Reference Points for the Rear Target ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
Reference Points for the Rear Target ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(1) Installation of the front target on the ground.
(b) Open the radome to get access to the first reference point (first point) (Ref. AMM TASK 53-15-11-010-001).
(c) Put the front target in position on the ground, approximately below the first reference point.
(d) Make a mark on the NLG door (second reference point).
(e) Install the laser device on the front target arm. To do this, engage the spring-loaded location pin in the first notch.
(f) Adjust the lateral position of the front target on the ground.
1 Point the laser beam to the first reference point.
2 Point the laser beam to the second reference point (mark on the NLG door).
3 Make sure that the laser beam points along the centerline of the first and second reference points. If necessary, adjust the lateral position of the front target.
4 If the lateral distance between these two reference points is more than 10 mm (0.39 in.), do step (f) again.
(g) Remove the laser device from the front target arm.
Be very careful not to move the front target. If the front target moves, do steps (f) and (g) again.
(2) Installation of the rear target on the ground
(b) Make sure that the area below the center and rear sections of the fuselage is clear:
(d) Install the 98F05003000002 TARGET-MEASUREMENT at reference point 12.
(e) Install the laser device on the rear target arm.
To do this, engage the spring-loaded location pin in the first notch.
(f) Adjust the lateral position of the rear target on the ground.
1 Point the laser beam to point 11.
2 Point the laser beam to the 98F05003000002 TARGET-MEASUREMENT (installed at point 12).
3 Make sure that the laser beam points along the centerline of points 11 and 12. If necessary, adjust the lateral position of the rear target.
4 If the lateral distance between these two reference points is more than 10 mm (0.39 in.), do step (f) again.
(g) Remove the laser device from the rear target arm.
Be very careful not to move the rear target. If the rear target moves, do steps (f) and (g) again.
(3) Lift the NLG axle.
(a) Put a thick layer of Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) on the pivoting cup of the axle jack.
(b) Lift the NLG axle sufficiently to turn the two wheels (Ref. AMM TASK 07-12-00-582-001).
(5) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(6) Make sure that the nose-wheel steering handwheels and the rudder pedals are in the neutral position.
(7) Pressurize the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-863-001).

(1) Installation of the front target on the ground.

(c) Put the front target in position on the ground, approximately below the first reference point.
(d) Make a mark on the NLG door (second reference point).
(e) Install the laser device on the front target arm. To do this, engage the spring-loaded location pin in the first notch.
(f) Adjust the lateral position of the front target on the ground.
1 Point the laser beam to the first reference point.
2 Point the laser beam to the second reference point (mark on the NLG door).
3 Make sure that the laser beam points along the centerline of the first and second reference points. If necessary, adjust the lateral position of the front target.
4 If the lateral distance between these two reference points is more than 10 mm (0.39 in.), do step (f) again.
(g) Remove the laser device from the front target arm.

(2) Installation of the rear target on the ground
(b) Make sure that the area below the center and rear sections of the fuselage is clear:
(d) Install the 98F05003000002 TARGET-MEASUREMENT at reference point 12.
(e) Install the laser device on the rear target arm.
To do this, engage the spring-loaded location pin in the first notch.
(f) Adjust the lateral position of the rear target on the ground.
1 Point the laser beam to point 11.
2 Point the laser beam to the 98F05003000002 TARGET-MEASUREMENT (installed at point 12).
3 Make sure that the laser beam points along the centerline of points 11 and 12. If necessary, adjust the lateral position of the rear target.
4 If the lateral distance between these two reference points is more than 10 mm (0.39 in.), do step (f) again.
(g) Remove the laser device from the rear target arm.
Be very careful not to move the rear target. If the rear target moves, do steps (f) and (g) again.
(3) Lift the NLG axle.
(a) Put a thick layer of Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) on the pivoting cup of the axle jack.
(b) Lift the NLG axle sufficiently to turn the two wheels (Ref. AMM TASK 07-12-00-582-001).
(5) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(6) Make sure that the nose-wheel steering handwheels and the rudder pedals are in the neutral position.
(7) Pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-002) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-24-00-863-001).

