1. Reason for the Job
You can use this procedure as example if SB 53-1482 or SB 53-1483 is given.
The illustration is general and shows only the A321 NEO aircraft.
The task is applicable to aircraft with:
  • Adhesive tape family ABS5631A, 14JAD1 (Sealing Profile– PTFE Expanded -) (Skyflex)
  • Adhesive tape family ABS5784A, 14JMB3 (Sealing Profile - Seat Rail Self Adhesive - L shape)
  • Adhesive tape family ABS5673A, 14JMB1 (Sealing Profile - Seat Rail Self Adhesive - I shape).

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 53-00-00-860-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
   (2) Make sure that the passenger seats are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-21-41-000-001).
   (3) If necessary, make sure that the seat-to-seat cables are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-21-61-000-001).
   (4) If necessary, make sure that the galleys, the lavatories and/or the stowages are removed. To do this, refer to paragraph Component Location in the applicable ATA 25 description and operation:
   (5) If necessary, make sure that the cabin attendant seats are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-22-42-000-001).
   (6) If necessary, make sure that the partitions are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-26-42-000-001).
   (7) If necessary, make sure that the textile floor covering is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-28-41-000-001).
   (8) If necessary, make sure that the Non-Textile Floor covering (NTF) is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-28-42-000-001).
   (9) If necessary, make sure that the moisture barrier foil (Mylar) is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-28-43-000-001).
   (10) If necessary, make sure that the doghouse is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-27-46-000-001).
   (11) If necessary, make sure that the Wall Disconnect Box (WDB) is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 23-33-47-000-001).
   (12) Make sure that the anti-slip surfaces are in the correct condition.
   (13) If necessary, repair the damaged anti-slip surfaces (Ref. AMM TASK 53-12-00-300-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-00-300-801).
   (14) If necessary, make sure that the door frame linings are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-45-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-45-000-005).
4. Procedure
Subtask 53-00-00-160-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Remove the old sealant (22) from the cabin floor panels (16) and the door-threshold floor panels (21) with the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
   (2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area with the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and the Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
   (3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (5) Make sure that the clip nuts (15) are clean and in the correct condition.
   (6) If necessary, replace the defective clip nuts (15).
   (7) Make sure that the adhesive tape (24) is in the correct condition.
   (8) If necessary, replace the damaged Sealing Profile-- PTFE Expanded - (Material No.14JAD1) (24):
     (a) Make sure that you apply the Sealing Profile-- PTFE Expanded - (Material No.14JAD1) (24) on the full width of the beams. If necessary, use more than one adhesive tape (24) on the same width.
NOTE: An overlap of maximum three layers of adhesive tape (24) is permitted.
     (b) Make sure that the overlap K2 between adhesive tapes (24) is 10 -5 mm or +5 mm (0.394 -0.197 in. or +0.197 in.).
     (c) Make sure that the wider adhesive tape (24) is on top of the smaller adhesive tape (24).
     (d) Make sure that there is a protrusion of minimum 2 mm (0.079 in.) of adhesive tape (24) along the rail edges.
     (e) Make sure that the adhesive tape (24) is flush with the plugs.
     (f) If necessary, cut the adhesive tape (24):
       1 Make sure that there is a protrusion of minimum 2 mm (0.079 in.) of adhesive tape (24) to avoid damage on the structure protection.
     (g) Apply the Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No.12ACB1) on the area without tape.
   (9) Apply the corrosion protection agent:
CAUTION: DO NOT APPLY TEMPORARY PROTECTION SYSTEM (TPS) TYPE 3 ON THE MOVABLE COMPONENTS. USE ONLY TPS TYPE 1 GRADE 2. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, THE MECHANISMS WILL NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY.
     (a) Apply the Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing & Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No.12ADB1) on the areas of the support structure that follow:
  • The floor beams
  • The seat tracks
  • The longitudinal profiles.
       1 Do not apply the Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing & Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No.12ADB1) :
  • In the seat track crowns and on their top
  • On the threads and bearing surfaces of the clip nuts (15).
