A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine 1(2).
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
(a) For the left pylon, in zone 410
(b) For the right pylon, in zone 420.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.

(1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041).

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.

(1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012).

4. Procedure
Subtask 54-52-11-020-058-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the Access Panels and the Cantilever Cover Assemblies

Access Panels ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(1) For cantilever cover assemblies 411BT( 421BT) and 411AT( 421AT):
(a) Remove cantilever cover assemblies 411BT( 421BT) and 411AT( 421AT) (Ref. AMM TASK 54-52-12-300-001).
(2) For access panels 413AL, 413CL, 413DT, 413AR, 413CR, 423AL, 423CL, 423DT, 423AR and 423CR:
(a) Hold the access panels (1).
(b) Remove the screws (3) and the washers (2).
(c) Remove the access panels (1):

For the left pylon 413AL, 413CL, 413DT, 413AR and 413CR
For the right pylon 423AL, 423CL, 423DT, 423AR and 423CR.
