3. Job Set-up
Subtask 54-52-11-941-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position in the cockpit to tell persons not to start engine 1(2).
(2) On overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

B. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.

(1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041).

C. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position:
(a) For the left pylon, in zone 410
(b) For the right pylon, in zone 420.

D. Preparation for Installation
(1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2) Clean the parts retained from the removed component with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , if necessary.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.

E. Inspection of the Seal at Pylon Rib 5
(1) If the seal is damaged, remove it from its support and replace it (Ref. AMM TASK 54-52-11-000-004).

4. Procedure

A. Installation of the Access Panels

Access Panels ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

NOTE: The procedure is the same for all the access panels:

For the left pylon: 413AL 413CL 413DL 413EL 414AR 414CR
For the right pylon: 423AL 423CL 423DL 424AR 424CR 424ER.

(1) Put and hold the access panel (1) in position.
(2) When you install the screws (3). Do the electrical bonding at the applicable location of the access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(3) Install the washers (2) and the screws (3).
(4) Tighten the screws (3).
(5) Put and hold the access panel (4) in position.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT YOU INSTALL EACH OF THE SCREWS IN ITS CORRECT POSITION. THE SCREWS HAVE DIFFERENT LENGTHS. IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL EACH OF THE SCREWS IN ITS CORRECT POSITION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

(6) Install the washers (5) and the screws (6) and (7).
(7) Tighten the screws (6) and (7).

B. Check of the Out-of-flush Dimension

Access Panels - Clearance Check ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(1) Make sure that out-of-flush dimension A1 is 0 +1 mm or -1 mm (0.0000 +0.0394 in. or -0.0394 in.) between:

The fixed panel and access panel 413AL ( 423AL)
The fixed panel and access panel 414AR ( 424AR)
Access panels 413AL ( 423AL) and 413CL ( 423CL)
Access panel 414CR and pylon-to-wing access panel 414FR
Access panel 423CL and pylon-to-wing access panel 423FL
Access panels 414AR and 414CR
Access panels 423AL and 423CL
Access panels 413CL and 413EL
Access panels 424CR and 424ER
Access panel 413DL ( 423DL) and pylon-to-wing access panel 414FR ( 423FL).

(2) Make sure that out-of-flush dimension A2 is 0 +0.5 mm or -0.5 mm (0.0000 +0.0197 in. or -0.0197 in.) between:
