   (2) Install the NTF (3):
     (a) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
     (b) Do a visual inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
     (c) Make sure that the moisture barrier foil and the NTF (3) have the same size in the entrance area.
     (d) Carefully put the NTF (3) in position and make the cutouts for the furnishing location points as necessary.
     (e) Make sure that the clearance between the NTF (3) and the furnishing (toilet, galley etc.) is 5.0 +2.0 mm or -2.0 mm (0.1969 +0.0787 in. or -0.0787 in.).
     (f) Make sure that the clearance "X" between to pieces of the NTF is:
  • for welding: 1.5 +1.0 mm or -1.5 mm (0.0591 +0.0394 in. or -0.0591 in.)
  • for sealing: 3.0 +1.0 mm or -0.5 mm (0.1181 +0.0394 in. or -0.0197 in.)
     (g) Remove the protective paper from the self-adhesive film (7) on the NTF (3).
     (h) Install the NTF (3) on the moisture barrier foil with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and a light pressure of your hand. Work from the middle of the edges to prevent wrinkles and air pockets.
     (i) Push the NTF (3) down with a ROLLER - RUBBER. Work from the middle to the sides, backwards and forwards and around the edges for a better bond.
NOTE: For the installation of NTF type AerFusion Eco it is not allowed to weld the clearance between two pieces of the NTF. It is approved to seal the NTF with Silicone Sealant-Non Textile Floor Jointing One part - (Material No.06BQD1) .
   (3) Weld the clearance between two pieces of the NTF (3):
NOTE: This procedure is only applicable for PUR or PVC NTF. It is not applicable for silicone NTF.
     (a) Chamfer the edges of the NTF at the joints with a SCRAPER - TRIANGLE SHAPE.
CAUTION: DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE MOISTURE BARRIER FOIL (MYLAR).
     (b) Make a groove in the shape of a "V" with an angle of approximately 30 deg. on the NTF edges.
NOTE: A stainless steel or aluminum flexible ruler helps to make a straight groove.
     (c) Make sure that the groove is not deeper than 2/3 of the NTF thickness.
     (d) Remove loose particles with a VACUUM CLEANER.
WARNING: WHEN YOU PUT THE HOT AIR BLOWER DOWN, MAKE SURE THAT YOU PUT IT ON A HEAT-RESISTANT SURFACE. THE HOT PARTS OF THE BLOWER CAN CAUSE A FIRE.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS A GOOD FLOW OF AIR THROUGH THE WORK AREA. FUMES FROM WELDING ARE POISONOUS.
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH HOT PARTS WITHOUT APPLICABLE GLOVES. HOT PARTS CAN CAUSE AN INJURY.
     (e) Obey the manufacturer's instructions when you use the hot air blower.
     (f) Set the working temperature on the HOT AIR BLOWER MAX OPERATING 370 DEG C (700 DEG F) between 160 deg.C (320.00 deg.F) and 200 deg.C (392.00 deg.F).
     (g) Cut the welding rod Cord-Welding PVC - (Material No.14RCB1) some centimeters / inches longer than the necessary length.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT:
  • THE TEMPERATURE OF THE HOT AIR BLOWER IS NOT TOO HIGH
  • THE BLOWER DOES NOT MOVE TOO SLOWLY ALONG THE WELD.
HIGH TEMPERATURES OR SLOW MOVEMENT OF THE HOT AIR BLOWER CAN BURN THE MATERIAL.
     (h) Put the welding rod into the inlet of the speed welding nozzle.
     (i) Move the speed welding nozzle with light pressure and constant speed along the groove.
     (j) Make the welded joint smooth.
   (4) Apply sealant:
     (a) Make sure that the NTF surface is dry, dust and oil free. If necessary clean it with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
     (b) Install Adhesive Film Tape-Masking - - (Material No.05RDA1) around the edges and cutouts of the NTF, where the primer will be applied.
     (c) Apply primer:
NOTE: The primer is not necessary for sealant in clearances between silicone NTF.
     (d) Apply Adhesion Promoter-For Silicone Sealant - - (Material No.06PBG1) (4) with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) :
  • Into all clearances between the NTF (3) and the furnishing (toilet, galley, etc)
  • Around all NTF contours
  • Around all cutouts.
     (e) Apply a bead of Silicone Sealant-Non Textile Floor Jointing One part - (Material No.06BQD1) (4) to:
  • All NTF contours.
  • All clearances between two pieces of NTF (3) which are not welded
  • All clearances between the NTF (3) and the furnishing (toilet, galley, etc)
  • All cutouts.
     (f) Remove the unwanted sealant with a SPATULA - NON METALLIC immediately.
     (g) Remove the masking tape.
NOTE: The curing time for the sealant, for 2 mm (0.0787 in.) to 3 mm (0.1181 in.) thickness, is 24 hours.
