A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
   (2) Make sure that:
  • The folding tables are in the folded position
  • The seat backrests are in the vertical position
  • If folding legrests are installed, they are in the extended position.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that:
  • In the cockpit, on the overhead panel 25VU (SIGNS), the EMER EXIT LT switch is set to the OFF position
  • On the forward attendant panel (FAP) 120RH, the LIGHT EMER pushbutton switch is set to the OFF position.
   (2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the EMER EXIT LT switch.

4. Procedure
Subtask 25-21-41-560-052-A
A. Preparation of the Replacement Component
   (1) Remove the life vests from the removed seat.
   (2) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (3) Install serviceable life vests in the new seat.

B. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that all placards of the retained/new components are in the correct position and in good condition.
   (4) If necessary, install new placards (Ref. AMM TASK 11-00-00-400-007).
   (5) Make sure that the seat tracks are clean and in the correct condition.
   (6) Make sure that the studs are correctly installed in the front legs of the seat assembly.
F Front Stud - Installation Limits ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (7) Apply Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) to all seat track fittings and front studs.

B. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that all placards of the retained/new components are in the correct position and in good condition.
   (4) If necessary, install new placards (Ref. AMM TASK 11-00-00-400-007).
   (5) Make sure that the seat tracks are clean and in the correct condition.
   (6) Apply Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) to all seat track fittings and front studs.

C. Installation of the Passenger Seats in the Business Class Area
F Passenger Seats ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
F Passenger Seats B/C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS NO PLAY BETWEEN THE SEATLOCKS AND THE SEAT TRACKS. IF THE SEAT BECOMES LOOSE, IT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PASSENGERS OR DAMAGE TO THE SEAT.
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Put the seat unit (1) in position on the seat tracks.
   (3) Refer to the match marks you made during the removal procedure.
   (4) Make sure that the track fittings (7) and the front studs (2) are correctly engaged in the seat tracks.
   (5) Move the seat unit (1) forward or rearward to align with the marks on the seat tracks.
   (6) Make sure that the spring-loaded track locks (6) engage correctly into the seat tracks.
   (7) TORQUE the screws (5) to between 90 and 65 lbf.in (1.02 and 0.73 m.daN ) T.
   (8) Put a mark on the screws (5) and the track fittings (7) with Varnish Polyurethane-- Marking Structure (Material No.
04SAB2) .
   (9) Tighten the anti-rattle nuts (3) with a WRENCH - GROOVE NUT until the front studs (2) have no play in the seat tracks, then tighten them a quarter to a half turn more.
   (10) Install the seat track covers (4) on the seat track.

C. Installation of the Passenger Seats in the Business Class Area
F Passenger Seats - Business Class ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS NO PLAY BETWEEN THE SEATLOCKS AND THE SEAT TRACKS. IF THE SEAT BECOMES LOOSE, IT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PASSENGERS OR DAMAGE TO THE SEAT.
   (1) Put the seat unit (1) in position on the seat tracks.
   (2) Make sure that the track fittings (5) and the front studs (3) engage correctly in the seat tracks.
   (3) Move the seat unit (1) forward or rearward to it align with the marks on the seat tracks.
   (4) Turn and lower the shear pins (6) to the locked position.
   (5) Make sure that the track locks (8) engage correctly with the seat tracks.
     (a) TORQUE the screws (7) to between 44 and 36 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.41 m.daN ) T.
     (b) TORQUE the anti-rattle screws (2) to between 44 and 36 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.41 m.daN )
T.
   (6) Put a mark on the screws (7) and the track fittings (5) with Varnish Polyurethane-- Marking Structure (Material No.
04SAB2) .
   (7) Install the seat track covers (4) on the seat tracks.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS NO PLAY BETWEEN THE SEATLOCKS AND THE SEAT TRACKS. IF THE SEAT BECOMES LOOSE, IT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PASSENGERS OR DAMAGE TO THE SEAT.
C. Installation of the Passenger Seat in the Business Class (B/C) Area
F Passenger Seat ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) When you connect/install the components, refer to the match marks made during the removal procedure.
   (2) Carefully put the seat unit (1) in position on the seat tracks.
   (3) Make sure that the track fittings (7) and the front studs (4) correctly engage in the seat tracks.
   (4) Move the seat unit (1) forward or rearward to align it with the marks on the seat tracks.
   (5) Turn the locking plates (8) clockwise to the locked position.
   (6) Make sure that the track locks (6) correctly engage in the seat tracks.
   (7) TORQUE the screws (5) to between 39.80 and 31.00 lbf.in (0.45 and 0.35 m.daN ) T.
   (8) Push the levers (2) to the locked position.
   (9) Put marks on the screws (5) and the locking plates (8) with Varnish Polyurethane-- Marking Structure (Material No.
04SAB2) .
   (10) Install the applicable seat track covers (3) on the seat tracks.
   (11) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.

D. Installation of the Passenger Seats

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS NO PLAY BETWEEN THE SEATLOCKS AND THE SEAT TRACKS. IF THE SEAT BECOMES LOOSE, IT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PASSENGERS OR DAMAGE TO THE SEAT.
   (1) When you connect/install the components, refer to the match marks made during the removal procedure.
   (2) Put the seat unit (1) in position on the seat tracks.
   (3) Make sure that the track fittings (7) and the front studs (4) engage correctly in the seat tracks.
   (4) Move the seat unit (1) forward or rearward to align it with the marks on the seat tracks.
   (5) Turn the locking plates (8) clockwise to the locked position.
   (6) Make sure that the track locks (6) engage correctly in the seat tracks.
   (7) TORQUE the screws (5) to between 40 and 31 lbf.in (0.45 and 0.35 m.daN ) T.
   (8) Push the lever (2) to the locked position.
   (9) Put a mark on the screws (5) and the locking plates (8) with Varnish Polyurethane-- Marking Structure (Material No.
04SAB2) .
   (10) Install the applicable seat track covers (3) on the seat tracks.
   (11) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.

D. Installation of the Passenger Seats in the Business and Tourist Class Areas
F Passenger Seats - Tourist Class ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS NO PLAY BETWEEN THE SEATLOCKS AND THE SEAT TRACKS. IF THE SEAT BECOMES LOOSE, IT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PASSENGERS OR DAMAGE TO THE SEAT.
   (1) Put the seat unit (1) in position on the seat tracks.
   (2) Make sure that the track fittings (6) and the front studs (3) engage correctly in the seat tracks.
   (3) Move the seat unit (1) forward or rearward to align it with the marks on the seat tracks.
   (4) Make sure that the track locks (7) engage correctly in the seat tracks.
   (5) TORQUE the screws (5) to between 70 and 50 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.57 m.daN ) T.
NOTE: A flush screw head shows that the installation is correct.
   (6) Tighten the anti-rattle nuts (2) with a WRENCH - GROOVE NUT until the front studs have no play in the seat tracks. Then tighten them a quarter turn more.
   (7) Put a mark on the screws (5) and the track fittings (6) with Varnish Polyurethane-- Marking Structure (Material No.
04SAB2) .
   (8) Install the seat track covers (4) on the seat track.

D. Installation of the Passenger Seats in the Business and Tourist Class Areas
F Passenger Seats ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS NO PLAY BETWEEN THE SEATLOCKS AND THE SEAT TRACKS. IF THE SEAT BECOMES LOOSE, IT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PASSENGERS OR DAMAGE TO THE SEAT.
   (1) Put the seat unit (1) in position on the seat tracks.
   (2) Make sure that the track fittings (8) and the front studs (3) engage correctly in the seat tracks.
   (3) Move the seat unit (1) forward or rearward to align it with the marks on the seat tracks.
   (4) Make sure that the track locks (6) engage correctly with the seat tracks.
   (5) TORQUE the screws (7) to between 88 and 72 lbf.in (0.99 and 0.81 m.daN ) T.
   (6) Lock the spring-clips (5) on the track locks (6).
   (7) Tighten the anti-rattle nuts (2) counterclockwise with a WRENCH - GROOVE NUT until the front studs have no play in the seat tracks. Then tighten them a quarter turn more.
   (8) Put a mark on the screws (7) and the track fittings (8) with Varnish Polyurethane-- Marking Structure (Material No.
04SAB2) .
   (9) Install the seat track covers (4) on the seat tracks.