- You use the adjusting tool M46196-100 and the nose-wheel alignment tool JT2000AIRBUS.

A. General
(1) In the cockpit, put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear or the N/WS.
(2) On the right-center instrument panel (400VU), make sure that the L/G normal control-lever is in the DOWN position and the A/SKID & N/W STRG switch is in the ON position.
(3) On the nose gear leg, on the N/WS deactivation electrical-box, make sure that the towing lever is in the normal position (engaged position).
(4) Make sure that the N/WS handwheels and the rudder pedals are in the neutral position.
(5) On the rudder-trim parking-brake panel (110VU), make sure that the RUD TRIM indicator shows zero.
Subtask 32-51-00-860-079-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) In the cockpit, put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear or the N/WS.

Reference Points for the Rear Target ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: Two reference points are used to put the front target in the correct position on the ground.
(a) Refer to the manufacturer's instructions to assemble the front target. - The first reference point is used to put the front target in position on the ground.
- The first and the second reference points are used to adjust the lateral position of the front target with the laser device of the JT2000AIRBUS TOOL-NOSE WHEEL ALIGNMENT.
(b) Open the radome to get access to the first reference point (first point) (Ref. AMM TASK 53-15-11-010-001).
(c) Put the front target in position on the ground, approximately below the first reference point.
(d) Make a mark on the NLG door (second reference point).
(e) Install the laser device on the front target arm. To do this, engage the spring-loaded location pin in the first notch.

NOTE: Two reference points are used to put the rear target in the correct position on the ground.
(a) Refer to the manufacturer's instructions to assemble the rear target. - Point 11 is used to put the rear target in position on the ground.
- Points 11 and 12 are used to adjust the lateral position of the rear target with the laser device of the JT2000AIRBUS TOOL-NOSE WHEEL ALIGNMENT.
To do this, it is necessary to install a measurement target on the aircraft, at point 12 to see the laser beam clearly on the target.
(b) Make sure that the area below the center and rear sections of the fuselage is clear:
- Find reference points 11 and 12 below the fuselage (Ref. AMM TASK 08-22-00-200-001).
(d) Install the 98F05003000002 TARGET-MEASUREMENT at reference point 12.
(e) Install the laser device on the rear target arm.
To do this, engage the spring-loaded location pin in the first notch.
(f) Adjust the lateral position of the rear target on the ground.
1 Point the laser beam to point 11.
2 Point the laser beam to the 98F05003000002 TARGET-MEASUREMENT (installed at point 12).
3 Make sure that the laser beam points along the centerline of points 11 and 12. If necessary, adjust the lateral position of the rear target.
4 If the lateral distance between these two reference points is more than 10 mm (0.39 in.), do step (f) again.
(g) Remove the laser device from the rear target arm.

(3) Lift the NLG axle.

(b) Lift the NLG axle sufficiently to turn the two wheels (Ref. AMM TASK 07-12-00-582-001).
NOTE: You must make sure that the wheel travel is clear because there can be an unwanted movement of the NLG.
(4) Refer to the manufacturer's instructions to install and set the nose-wheel alignment tool. (5) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(6) Make sure that the nose-wheel steering handwheels and the rudder pedals are in the neutral position.
(7) Pressurize the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-863-001).

B. Installation of the Nose-Wheel Alignment Tool - DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY INTO THE BEAM

- Points 11 and 12 are used to adjust the lateral position of the rear target with the laser device of the JT2000AIRBUS TOOL-NOSE WHEEL ALIGNMENT.
To do this, it is necessary to install a measurement target on the aircraft, at point 12 to see the laser beam clearly on the target.
(b) Make sure that the area below the center and rear sections of the fuselage is clear:

NOTE: The open status of circuit breakers 2EN1 and 2EN2 makes the engine thrust reversers unserviceable.
E. Safety Precautions

(2) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position in the cockpit to tell persons that circuit breakers 10KC1 and 10KC2 are open.
NOTE: The open status of circuit breakers 10KC1 and 10KC2 makes the engine thrust reversers unserviceable.

