Installation of the Swivel Selector Valve

WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE LANDING GEAR ARE CLEAR.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2) Make sure that the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) Make sure that the nose landing-gear doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).
(4) Make sure that the access platform is in position in zone 123.
(5) Make sure that a container is in position below the rotating joint.
(6) Make sure that the safety barriers are in position.
(7) Make sure that the warning notice is in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
(8) Make sure that the warning notices are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:

(3) Make sure that the nose landing-gear doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).
(4) Make sure that the access platform is in position in zone 123.
(5) Make sure that a container is in position below the rotating joint.

A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the connection components with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and dry them with dry filtered compressed-air.
(2) Apply a light coat of Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to the threads of all the nuts, screws and bolts
(3) Apply a thin coat of Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) on the fasteners and on the shaft (15).
Subtask 32-51-15-640-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Clean the connection components with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and dry them with dry filtered compressed-air.
(2) Apply a light coat of Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to the threads of all the nuts, screws and bolts

NOTE: For lubricant grease specification and lubrication requirements, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).
A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the component interfaces and/or the adjacent areas with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and dry them with dry filtered compressed-air.
(2) Do a visual inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(4) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) or Mineral Oil base Grease-Anti-seize Lithium Thickened System (Material No.03FCC2) or Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Hydraulic (Material No.06LDG6) on the bolt (17) and the washer (16).
(5) Apply Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) or Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the bolt (7) and the nut (4).
Subtask 32-51-15-420-051-E (1) Clean the component interfaces and/or the adjacent areas with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and dry them with dry filtered compressed-air.

(5) Apply Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) or Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the bolt (7) and the nut (4).
NOTE: For lubricant grease specification and lubrication requirements, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).
B. Installation of the Swivel Selector valve
(2) Install the washer (14) and the nut (13).
(3) Turn the bell crank (8) until you can install the shouldered bush (6) and the bolt (7).
(4) Install the nut (4) and tighten it.
(5) Safety the nut (4) with the new AIPC 32-21-01-07-010 COTTER PIN (3) or AIPC 32-21-81-07-010 COTTER PIN (3).
(6) TORQUE the nut (13) to between 0.75 and 0.60 m.daN (66.37 and 53.10 lbf.in )

(7) Safety the nut (13) with the new AIPC 32-51-01-20-010 COTTER PIN (12).
(8) Connect the hydraulic couplings (1), (2), (10) and (11) as follows:
(a) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.

(d) TORQUE the hydraulic couplings (10) and (11) to between 2.64 and 2.35 m.daN (19.47 and 17.33 lbf.ft )

(e) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
(9) Remove the CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL).
(10) Apply Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No.12ACB1) on:
Subtask 32-51-15-720-050-A WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
(1) Put the swivel selector valve (9) in position and install the washer (16) and the bolt (17).(2) Install the washer (14) and the nut (13).
(3) Turn the bell crank (8) until you can install the shouldered bush (6) and the bolt (7).
(4) Install the nut (4) and tighten it.
(5) Safety the nut (4) with the new AIPC 32-21-01-07-010 COTTER PIN (3) or AIPC 32-21-81-07-010 COTTER PIN (3).
(6) TORQUE the nut (13) to between 0.75 and 0.60 m.daN (66.37 and 53.10 lbf.in )
.(7) Safety the nut (13) with the new AIPC 32-51-01-20-010 COTTER PIN (12).
(8) Connect the hydraulic couplings (1), (2), (10) and (11) as follows:
(a) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU CONNECT THE HYDRAULIC LINES CORRECTLY. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
(b) Refer to the marks made during the removal to find the correct installation position and connect the:- Hydraulic couplings (1), (2), (10) and (11) to the swivel selector valve (9).
.(d) TORQUE the hydraulic couplings (10) and (11) to between 2.64 and 2.35 m.daN (19.47 and 17.33 lbf.ft )
.(e) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
(9) Remove the CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL).
(10) Apply Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No.12ACB1) on:
- The head of the bolt (7).
- The nut (4).
C. Test
(1) Do a functional test of the nose wheel steering (Ref. AMM TASK 32-51-00-720-003).
(2) During this functional test, make sure that there are no leaks at the swivel selector valve connections.
5. Close-up(1) Do a functional test of the nose wheel steering (Ref. AMM TASK 32-51-00-720-003).
(2) During this functional test, make sure that there are no leaks at the swivel selector valve connections.

A. Close Access
(1) Remove the access platform(s).
(2) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Close the nose landing-gear doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-410-001).
