Installation of the Pressure/Suction/Case Drain/Return Piping of the Green Hydraulic System in the Engine Pylon

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.
WARNING:
DO NOT GET HYDRAULIC FLUID ON YOUR SKIN, IN YOUR EYES OR IN YOUR MOUTH. HYDRAULIC FLUID IS POISONOUS AND CAN GO THROUGH YOUR SKIN AND INTO YOUR BODY. FLUSH HYDRAULIC FLUID FROM YOUR EYES, MOUTH OR SKIN WITH WATER. GET MEDICAL AID IF YOU GET HYDRAULIC FLUID IN YOUR EYES OR MOUTH.
CAUTION:
DO NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.
CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(2) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(3) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
(4) Make sure that the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(5) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
(8) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
Subtask 29-11-49-865-080-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(2) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(3) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
(4) Make sure that the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(5) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
- Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend off).
- Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate this pushbutton switch.
- On the HYD section of overhead panel 40VU
- On ground service panel 197CB.
(8) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
- Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
- Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
- Make sure that WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
- Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
- Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

(3) Make sure that a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is in position below the hydraulic lines.

(1) Removal of the fairings.
(a) Make sure that the aft movable fairing is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 54-55-00-000-001).
(b) Make sure that the lower fairing is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 54-56-00-000-001).
(c) Make sure that the aft fixed fairing is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 54-54-00-000-001).
(2) Make sure that the fire extinguisher bottles are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 26-21-41-000-001).
(3) Make sure that the engine fire-extinguishing pipe is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 26-21-49-000-002).
(4) Make sure that the bleed-air precooler exchanger is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-42-000-001).
4. Procedure(1) Removal of the fairings.
(a) Make sure that the aft movable fairing is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 54-55-00-000-001).
(b) Make sure that the lower fairing is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 54-56-00-000-001).
(c) Make sure that the aft fixed fairing is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 54-54-00-000-001).
(2) Make sure that the fire extinguisher bottles are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 26-21-41-000-001).
(3) Make sure that the engine fire-extinguishing pipe is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 26-21-49-000-002).
(4) Make sure that the bleed-air precooler exchanger is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-42-000-001).
Subtask 29-11-49-420-093-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Aft Pressure/Suction/Case Drain/Return Piping
Aft Pressure/Suction/Case Drain/Return Piping of the Green Hydraulic System in the Engine Pylon ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Remove the blanking plugs from the line ends.
(4) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(5) Put the pump delivery hose (1) in position in the engine pylon.
(6) Connect the pump delivery hose (1) to the wing pipe (13) and the middle pipe (5).
(7) TORQUE the pump delivery hose (1) to between 9.5 and 8.5 m.daN (70.06 and 62.68 lbf.ft ).
(8) Put the pump suction hose (2) in position in the engine pylon.
(9) Connect the pump suction hose (2) to the wing pipe (12) and the middle pipe (6).
(10) TORQUE the pump suction hose (2) to between 9.5 and 8.5 m.daN (70.06 and 62.68 lbf.ft ).
(11) Adjustment of the suction and delivery hoses in the pylon:
(a) With a RULER - GRADUATED, measure the distances between the suction and delivery hoses and the aft fixed-pylon-fairing RIB13.
Aft Pressure/Suction/Case Drain/Return Piping of the Green Hydraulic System in the Engine Pylon ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(b) Make sure that the suction and delivery hoses are at an equal distance from the aft fixed-pylon-fairing RIB13.
(12) Put the return hose (3) of the thrust-reverser hydraulic control-unit in position in the engine pylon.
(13) Connect the return hose (3) of the thrust-reverser hydraulic control-unit to the wing pipe (14) and the middle pipe (7).
(14) TORQUE the return hose (3) of the thrust-reverser hydraulic control-unit to the wing pipe (14) to between 8.3 and 7.5 m.daN (61.21 and 55.31 lbf.ft ).
(15) TORQUE the return hose (3) of the thrust-reverser hydraulic control-unit to the middle pipe (7) to between 8.3 and 7.5 m.daN (61.21 and 55.31 lbf.ft ).
(16) Put the pump-case drain hose (4) in position in the engine pylon.
(17) Connect the pump-case drain hose (4) to the wing pipe (11) and the middle pipe (8).
(18) TORQUE the pump-case drain hose (4) to between 3.2 and 2.9 m.daN (23.60 and 21.39 lbf.ft ).
(19) Install the bushing (12) and the clamp (11).
(20) Install the bolt (9).
(21) Install the nut (10) and tighten it.
Subtask 29-11-49-420-094-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL Aft Pressure/Suction/Case Drain/Return Piping of the Green Hydraulic System in the Engine Pylon ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Remove the blanking plugs from the line ends.
(4) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(5) Put the pump delivery hose (1) in position in the engine pylon.
(6) Connect the pump delivery hose (1) to the wing pipe (13) and the middle pipe (5).
(7) TORQUE the pump delivery hose (1) to between 9.5 and 8.5 m.daN (70.06 and 62.68 lbf.ft )
. (8) Put the pump suction hose (2) in position in the engine pylon.
(9) Connect the pump suction hose (2) to the wing pipe (12) and the middle pipe (6).
(10) TORQUE the pump suction hose (2) to between 9.5 and 8.5 m.daN (70.06 and 62.68 lbf.ft )
. (11) Adjustment of the suction and delivery hoses in the pylon:
(a) With a RULER - GRADUATED, measure the distances between the suction and delivery hoses and the aft fixed-pylon-fairing RIB13.
