Removal of the Aft Movable Fairing

Subtask 54-55-00-941-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start engine 1(2).
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.
   (1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041).
   (2) Set the slat/flap control lever to position 2 (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.
   (1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012).
   (2) Set the slat/flap control lever to position 2 (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).

C. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position:
     (a) For the left pylon, at zone 470
     (b) For the right pylon, at zone 480.
   (2) Remove the pylon-to-wing access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-002):
     (a) For the left pylon: 477AL, 475CL and 476CR
     (b) For the right pylon: 487AR, 486CR and 485CL.

C. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position:
     (a) For the left pylon, at zone 470
     (b) For the right pylon, at zone 480.
   (2) Remove the pylon-to-wing access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-002):
     (a) For the left pylon: 477AL, 475BL and 475BR
     (b) For the right pylon: 487AR, 485BR and 485BL.
4. Procedure
Subtask 54-55-00-020-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Aft Movable Fairing

CAUTION: WHEN YOU REMOVE THE SCREWS, MAKE SURE THAT YOU RECORD THE CORRECT POSITION OF EACH OF THEM. THE SCREWS HAVE DIFFERENT LENGTHS.
   (1) Remove the bolt (21) and the washer (23).
   (2) Disconnect the bonding lead (19) from the link assembly (24).
   (3) Remove the cotter pin (18) and discard it.
   (4) Remove the nut (17) and the pin (12).
   (5) Hold the link assembly (24) and remove the nut (16).
   (6) Remove the pin (13).
   (7) Disconnect the link assembly (24) from the fork fitting assembly (14).
   (8) Remove the bushing (15) from the fork fitting assembly (14).
   (9) Remove the nut (8), the bolt (5) and the washer (6).
   (10) Disconnect the bonding lead (7) from the forward fitting assembly (3).
   (11) Remove the cotter pins (9) and discard them.
   (12) Remove the nuts (10) and the pins (1).
   (13) Hold the forward fitting assembly (3) and remove the nuts (11).
   (14) Remove the pins (2).
   (15) Remove the bushings (4) from the forward fitting assembly (3).
   (16) Remove the forward fitting assembly (3) of the aft movable fairing from the pylon.
   (17) Remove the bolt (20) and the washer (22).
   (18) Disconnect the bonding lead (30) from the link assembly (24).
   (19) Remove the cotter pin (29) and discard it.
   (20) Remove the nut (28) and the pin (32).
   (21) Remove the nut (27) and the pin (31).
   (22) Remove the link assembly (24) from the fork fitting assembly (25).
   (23) Remove the bushing (26) from the fork fitting assembly (25).
Subtask 54-55-00-020-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Aft Movable Fairing

CAUTION: WHEN YOU REMOVE THE SCREWS, MAKE SURE THAT YOU RECORD THE CORRECT POSITION OF EACH OF THEM. THE SCREWS HAVE DIFFERENT LENGTHS.
   (1) Remove the bolt (19) and the washer (29).
   (2) Disconnect the bonding lead (18) from the link assembly (21).
   (3) Remove the cotter pin (17) and discard it.
   (4) Remove the nut (16) and the pin (11).
   (5) Hold the link assembly (21) and remove the nut (15).
   (6) Remove the pin (12).
   (7) Disconnect the rod assembly (21) from the fork fitting assembly (13).
   (8) Remove the bushing (14) from the fork fitting assembly (13).
   (9) Remove the nut (9) and the bolt (10).
   (10) Disconnect the bonding lead (8) from the forward fitting assembly (3).
   (11) Remove the cotter pins (7) and discard them.
   (12) Remove the nuts (6) and the pins (1).
   (13) Hold the forward fitting assembly (3) and remove the nuts (5).
   (14) Remove the pins (2).
   (15) Remove the bushings (4) from the forward fitting assembly (3).
   (16) Remove the forward fitting assembly (3) of the aft movable fairing from the pylon.
   (17) Remove the bolt (20) and the washer (22).
   (18) Disconnect the bonding lead (28) from the link assembly (21).
   (19) Remove the cotter pin (27) and discard it.
   (20) Remove the nut (26) and the pin (31).
   (21) Remove the nut (25) and the pin (30).
   (22) Remove the link assembly (21) from the fork fitting assembly (23).
   (23) Remove the bushing (24) from the fork fitting assembly (23).