A. Alignment of the N/WS at the Zero Position with the Nose-Wheel Alignment Tool
(1) Use the nose-wheel alignment tool and the manufacturer's instructions to measure the N/WS position.
(2) Use the rudder-trim control switch on the rudder-trim parking-brake panel (110VU) to align the nose wheels to the zero position, as shown on the nose-wheel alignment-tool display.
(3) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-864-001).
(4) Wait 30 seconds.
Subtask 32-51-00-220-065-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Use the nose-wheel alignment tool and the manufacturer's instructions to measure the N/WS position.
(2) Use the rudder-trim control switch on the rudder-trim parking-brake panel (110VU) to align the nose wheels to the zero position, as shown on the nose-wheel alignment-tool display.
(3) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-864-001).
(4) Wait 30 seconds.
NOTE: This will decrease the hydraulic pressure and make sure that the nose wheel does not move when the A/SKID & N/W STRG switch is set to OFF.
(5) Monitor the nose-wheel alignment-tool display to make sure that the nose wheels stay at the zero position. NOTE: If the nose wheels move:
- Install the 98A09003000001 BAR-STEERING,NOSE WHEEL.
- Use the 98A09003000001 BAR-STEERING,NOSE WHEEL to put the nose wheels to the zero position again.
- Remove the 98A09003000001 BAR-STEERING,NOSE WHEEL.
A. Alignment of the N/WS at the Zero Position with the Nose-Wheel Alignment Tool
(1) Use the nose-wheel alignment tool and the manufacturer's instructions to measure the N/WS position.
(2) Use the rudder-trim control switch on the rudder-trim parking-brake panel (110VU) to align the nose wheels to the zero position, as shown on the nose-wheel alignment-tool display.
(3) Depressurize the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
(4) Wait 30 seconds.
Subtask 32-51-00-865-124-A (1) Use the nose-wheel alignment tool and the manufacturer's instructions to measure the N/WS position.
(2) Use the rudder-trim control switch on the rudder-trim parking-brake panel (110VU) to align the nose wheels to the zero position, as shown on the nose-wheel alignment-tool display.
(3) Depressurize the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
(4) Wait 30 seconds.
NOTE: This will decrease the hydraulic pressure and make sure that the nose wheel does not move when the A/SKID & N/W STRG switch is set to OFF.
(5) Monitor the nose-wheel alignment-tool display to make sure that the nose wheels stay at the zero position. NOTE: If the nose wheels move:
- Install the 98A09003000001 BAR-STEERING,NOSE WHEEL.
- Use the 98A09003000001 BAR-STEERING,NOSE WHEEL to put the nose wheels to the zero position again.
- Remove the 98A09003000001 BAR-STEERING,NOSE WHEEL.

