MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

Subtask 32-49-51-860-054-A
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position:
(3) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
(4) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are de-energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(5) Make sure that the aircraft is lifted with jacks until the wheels are off the ground (Ref. AMM TASK 07-11-00-581-001).
(6) Make sure that the NLG wheels are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 32-41-12-000-001).
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position:
- In the cockpit, on the right center instrument panel 400VU to tell persons not to operate the landing gear control lever.
- On the steering handwheel (CAPT and F/O) and on the brake pedals to tell persons not to operate them.
(3) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
(4) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are de-energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(5) Make sure that the aircraft is lifted with jacks until the wheels are off the ground (Ref. AMM TASK 07-11-00-581-001).
(6) Make sure that the NLG wheels are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 32-41-12-000-001).
Subtask 32-49-51-420-052-A
A. Installation of the Non-TPIS Kit
(1) Seal the TPIS harness installation-hole in the shock absorber:
(a) Install the plug (22) in the shock absorber.
(b) Install the washer (21) and the bolt (18).
(c) Install the second washer (21) and the nut (20).
(d) TORQUE the nut (20) to between 0.75 and 0.6 m.daN (66.37 and 53.10 lbf.in )
.
(e) Tighten the nut (20).
(f) Install the new AIPC 32-21-11-32-050 COTTER PIN (19) or AIPC 32-21-11-03-040 COTTER PIN (19) to safety the nut (20).
(g) Apply a bead of Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Quick Curing - (Material No.06ABF1) at the junction of the plug (22) and the shock absorber.
(2) Installation of the bushes (27) on each side of the wheel axle:
(a) Install the bushes (27) at the wheel axle ends.
(b) Install the four new AIPC 32-21-13-12-090 BOLTS (26) or AIPC 32-21-13-22-090 BOLTS (26) from the inside of the wheel axle ends.
(c) Install the four washers (25), and the four nuts (24).
(d) Safety the four nuts (24) with the new AIPC 32-21-13-12-060 COTTER PINS (23) or AIPC 32-21-13-22-060 COTTER PINS (23).
(3) Disconnect the rod (28).
(a) Remove and discard the cotter pin (29).
(b) Remove the nut (30), the washer (31) and the bolt (33).
(c) Disconnect the rod (28) from the support (32).
(4) Remove the casing (9).
(a) Release and remove the screw (11).
(b) Remove and discard the lockwasher (12).
(c) Lift the casing (9) and disengage it from the pin (13).
(d) Remove the casing (9).
(5) Install the blanking cap (15) in the torque link pin (14) of the leg structure:
(a) Remove and discard the nut (16).
(b) Remove the washer (17) from the pin (13).
(c) Remove the pin (13).
(d) Install the blanking cap (15) in the torque link pin (14).
(e) Clean the pin (13) with Non Aqueous Cleaner_- Methyl-Ethyl-Ketone - (Material No.08BBF1) and dry it with a AIR SOURCE 0.3 TO 0.7 BAR (5 TO 10 PSI)- FILTERED, DRY.
(f) Apply a thin layer of Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) on the pin (13).
(g) Align the holes with the tool J47125 and install the pin (13).
(h) Install the washer (17) and the new AIPC 32-21-11-43-010 NUT (16) or AIPC 32-21-11-23-010 NUT (16).
(i) Tighten the nut (16).
(j) Apply a bead of Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Brushable - (Material No.06ABA1) on the interface between the pin (13) and the gear leg.
(k) Put the casing (9) in position on the pin (13).
(l) Install the screw (11) and the new lockwasher (12).
(m) Tighten the screw (11) and safety it with the lockwasher (12).
(n) Apply a bead of Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Brushable - (Material No.06ABA1) around the nut (16).
(6) Install the bolt (10):
(a) Single-linkage version:
1 Put the lockwasher (4) on the bolt (10).
2 Put the spacer (5) on the bolt (10).
3 Engage the bolt (10) through the casing (9), the barrel and the other side of the casing (9).
4 Install the second spacer (5), the washer (7) and the new AIPC 32-21-11-51-080 NUT (6) or AIPC 32-21-11-11-050 NUT (6) on the bolt (10).
5 TORQUE the nut (6) to between 0.7 and 0.6 m.daN (61.95 and 53.10 lbf.in )

6 Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Brushable - (Material No.06ABA1) on the washer (4) the nut (6) and on the thread of the bolt (10).
(b) Dual-linkage version:
1 Put the lock washer (4) and the spacers (5) and (8) on the bolt (10).
2 Engage the bolt (10) through the casing (9), the barrel and the other side of the casing (9).
3 Install the second spacer (5), the second spacer (8), the washer (7) and the new AIPC 32-21-11-51-080 NUT (6) or AIPC 32-21-11-11-050 NUT (6) on the bolt (10).
4 TORQUE the nut (6) to between 0.7 and 0.6 m.daN (61.95 and 53.10 lbf.in )

