Pressurize the Yellow Hydraulic System with the Electric Pump
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE CONTROLS AGREE WITH THE POSITION OF THE ITEMS THEY OPERATE BEFORE YOU PRESSURIZE A HYDRAULIC SYSTEM. UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF HYDRAULICALLY OPERATED ITEMS CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
WARNING:
PRESSURIZE ONLY THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM(S) THAT IS (ARE) NECESSARY FOR THE TASK. ISOLATE THE OTHER HYDRAULIC SYSTEM(S) BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER TO THE AIRCRAFT.
NOTE: The simulation of in-flight conditions while Green and Yellow hydraulic systems are off can cause an inhibition of PTU.

(1) Set the Electronic Centralized Aircraft Monitor (ECAM) to on (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(2) On the ECAM control panel on the center pedestal, push the HYD pushbutton switch (P/BSW). Make sure that the ECAM lower Display Unit (DU) shows the HYD page.
(3) Make sure that the ECAM does not show any of these conditions:
(6) If necessary, add fluid to the reservoir(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).

A. Pressurization with the Electric Pump
(1) If it is necessary to use the Yellow hydraulic system only, continue as follows:
(c) Make sure that the OFF legend comes on.
(2) On the overhead panel 40VU, push and release the YELLOW ELEC PUMP pushbutton switch 3804GX.
(3) Make sure that the ON legend comes on.
(4) Make sure that the Yellow electric pump starts.
(5) On the lower DU of the ECAM, make sure that the YELLOW hydraulic system has a pressure of approximately 3000 psi.
5. Close-up(1) If it is necessary to use the Yellow hydraulic system only, continue as follows:
NOTE: Usually the PTU automatically pressurizes the Green hydraulic system together with the Yellow hydraulic system. If you pressurize the Yellow system only, then it is necessary to stop the operation of the PTU.
(a) Disconnect the isolation coupling of the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001)NOTE: Disconnection of the isolation coupling is only necessary if the system on the opposite side is disconnected for maintenance.
(b) Press and release the PTU/AUTO pushbutton switch 1802GL on the overhead panel 40VU.
NOTE: If the ECAM system is not available, you can check the pressure of 3000 +/-100 psi on the Yellow power accumulator (3070GM).
NOTE: To prevent a possible overheating of the hydraulic fluid, operate the electric pump only as long as it is necessary to do your maintenance procedure.
