Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) for Ground Maintenance
WARNING:
DO NOT CAUSE A BLOCKAGE OF THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) RETURN PORT TO DEACTIVATE THE HCU. IF YOU CAUSE A BLOCKAGE OF THE HCU RETURN PORT THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTLY AND CAUSE INJURY OR DAMAGE.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

Subtask 78-30-00-941-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) on the Thrust levers to tell persons that the Thrust Reverser HCU is deactivated.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) on the Thrust levers to tell persons that the Thrust Reverser HCU is deactivated.

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.
4. Procedure(1) Open the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.

A. Deactivate the Thrust Reverser HCU with Lockout Pin with red warning flag (IAE 1N20010)
(2) Install the IAE1N20010 LOCKOUT PIN - THRUST REVERSER (2) with the red warning flag (4), in the lockout hole of the HCU.
WARNING:
DO NOT CAUSE A BLOCKAGE OF THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) RETURN PORT TO DEACTIVATE THE HCU. IF YOU CAUSE A BLOCKAGE OF THE HCU RETURN PORT THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTLY AND CAUSE INJURY OR DAMAGE.
(1) Set the lockout lever (3) on the HCU (1) to the lockout position. (2) Install the IAE1N20010 LOCKOUT PIN - THRUST REVERSER (2) with the red warning flag (4), in the lockout hole of the HCU.