Aft Pressure/Suction/Case Drain/Return Piping of the Green Hydraulic System in the Engine Pylon ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (12) Put the return hose (3) of the thrust-reverser hydraulic control-unit in position in the engine pylon.
(13) Connect the return hose (3) of the thrust-reverser hydraulic control-unit to the wing pipe (14) and the middle pipe (7).
(14) TORQUE the return hose (3) of the thrust-reverser hydraulic control-unit to the wing pipe (14) to between 8.3 and 7.5 m.daN (61.21 and 55.31 lbf.ft )
. (15) TORQUE the return hose (3) of the thrust-reverser hydraulic control-unit to the middle pipe (7) to between 8.3 and 7.5 m.daN (61.21 and 55.31 lbf.ft )
. (16) Put the pump-case drain hose (4) in position in the engine pylon.
(17) Connect the pump-case drain hose (4) to the wing pipe (11) and the middle pipe (8).
(18) TORQUE the pump-case drain hose (4) to between 3.2 and 2.9 m.daN (23.60 and 21.39 lbf.ft )
. (19) Install the bushing (12) and the clamp (11).
(20) Install the bolt (9).
(21) Install the nut (10) and tighten it.
B. Installation of the Forward Pressure/Suction/Case Drain/Return Piping
Forward Pressure/Suction/Case Drain/Return Piping of the Green Hydraulic System in the Engine Pylon ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING from the line ends.
(4) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(5) Installation of the forward pressure/suction/case drain/return piping:
(a) Put the return pipe (2) in position in the engine pylon.
(b) Put the case drain pipe (3) in position in the engine pylon.
(c) Put the pressure pipe (4) in position in the engine pylon.
(d) Put the suction pipe (5) in position in the engine pylon.
(6) Connection of the forward pressure/case drain/return piping:
(a) Install the bushing (37).
(b) Install the clamp (36).
(c) Install the bolt (35), the washer (38) and the nut (39).
(d) Connect the case drain pipe (3) to the pipe (20).
(e) Connect the pressure pipe (4) to the pipe (19).
(7) Connection of the forward pressure/suction/case drain piping at the fluid disconnect panel:
(a) Connect the case drain pipe (3) to the hose (12).
(b) Install the washers (9), the bolts (8) and tighten.
(c) Connect the pressure pipe (4) to the quick-release coupling (13).
(d) Install the washers (7) and the bolts (6).
(e) Install the washer (11) and the bolt (10).
(f) Tighten the bolts (6) and (10).
(g) Connect the suction pipe (5) to the quick-release coupling (14).
(h) Install the washers (16), the bolts (15) and tighten.
(8) Installation of the pipe clamp blocks:
(a) Installation of the half clamp block (32) (detail D):
1 Install the obturator (34) and the half clamp block (32) on the half clamp block (33).
2 Seal the half clamp blocks (32) and (33) with Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) .
3 Install the bolts (29), the washers (28) and tighten.
4 Install the bolts (31) the nuts (30) and tighten.
(b) Installation of the clamp blocks (23), (24) and (25) (detail C):
1 Install the bushings (21).
2 Install the clamp blocks (23), (24) and (25) on the longitudinal bulkhead (27).
3 Install the nuts (26), the bolts (22) and tighten.
Subtask 29-11-49-420-094-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL Forward Pressure/Suction/Case Drain/Return Piping of the Green Hydraulic System in the Engine Pylon ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING from the line ends.
(4) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(5) Installation of the forward pressure/suction/case drain/return piping:
(a) Put the return pipe (2) in position in the engine pylon.
(b) Put the case drain pipe (3) in position in the engine pylon.
(c) Put the pressure pipe (4) in position in the engine pylon.
(d) Put the suction pipe (5) in position in the engine pylon.
(6) Connection of the forward pressure/case drain/return piping:
(a) Install the bushing (37).
(b) Install the clamp (36).
(c) Install the bolt (35), the washer (38) and the nut (39).
(d) Connect the case drain pipe (3) to the pipe (20).
(e) Connect the pressure pipe (4) to the pipe (19).
(7) Connection of the forward pressure/suction/case drain piping at the fluid disconnect panel:
(a) Connect the case drain pipe (3) to the hose (12).
(b) Install the washers (9), the bolts (8) and tighten.
(c) Connect the pressure pipe (4) to the quick-release coupling (13).
(d) Install the washers (7) and the bolts (6).
(e) Install the washer (11) and the bolt (10).
(f) Tighten the bolts (6) and (10).
(g) Connect the suction pipe (5) to the quick-release coupling (14).
(h) Install the washers (16), the bolts (15) and tighten.
(8) Installation of the pipe clamp blocks:
(a) Installation of the half clamp block (32) (detail D):
1 Install the obturator (34) and the half clamp block (32) on the half clamp block (33).
2 Seal the half clamp blocks (32) and (33) with Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) .
3 Install the bolts (29), the washers (28) and tighten.
4 Install the bolts (31) the nuts (30) and tighten.
(b) Installation of the clamp blocks (23), (24) and (25) (detail C):
1 Install the bushings (21).
2 Install the clamp blocks (23), (24) and (25) on the longitudinal bulkhead (27).
3 Install the nuts (26), the bolts (22) and tighten.
B. Installation of the Forward Pressure/Suction/Case Drain/Return Piping
Forward Pressure/Suction/Case Drain/Return Piping of the Green Hydraulic System in the Engine Pylon ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING from the line ends.
(4) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(5) Installation of the forward pressure/suction/case drain/return piping:
(a) Put the return pipe (2) in position in the engine pylon.
(b) Put the case drain pipe (3) in position in the engine pylon.
(c) Put the pressure pipe (4) in position in the engine pylon.
(d) Put the suction pipe (5) in position in the engine pylon.
(6) Connection of the forward pressure/case drain/return piping:
(a) Install the bushing (37).
(b) Install the clamp (36).
(c) Install the bolt (35), the washer (38) and the nut (39).
(d) Connect the case drain pipe (3) to the pipe (20).
(e) Connect the pressure pipe (4) to the pipe (19).
(7) Connection of the forward pressure/suction/case drain piping at the fluid disconnect panel:
(a) Connect the case drain pipe (3) to the hose (12).
(b) Install the washers (9), the bolts (8) and tighten.
(c) Connect the pressure pipe (4) to the quick-release coupling (13).
(d) Install the washers (7) and the bolts (6).
(e) Install the washer (11) and the bolt (10).