   (10) Clean the mating surfaces of the removed adhesive tapes (14) and (19) with the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and the Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
   (11) If applicable, apply the new adhesive tape ABS5673 (14) ( Sealing Profile-Seat Rail Self Adhesive - I shape (Material No.14JMB1) ) on the same areas of the cabin floor panels (16) and/or the door-threshold floor panels (21).
NOTE: Adhesive tape ABS5673 (14) has different widths.
   (12) If applicable, apply the new adhesive tape ABS5784 (19) ( Sealing Profile-Seat Rail Self Adhesive - L shape (Material No.14JMB3) ) on the same areas of the cabin floor panels (18).
NOTE: For the vertical flange, the adhesive tape ABS5784 (19) has different thicknesses. They are used in relation to the dimensions J1, J2 and J3:
  • For the dimension J1 of 3.5 mm (0.1378 in.), ABS5784AF3-3 is applicable
  • For the dimension J2 of 3 mm (0.1181 in.), ABS5784AB3-3 is applicable
  • For the dimension J3 of 2.5 mm (0.0984 in.), ABS5784AE3-3 is applicable.

B. Installation of the Cabin Floor Panels
CAUTION: BEFORE YOU INSTALL THE SCREWS ON THE PANEL, MAKE SURE THAT THE POSITION OF THE SCREWS IS CORRECT. AN INCORRECT POSITION OF THE SCREWS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT BELOW THE PANEL.
   (1) Install the door-threshold floor panels (21) (wet sealant) as follows:
     (a) If removed, install the heated floor panels (Ref. AMM TASK 25-27-51-400-001) and/or (Ref. AMM TASK 25-27-51-400-002).
     (b) Put the door-threshold floor panels (21) in position.
     (c) Apply the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) on the screws (12).
     (d) Install the screws (12) on the door-threshold floor panels (21).
     (e) TORQUE the screws (12) to between 3.7 and 3.3 m.N (32.74 and 29.20 lbf.in ) T.
     (f) Install the new CORD DIA 1,1 MM (0,043 IN) - FIBERGLASS (DAN107-1) (13) between the butt joints of the door-threshold floor panels (21) and the adjacent cabin floor panels (16).
     (g) Make sure that, for each door-threshold floor panel (21), approximately 100.0 mm (3.9370 in.) (dimension K1) of the cord (13) goes out of the two ends.
     (h) Apply the Polysulfide Sealant-Gap Filler Easily Removed - - (Material No.
06AHG1) (22) between the butt joints of the door-threshold floor panels (21) and the adjacent cabin floor panels (16).
     (i) Make a loop at each end of each cord (13) and carefully put the cord ends in the sealant (22).
NOTE: This will make the removal procedure of the door-threshold floor panels (21) easier.
   (2) Install the cabin floor panels (16) (wet sealant) as follows:
     (a) If removed, install the heated floor panels (Ref. AMM TASK 25-27-51-400-001) and/or (Ref. AMM TASK 25-27-51-400-002).
     (b) Put the cabin floor panels (16) in position. Refer to the identification made during the removal procedure for the correct installation.
     (c) Apply the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) on the screws (12).
     (d) Install the screws (12) on the cabin floor panels (16).
     (e) TORQUE the screws (12) to between 3.7 and 3.3 m.N (32.74 and 29.20 lbf.in ) T.
     (f) Install the new Cord-- Nylon Braided - (Material No.
14RAC1) (13), the new Cord-Ligature - - (Material No.14RBA1) (13), the new 14RAD1Cord-- Synthetic fiber Dia: 2.5 mm - (13) or the new CORD DIA 1,1 MM (0,043 IN) - FIBERGLASS (DAN107-1) (13) between the cabin floor panels (16) and on the outer edges of the cabin floor panels (16).
     (g) Apply the Polysulfide Sealant-Gap Filler Easily Removed - - (Material No.06AHG1) (22):
  • Between the cabin floor panels (16)
  • On the outer edges of the cabin floor panels (16)
  • At the ends of the seat track crowns.