D. Set the N/WS Zero Position for the N/WS Feedback Sensor-Box (3GC) (control channel)
(2) Disconnect the connector (3) from the N/WS feedback sensor-box (3GC) (1).
(3) Connect the connector of the F26792000 SENSOR-VOLTAGE TEST or the F26792000-1 SENSOR-VOLTAGE TEST (2) to the N/WS feedback sensor-box (3GC) (1).
(4) Connect the connector (3) to the F26792000 SENSOR-VOLTAGE TEST or the F26792000-1 SENSOR-VOLTAGE TEST (2).
(5) On the landing-gear control and indicating panel (402VU), put the A/SKID & N/W STRG switch in the ON position.
(6) Connect a VOLTMETER - AC, 0-20 V MIN, 0,001 V, 50 TO 2000 HTZ.
(7) Stage 1:
(a) On the F26792000 SENSOR-VOLTAGE TEST or F26792000-1 SENSOR-VOLTAGE TEST (2), set the selector switch to U1.
(b) Record the voltage (U1).
(c) On the F26792000 SENSOR-VOLTAGE TEST or F26792000-1 SENSOR-VOLTAGE TEST (2), set the selector switch to U2.
(d) Record the voltage (U2).
(e) From the voltages U1 and U2, calculate the voltage U:
(f) If the voltage U is not equal to 0 plus or minus 20mV, adjust the gearbox as follows:
1 Remove the N/WS feedback sensor-box (3GC) (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-51-19-000-001).
2 Install the M46196-100 PLATE-MOUTING AND ADJUSTMENT on the gearbox, put the stud (15) of the rigging tool M46196-2-100 (14) in the drive slot (13) of the gearbox plate (11).
3 Hold the rigging tool M46196-2-100 (14) in position and loosen the screws (12).
4 Lightly move the gearbox plate (11) with the rigging tool M46196-2-100 (14):
.
7 Install the N/WS feedback sensor-box (3GC) (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-51-19-400-001).
(8) Stage 2:
(a) On the F26792000 SENSOR-VOLTAGE TEST or F26792000-1 SENSOR-VOLTAGE TEST (2), set the selector switch to U1.
(b) Record the voltage (U1*) (in AC voltage).
(c) On the F26792000 SENSOR-VOLTAGE TEST or F26792000-1 SENSOR-VOLTAGE TEST (2), set the selector switch to U2.
(d) Record the voltage (U2*) (in AC voltage).
(e) Calculate the algebraic value U* with this formula:
(f) Make sure that the algebraic value U* is equal to 0 plus or minus 20mV with this formula:
(g) If U* is not in the tolerance, do the procedure from step (1) again.
(9) On the landing-gear control and indicating panel (402VU), put the A/SKID & N/W STRG switch in the OFF position.
(10) Disconnect the electrical connector from the N/WS feedback sensor-box (3GC) (1).
(11) Remove the F26792000 SENSOR-VOLTAGE TEST or F26792000-1 SENSOR-VOLTAGE TEST (2).
(12) Connect the electrical connector (3) to the N/WS feedback sensor-box (3GC) (1).
(13) Do the procedure again for the N/WS feedback sensor-box (4GC) (monitor channel) (1).
(14) On the landing-gear control and indicating panel (402VU), put the A/SKID & N/W STRG switch in the ON position.
Subtask 32-51-00-865-110-A NOTE: The voltages U1 and U2 are in volts (3V approximately).
NOTE: The adjustment process is very sensitive.
NOTE: Do not move the wheels manually.
(1) On the landing-gear control and indicating panel (402VU), put the A/SKID & N/W STRG switch in the OFF position. (2) Disconnect the connector (3) from the N/WS feedback sensor-box (3GC) (1).
(3) Connect the connector of the F26792000 SENSOR-VOLTAGE TEST or the F26792000-1 SENSOR-VOLTAGE TEST (2) to the N/WS feedback sensor-box (3GC) (1).
(4) Connect the connector (3) to the F26792000 SENSOR-VOLTAGE TEST or the F26792000-1 SENSOR-VOLTAGE TEST (2).
(5) On the landing-gear control and indicating panel (402VU), put the A/SKID & N/W STRG switch in the ON position.
(6) Connect a VOLTMETER - AC, 0-20 V MIN, 0,001 V, 50 TO 2000 HTZ.
(7) Stage 1:
(a) On the F26792000 SENSOR-VOLTAGE TEST or F26792000-1 SENSOR-VOLTAGE TEST (2), set the selector switch to U1.
(b) Record the voltage (U1).
(c) On the F26792000 SENSOR-VOLTAGE TEST or F26792000-1 SENSOR-VOLTAGE TEST (2), set the selector switch to U2.
(d) Record the voltage (U2).
(e) From the voltages U1 and U2, calculate the voltage U:

(f) If the voltage U is not equal to 0 plus or minus 20mV, adjust the gearbox as follows:
1 Remove the N/WS feedback sensor-box (3GC) (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-51-19-000-001).
2 Install the M46196-100 PLATE-MOUTING AND ADJUSTMENT on the gearbox, put the stud (15) of the rigging tool M46196-2-100 (14) in the drive slot (13) of the gearbox plate (11).
3 Hold the rigging tool M46196-2-100 (14) in position and loosen the screws (12).
4 Lightly move the gearbox plate (11) with the rigging tool M46196-2-100 (14):
- Clockwise if the value U is less than minus 20mV
- Counterclockwise if the value U is more than plus 20mV.
. NOTE: Make sure that the gearbox plate (11) does not move when you torque the screws (12). If the gearbox plate (11) moves, the adjustment will not be correct.
6 Remove the rigging tool M46196-2-100 (14). 7 Install the N/WS feedback sensor-box (3GC) (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-51-19-400-001).
NOTE: Lightly lubricate the packing of the N/WS feedback sensor-box (3GC) (1) with Grease-Hydraulic Systems - - (Material No.03LDA1) .
(g) On the landing-gear control and indicating panel (402VU), put the A/SKID & N/W STRG switch in the ON position. (8) Stage 2:
(a) On the F26792000 SENSOR-VOLTAGE TEST or F26792000-1 SENSOR-VOLTAGE TEST (2), set the selector switch to U1.
(b) Record the voltage (U1*) (in AC voltage).
(c) On the F26792000 SENSOR-VOLTAGE TEST or F26792000-1 SENSOR-VOLTAGE TEST (2), set the selector switch to U2.
(d) Record the voltage (U2*) (in AC voltage).
(e) Calculate the algebraic value U* with this formula:

(11) Remove the F26792000 SENSOR-VOLTAGE TEST or F26792000-1 SENSOR-VOLTAGE TEST (2).
(12) Connect the electrical connector (3) to the N/WS feedback sensor-box (3GC) (1).
(13) Do the procedure again for the N/WS feedback sensor-box (4GC) (monitor channel) (1).
(14) On the landing-gear control and indicating panel (402VU), put the A/SKID & N/W STRG switch in the ON position.
E. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that circuit breakers 2EN1 and 2EN2 are closed.
(3) Lower the aircraft on its wheels and remove the axle jack (Ref. AMM TASK 07-12-00-582-001).
(4) Set the rudder trim to the zero position.
(5) Close the radome (Ref. AMM TASK 53-15-11-410-001).
Subtask 32-51-00-860-080-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that circuit breakers 2EN1 and 2EN2 are closed.
NOTE: The open status of circuit breakers 2EN1 and 2EN2 makes the engine thrust reversers unserviceable.
(2) Remove the warning notice(s) from circuit breakers 2EN1 and 2EN2. (3) Lower the aircraft on its wheels and remove the axle jack (Ref. AMM TASK 07-12-00-582-001).
(4) Set the rudder trim to the zero position.
(5) Close the radome (Ref. AMM TASK 53-15-11-410-001).

Subtask 32-51-00-740-060-A Subtask 32-51-00-942-067-A (1) Make sure that circuit breakers 10KC1 and 10KC2 are closed.

C. Remove the Equipment
(1) Remove the nose-wheel alignment tool.
(2) Remove the 98F05003000002 TARGET-MEASUREMENT from point 12.
(3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(4) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(5) Remove the access platform(s).
(6) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(7) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(1) Remove the nose-wheel alignment tool.
(2) Remove the 98F05003000002 TARGET-MEASUREMENT from point 12.
(3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(4) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(5) Remove the access platform(s).
(6) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(7) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