(a) Put the return pipe (4) in position in the engine pylon.
(b) Put the case drain pipe (3) in position in the engine pylon.
(c) Put the pressure pipe (2) in position in the engine pylon.
(d) Put the suction pipe (1) in position in the engine pylon.
(6) Connection of the middle pressure/suction/case drain/return piping at the upper front spar:
(a) Use the 98D54003500000 SPECIAL WRENCH98D54003021000 SPECIAL WRENCH to connect the suction pipe (1) to the suction pipe (9).
(b) Connect the pressure pipe (2) to the pressure pipe (8).
(c) Connect the case drain pipe (3) to the case drain pipe (7).
(d) Connect the return pipe (4) to the return pipe (6).
(e) Install the bolts (10), the washers (11), the nuts (5) and tighten.
(f) Apply Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) to the bolts (10) and the nuts (5).

(b) TORQUE the coupling nut of the case drain pipe (7) to between 3.2 and 2.9 m.daN (23.60 and 21.39 lbf.ft ).
(c) TORQUE the coupling nut of the pressure pipe (8) to between 10.7 and 9.7 m.daN (78.91 and 71.53 lbf.ft ).
(d) TORQUE the coupling nut of the suction pipe (9) to between 18.1 and 15.8 m.daN (133.48 and 116.52 lbf.ft ).
(10) Remove the container.