     (h) Make a loop at each end of each cord (13) and carefully put the cord ends in the sealant (22).
NOTE: This will make the removal procedure of the cabin floor panels (16) easier.
     (i) Apply the new Adhesive Film Tape-- Film Polyester Transparent Low Adhesion - (Material No.05RAM1) (17) on all the cabin floor panel edges.
   (3) Install the cabin floor panels (18) (dry sealant) as follows:
     (a) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
     (b) Put the cabin floor panels (18) in position. Refer to the identification made during the removal procedure for the correct installation.
     (c) Apply the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) on the screws (12).
     (d) Install the screws (12) on the cabin floor panels (18).
     (e) TORQUE the screws (12) to between 3.7 and 3.3 m.N (32.74 and 29.20 lbf.in ) T.
     (f) Apply new the Adhesive Film Tape-- Film Polyester Transparent Low Adhesion - (Material No.
05RAM1) (17) on all the cabin floor panel edges.
     (g) For each cabin floor panel (18) adjacent to a seat track:
       1 Make sure that the new Adhesive Film Tape-- Film Polyester Transparent Low Adhesion - (Material No.05RAM1) (17) makes an overlap of 1 -1 mm or +0 mm (0.0394 -0.0394 in. or +0 in.) (dimension K3) on the related edge of the cabin floor panel (18).
   (4) Install the angles (1) and (8) at the left and right bottom corners of door 1, as follows:
     (a) Put the cover strip (11) in position on the structure.
     (b) Apply the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) on the screws (9) and (10).
     (c) Install the screws (9) and (10).
     (d) TORQUE the screws (9) and (10) to between 3.7 and 3.3 m.N (32.74 and 29.20 lbf.in ) T.
     (e) Apply the Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.
06AEA1) on the surfaces of the angles (1) and (8) that touch the metal surface of the cabin floor panel.
     (f) Put the angle (8) in position on the structure.
     (g) Apply the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) on the screws (3), (5) and (6).
     (h) Install the washers (7) and the screws (6).
     (i) Install the washers (2) and (4) and the screws (3) and (5).
     (j) TORQUE the screws (3), (5) and (6) to between 3.7 and 3.3 m.N (32.74 and 29.20 lbf.in ) T.
     (k) Put the angle (1) in position on the structure.
     (l) Apply the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.
06LCG9) on the screws (3), (5) and (6).
     (m) Install the washer (4) and the screw (5).
     (n) Install the washers (2) and (7) and the screws (3) and (6).
     (o) TORQUE the screws (3), (5) and (6) to between 3.7 and 3.3 m.N (32.74 and 29.20 lbf.in ) T.
     (p) Remove the unwanted sealant (22) with the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.
14SBA1) .
5. Close-up
Subtask 53-00-00-410-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) If removed, install the door frame linings (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-45-400-007) and (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-45-400-006).
   (3) If removed, install the WDB (Ref. AMM TASK 23-33-47-400-001).
   (4) If removed, install the doghouse (Ref. AMM TASK 25-27-46-400-001).
   (5) If removed, install the moisture barrier foil (Mylar) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-28-43-400-001).
   (6) If removed, install the NTF covering (Ref. AMM TASK 25-28-42-400-001).
   (7) If removed, install the textile floor covering (Ref. AMM TASK 25-28-41-400-001).
   (8) If removed, install the partitions (Ref. AMM TASK 25-26-42-400-001).
   (9) If removed, install the cabin attendant seats (Ref. AMM TASK 25-22-41-400-001) and/or (Ref. AMM TASK 25-22-43-400-001).
   (10) If removed, install the galleys, the lavatories and/or the stowages. To do this, refer to paragraph Component Location in the applicable ATA 25 description and operation:
   (11) If removed, install the seat-to-seat cables (Ref. AMM TASK 25-21-61-400-001).
   (12) If removed, install the passenger seats (Ref. AMM TASK 25-21-41-400-001).
   (13) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
Subtask 53-00-00-862-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