5 Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Brushable - (Material No.06ABA1) on the washer (4), the nut (6) and on the thread of the bolt (10).
(7) Connect the rod (28).
(a) Connect the rod (28) to the support (32).
(b) Install the bolt (33), the washer (31) and the nut (30)
(c) TORQUE the nut (30) to between 0.75 and 0.6 m.daN (66.37 and 53.10 lbf.in )
and safety it with the new cotter pin (29).
(d) Tighten the nut (30) and safety it with the new AIPC 32-21-11-52-080 COTTER PIN (29) or AIPC 32-21-11-12-080 COTTER PIN (29).
(8) Installation of the plug (3) on the 701VC connector of the 1M upper electrical harness:
(a) Remove the blanking cap from the electrical connector.
(b) Remove the nut (1) and the bolt (2).
(c) Install the plug (3).
(d) Attach the tab of the plug (3) with the bolt (2) and the nut (1).
(e) Tighten the nut (1).
Subtask 32-49-51-420-053-A (1) Seal the TPIS harness installation-hole in the shock absorber:
(a) Install the plug (22) in the shock absorber.
(b) Install the washer (21) and the bolt (18).
(c) Install the second washer (21) and the nut (20).
(d) TORQUE the nut (20) to between 0.75 and 0.6 m.daN (66.37 and 53.10 lbf.in )
. (e) Tighten the nut (20).
(f) Install the new AIPC 32-21-11-32-050 COTTER PIN (19) or AIPC 32-21-11-03-040 COTTER PIN (19) to safety the nut (20).
(g) Apply a bead of Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Quick Curing - (Material No.06ABF1) at the junction of the plug (22) and the shock absorber.
(2) Installation of the bushes (27) on each side of the wheel axle:
(a) Install the bushes (27) at the wheel axle ends.
(b) Install the four new AIPC 32-21-13-12-090 BOLTS (26) or AIPC 32-21-13-22-090 BOLTS (26) from the inside of the wheel axle ends.
(c) Install the four washers (25), and the four nuts (24).
(d) Safety the four nuts (24) with the new AIPC 32-21-13-12-060 COTTER PINS (23) or AIPC 32-21-13-22-060 COTTER PINS (23).
(3) Disconnect the rod (28).
(a) Remove and discard the cotter pin (29).
(b) Remove the nut (30), the washer (31) and the bolt (33).
(c) Disconnect the rod (28) from the support (32).
(4) Remove the casing (9).
(a) Release and remove the screw (11).
(b) Remove and discard the lockwasher (12).
(c) Lift the casing (9) and disengage it from the pin (13).
(d) Remove the casing (9).
(5) Install the blanking cap (15) in the torque link pin (14) of the leg structure:
(a) Remove and discard the nut (16).
(b) Remove the washer (17) from the pin (13).
(c) Remove the pin (13).
(d) Install the blanking cap (15) in the torque link pin (14).
(e) Clean the pin (13) with Non Aqueous Cleaner_- Methyl-Ethyl-Ketone - (Material No.08BBF1) and dry it with a AIR SOURCE 0.3 TO 0.7 BAR (5 TO 10 PSI)- FILTERED, DRY.
(f) Apply a thin layer of Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) on the pin (13).
(g) Align the holes with the tool J47125 and install the pin (13).
(h) Install the washer (17) and the new AIPC 32-21-11-43-010 NUT (16) or AIPC 32-21-11-23-010 NUT (16).
(i) Tighten the nut (16).
(j) Apply a bead of Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Brushable - (Material No.06ABA1) on the interface between the pin (13) and the gear leg.
(k) Put the casing (9) in position on the pin (13).
(l) Install the screw (11) and the new lockwasher (12).
(m) Tighten the screw (11) and safety it with the lockwasher (12).
(n) Apply a bead of Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Brushable - (Material No.06ABA1) around the nut (16).
(6) Install the bolt (10):
(a) Single-linkage version:
1 Put the lockwasher (4) on the bolt (10).
2 Put the spacer (5) on the bolt (10).
3 Engage the bolt (10) through the casing (9), the barrel and the other side of the casing (9).
4 Install the second spacer (5), the washer (7) and the new AIPC 32-21-11-51-080 NUT (6) or AIPC 32-21-11-11-050 NUT (6) on the bolt (10).
5 TORQUE the nut (6) to between 0.7 and 0.6 m.daN (61.95 and 53.10 lbf.in )
. 6 Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Brushable - (Material No.06ABA1) on the washer (4) the nut (6) and on the thread of the bolt (10).
(b) Dual-linkage version:
1 Put the lock washer (4) and the spacers (5) and (8) on the bolt (10).
2 Engage the bolt (10) through the casing (9), the barrel and the other side of the casing (9).
3 Install the second spacer (5), the second spacer (8), the washer (7) and the new AIPC 32-21-11-51-080 NUT (6) or AIPC 32-21-11-11-050 NUT (6) on the bolt (10).
4 TORQUE the nut (6) to between 0.7 and 0.6 m.daN (61.95 and 53.10 lbf.in )
. 5 Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Brushable - (Material No.06ABA1) on the washer (4), the nut (6) and on the thread of the bolt (10).
(7) Connect the rod (28).
(a) Connect the rod (28) to the support (32).
(b) Install the bolt (33), the washer (31) and the nut (30)
(c) TORQUE the nut (30) to between 0.75 and 0.6 m.daN (66.37 and 53.10 lbf.in )
and safety it with the new cotter pin (29). (d) Tighten the nut (30) and safety it with the new AIPC 32-21-11-52-080 COTTER PIN (29) or AIPC 32-21-11-12-080 COTTER PIN (29).
(8) Installation of the plug (3) on the 701VC connector of the 1M upper electrical harness:
(a) Remove the blanking cap from the electrical connector.
(b) Remove the nut (1) and the bolt (2).
(c) Install the plug (3).
(d) Attach the tab of the plug (3) with the bolt (2) and the nut (1).
(e) Tighten the nut (1).
B. End of the Installation
(1) Install the wheels on the nose landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-41-12-400-001).
Subtask 32-49-51-720-051-A (1) Install the wheels on the nose landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-41-12-400-001).
NOTE: Lower the aircraft to make the installation of the wheels easier.
C. Test
(1) Do a functional test of the normal extension and retraction of the nose landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-00-720-003).
5. Close-up(1) Do a functional test of the normal extension and retraction of the nose landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-00-720-003).

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) Lower the aircraft on its wheels (Ref. AMM TASK 07-11-00-586-001).
(2) Remove the safety barriers.
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
