".
(a) Maximum fitting load:
Make sure that you do not apply more than the permitted load at the forward jacking point and at the safety stay fitting:

CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE LOAD ON THE JACKS IS NOT MORE THAN THE MAXIMUM LOAD SPECIFIED IN THIS PROCEDURE.
CAUTION:
WHEN YOU LIFT THE AIRCRAFT ON JACKS OUTDOORS, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY THE JACK OVERLOAD LIMIT IN WIND CONDITIONS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS LIMIT, DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE AND/OR THE JACKS CAN OCCUR.
(2) Reaction at the jacking point and the safety stay:(a) Maximum fitting load:
Make sure that you do not apply more than the permitted load at the forward jacking point and at the safety stay fitting:
- The permitted load at the forward jacking point, at FR8 is 6800 daN (15287 lbf).
- The permitted load at the safety stay point, between FR73 and FR74 is 2000 daN (4496 lbf).
- The load on the fitting must be measured by the load cell installed between the forward jack and the fitting.
- The load on the safety stay must be measured by the 98D07103000000 DYNAMOMETER-SAFETY STAY installed between the safety stay and the fitting.
NOTE: The load cell and the 98D07103000000 DYNAMOMETER-SAFETY STAY installation procedure is given in the drawing 98D07103002000 NOSE JACKING SA.
D. Preparation of the Aircraft
(2) Before the lifting, make sure that the aircraft is stable (wheels on the ground) (Ref. AMM TASK 05-57-00-200-001).
(3) If necessary, put a load cell between the jack and the forward jacking point.
(5) On the panel 110VU:
Subtask 07-11-00-820-051-A CAUTION:
BE CAREFUL IF ONLY ONE ENGINE IS INSTALLED. IT IS NOT PERMITTED TO LIFT THE AIRCRAFT AT THE NOSE JACKING POINT ONLY.
(1) If the engines are not installed on the aircraft, do a full refueling of the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-003). (2) Before the lifting, make sure that the aircraft is stable (wheels on the ground) (Ref. AMM TASK 05-57-00-200-001).
(3) If necessary, put a load cell between the jack and the forward jacking point.
NOTE: If the jack has a load indicator, the load cell is not necessary.
When you use a load cell: - Make sure that the load cell capacity is more than the permitted fitting load.
- The load cell must have a centering hole to prevent lateral movement during the jacking.
(5) On the panel 110VU:
- Set the PARKING BRK control-switch to OFF.
E. Installation of Tools
(1) Examine the 98D07103500000 JACK ADAPTER-FUSELAGE (1) and make sure that there is no damage.
(2) Install the 98D07103500000 JACK ADAPTER-FUSELAGE (1) on the forward jacking point at FR8.
(4) For the typical installation of the jacks, the adapters and the load cells, refer to the drawing 98D07103002000 NOSE JACKING SA.