E. Installation of the Passenger Seats in the Tourist Class Area
F Passenger Seats - Tourist Class ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS NO PLAY BETWEEN THE SEATLOCKS AND THE SEAT TRACKS. IF THE SEAT BECOMES LOOSE, IT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PASSENGERS OR DAMAGE TO THE SEAT.
   (1) When you connect/install the components, refer to the match marks made during the removal procedure.
   (2) Put the seat unit (1) in position on the seat tracks.
   (3) Make sure that the track fittings (6) and the front studs (3) engage correctly in the seat tracks.
   (4) Move the seat unit (1) forward or rearward to align it with the marks on the seat tracks.
   (5) Make sure that the track locks (7) engage correctly in the seat tracks.
   (6) TORQUE the screws (5) to between 70 and 50 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.57 m.daN ) T.
   (7) Put a mark on the screws (5) and the track fittings (6) with Varnish Polyurethane-- Marking Structure (Material No.
04SAB2) .
   (8) Tighten the anti-rattle nuts (2) with a WRENCH - GROOVE NUT until the front studs have no play in the seat tracks. Then tighten them a quarter turn more.
   (9) Install the seat track covers (4) on the seat tracks.

E. Installation of the Passenger Seats in the Tourist Class Area
F Passenger Seats ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS NO PLAY BETWEEN THE SEATLOCKS AND THE SEAT TRACKS. IF THE SEAT BECOMES LOOSE, IT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PASSENGERS OR DAMAGE TO THE SEAT.
   (1) When you connect/install the components, refer to the match marks made during the removal procedure.
   (2) Put the seat unit (1) in position on the seat tracks.
   (3) Make sure that the track fittings (7) and the front studs (4) engage correctly with the seat tracks.
   (4) Move the seat unit (1) forward or rearward to align it with the marks on the seat tracks.
   (5) Make sure that the track locks (6) engage correctly with the seat tracks.
   (6) TORQUE the screws (8) to between 5.50 and 4.50 m.N (48.67 and 39.82 lbf.in ) T.
   (7) Lock the screws (8) with the locking plates (5) on the track locks (6).
   (8) Push the levers (2) to the locked position.
   (9) Put a mark on the screws (8) and to the locking plates (5) with Varnish Polyurethane-- Marking Structure (Material No.
04SAB2) .
   (10) Install the seat-track covers (3) on the seat tracks.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS NO PLAY BETWEEN THE SEATLOCKS AND THE SEAT TRACKS. IF THE SEAT BECOMES LOOSE, IT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PASSENGERS OR DAMAGE TO THE SEAT.
E. Installation of the Passenger Seats in the Tourist Class Area
F Passenger Seats ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
NOTE: If a hammer is used to adjust the seat, use a rubber mallet.
   (1) When you connect/install the components, refer to the match marks made during the removal procedure.
   (2) Put the seat unit (1) in position on the seat tracks.
   (3) Make sure that the track fittings (5) and the front studs (7) are correctly engaged in the seat tracks.
   (4) Move the seat unit (1) forward or rearward a maximum of half an inch and align it with the marks on the seat tracks.
   (5) Push the track locks (4) forward and down to engage them correctly in the seat tracks.
   (6) Turn the safety caps (2) one quarter turn counterclockwise and engage them into the track fittings (5).
   (7) Make sure that the safety caps (2) are correctly engaged into the track fittings (5).
   (8) TORQUE the screws (3) to between 26 and 24 lbf.in (0.29 and 0.27 m.daN ) T.
   (9) Put a mark on the screws (3) and the track fittings (5) with Varnish Polyurethane-- Marking Structure (Material No.
04SAB2) .
   (10) TORQUE the front stud screws (8) to between 136.4 and 111.6 lbf.in (1.54 and 1.26 m.daN ) T.
   (11) Install the seat track covers (6) on the seat tracks.

