Flight Configuration Precautions without Electrical Power


WARNING: PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
  • THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
  • THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
  • THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
  • COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
MOVEMENT OF COMPONENTS CAN KILL OR CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.
1. Reason for the Job
To isolate electrical power to prevent flight configuration when you do maintenance tasks on the A/C.
NOTE: Do this task only if electrical power is not necessary for subsequent maintenance tasks. If electrical power is necessary, do the Flight Configuration Precautions with Electrical Power procedure (Ref. TASK 32-00-00-860-001-A).

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On the ELEC panel 35VU, set the EXT PWR pushbutton switch to the OFF position.
   (2) On the panel 2000VU, set the MAINT BUS switch to the OFF position.
NOTE: The aircraft electrical system is isolated to prevent flight configuration.

B. Put the Aircraft Back to the Ground Configuration
   (1) When you have done the maintenance tasks necessary, do the ground configuration after flight configuration without electrical power procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-002).