E. Installation of the Passenger Seats in the Tourist Class Area

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS NO PLAY BETWEEN THE SEATLOCKS AND THE SEAT TRACKS. IF THE SEAT BECOMES LOOSE, IT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PASSENGERS OR DAMAGE TO THE SEAT.
   (1) When you connect/install the components, refer to the match marks made during the removal procedure.
   (2) Put the seat unit (1) in position on the seat tracks.
   (3) Make sure that the track fittings (5) and the front studs (3) engage correctly in the seat tracks.
   (4) Move the seat unit (1) forward or rearward and align it with the marks on the seat tracks.
   (5) Make sure that the track locks (7) engage correctly in the seat tracks.
   (6) TORQUE the screws (6) to between 88 and 72 lbf.in (0.99 and 0.81 m.daN ) T.
   (7) Engage the spring clips (8) on the track locks (7).
   (8) With a WRENCH 5/16 IN - SOCKET, turn the eccentric cams (2) clockwise to the locked position.
   (9) Make sure that the green indication marks are on top of the eccentric cams (2).
   (10) Make marks on the heads of the screws (6) and the track fittings (5) with Varnish Polyurethane-- Marking Structure (Material No.
04SAB2) .
   (11) Install the applicable seat track covers (4) on the seat tracks.

E. Installation of the Passenger Seats in the Tourist Class Area

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS NO PLAY BETWEEN THE SEATLOCKS AND THE SEAT TRACKS. IF THE SEAT BECOMES LOOSE, IT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PASSENGERS OR DAMAGE TO THE SEAT.
   (1) Put the seat unit (1) in position on the seat tracks.
   (2) Make sure that the track fittings (5) and the front studs (3) engage correctly in the seat tracks.
   (3) Move the seat unit (1) forward or rearward to it align with the marks on the seat tracks.
   (4) Turn and lower the shear pins (6) to the locked position.
   (5) Make sure that the track locks (8) engage correctly with the seat tracks.
     (a) TORQUE the screws (7) to between 44 and 36 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.41 m.daN ) T.
   (6) Tighten the anti-rattle nuts (2) until the front studs have no play in the seat tracks. Then tighten them a quarter to a half turn more.
   (7) Put a mark on the screws (7) and the track fittings (5) with Varnish Polyurethane-- Marking Structure (Material No.
04SAB2) .
   (8) Install the seat track covers (4) on the seat tracks.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS NO PLAY BETWEEN THE SEATLOCKS AND THE SEAT TRACKS. IF THE SEAT BECOMES LOOSE, IT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PASSENGERS OR DAMAGE TO THE SEAT.
   (1) Put the seat unit (1) in position on the seat tracks.
   (2) Make sure that the track fittings (6) and the front studs (2) engage correctly in the seat tracks.
   (3) Move the seat unit (1) forward or rearward to align it with the marks on the seat tracks.
   (4) TORQUE the screws (5) to between 35 and 30 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.34 m.daN ) T.
   (5) Tighten the anti-rattle nuts (4) with a WRENCH - GROOVE NUT until the front studs (2) have no play in the seat tracks. Then tighten them a quarter to a half turn more.
   (6) Put a mark on the screws (5) and the track fittings (6) with Varnish Polyurethane-- Marking Structure (Material No.
04SAB2) .
   (7) Install the seat track covers (3) into the seat track.

     (a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.

     (e) Close the cover (7) and push the quick-release studs (8) into the locked position.
     (f) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) If there is an Passenger Entertainment System installed, connect the electrical connector(s)
     (a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
     (b) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
     (c) Connection of the electrical connector(s)

       1 Connect the electrical connector(s) (11), (12) and engage the spring latches (10).
     (d) Attach the wire with Tie wrap to the seat structure.
     (e) Close the cover (8) and push the quick-release studs (7) into the locked position.
     (f) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (3) If there is an Emergency Escape-Path Marking System (EEPMS) installed, connect the electrical connector(s)
     (a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
     (b) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
     (c) Connection of the electrical connector(s)
       1 Connect the electrical connector(s) (1).
     (d) Put the wire in position and if the carpet was removed, put the carpet in position (Ref. AMM TASK 25-28-41-400-001).
     (e) Install the protection cap (4) and push the quick-release studs (3) into the locked position.
     (f) Install the applicable seat-track covers (5) on the seat tracks.
     (g) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
