Subtask 26-21-49-941-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE/CRANK/NORM/IGN/START selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine 1(2).
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On the maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (4) On the AIR COND panel 30VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switch is released.
     (b) Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released.
     (c) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
   (5) In the cockpit, on the HP ground connector:
     (a) put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Remove the engine fan air valve (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-54-000-001):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
engine fan air valve 9HA1,
     (b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)
engine fan air valve 9HA2.
   (2) Remove the overpressure valve (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-53-000-001):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
overpressure valve 5HA1,
     (b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)
overpressure valve 5HA2.

B. Disconnection of the Electrical Connectors from the Fire Extinguisher Bottles
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE CARTRIDGE BEFORE YOU DO THE PROCEDURE APPLICABLE TO DEVICES THAT ARE SENSITIVE TO ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE. ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE CAN CAUSE THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER BOTTLE TO RELEASE ITS CONTENTS SUDDENLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
   (1) If the two fire extinguisher bottles are not installed, go to Para. 4.D.
   (2) Do the steps that follow for each fire extinguisher bottle:
     (a) Before you touch the cartridge, refer to the handling precautions for devices that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (Ref. AMM TASK 20-15-00-910-001).
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
     (b) Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the cartridge (1).
     (c) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
Subtask 26-21-49-481-054-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
C. Installation of the Safety Tool
WARNING: BEFORE YOU TOUCH THE POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE, MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE GROUNDED AND THAT YOU INSTALL A SHUNT DEVICE ON IT. USE A CAP OR PLUG AS SHUNT DEVICE (THE CAP OR PLUG WILL SHUNT THE PINS TOGETHER ON THE CARTRIDGE). DO NOT USE A FOIL SHUNT. IF YOU TOUCH A POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE THAT DOES NOT HAVE A SHUNT DEVICE INSTALLED, AN EXPLOSION CAN OCCUR AND CAUSE INJURIES TO YOU.
   (1) If the two fire extinguisher bottles are not installed, go to Para. 4.D.
   (2) Do this step for each fire extinguisher bottle:
     (a) Put a 53100141-1 PLUG, SHUNTM83723-60-18AN CAP, PROTECTIVE on the cartridge (1).

D. Removal of the Engine Fire-Extinguishing Pipes
   (1) Do the steps that follow to remove the fire extinguishing pipe (13):
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (a) Remove the lockwire as follows:
       1 Cut and discard the lockwire between the knurled nut (14) of the fire extinguishing pipe (13) and the union (16).
       2 Cut and discard the lockwire between the knurled nut (19) of the fire extinguishing pipe (26) and the end fitting (17) of the fire extinguishing pipe (13).
     (b) Loosen the knurled nut (14) of the fire extinguishing pipe (13) from the union (16).
     (c) Loosen the knurled nut (19) of the fire extinguishing pipe (26) from the end fitting (17) of the fire extinguishing pipe (13).
     (d) Discard the O-ring (15) from the union (16).
     (e) Discard the O-ring (18) from the end fitting (17) of the fire extinguishing pipe (13).
     (f) Remove the fire extinguishing pipe (13).
   (2) Do the steps that follow to remove the fire extinguishing pipe (26):
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (a) Remove the lockwire as follows:
       1 Cut and discard the lockwire between the knurled nut (25) of the fire extinguishing pipe (26) and the union (23).
       2 Cut and discard the lockwire between the knurled nut (20) of the fire extinguishing pipe (26) and the end fitting (22) of the fire extinguishing pipe (3).
     (b) Loosen the knurled nut (25) of the fire extinguishing pipe (26) from the union (23).
     (c) Loosen the knurled nut (20) of the fire extinguishing pipe (26) from the end fitting (22) of the fire extinguishing pipe (3).
     (d) Remove the bolts (27), the spacers (28) and the washers (29).
     (e) Remove the rubber pad (30).
     (f) Remove the fire extinguishing pipe (26) from the support (31).
     (g) Discard the O-ring (24) from the union (23).
     (h) Discard the O-ring (21) from the end fitting (22) of the fire extinguishing pipe (3).
     (i) Remove the fire extinguishing pipe (26).
   (3) Do the steps that follow to remove the fire extinguishing pipe (3):
     (a) Remove the bolt (35) and the washer (34) from the clamp (33).
     (b) Remove the bolts (11) and the washers (12).
     (c) Disengage the fire extinguishing pipe (3) from the fire extinguishing pipe (10).
     (d) Remove the fire extinguishing pipe (3), the bushing (36) and the clamp (33) from the support (32).
     (e) Disengage the clamp (33) from the fire extinguishing pipe (3).
     (f) Discard the O-ring (4) from the fire extinguishing pipe (3).
     (g) Remove the fire extinguishing pipe (3).
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT EQUIPMENT FROM FLEXIBLE HOSES AND RIGID TUBING. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HOSES AND TUBES.
   (4) Do the steps that follow to remove the fire extinguishing pipe (10):
     (a) Remove the nuts (49), the washers (48) and the bolts (51), (52) and (53).
     (b) Remove the left lower-bulkhead assembly (50).
     (c) Remove the bolts (47) and the clamp (45) from the clamp block (46).
     (d) Remove the bolts (5) and the washers (6) from the fire extinguishing pipe (10).
     (e) Hold the nut (9) and loosen the union (8) of the fire extinguishing pipe (7).
     (f) Disengage the fire extinguishing pipe (10) from the fire extinguishing pipe (7).
     (g) Remove the fire extinguishing pipe (10).
   (5) Do the steps that follow to remove the fire extinguishing pipe (7):
     (a) Remove the bolts (44) and the nuts (43) from the fire extinguishing pipe (7).
     (b) Remove the bolt (39) and the nut (42) from the fire extinguishing pipe (7).
     (c) Remove the bolt (37), the washer (38) and the nut (41) from the clamp (40).
     (d) Discard the nuts (43), (42) and (41).
     (e) Remove the fire extinguishing pipe (7).
   (6) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.

D. Removal of the Engine Fire-Extinguishing Pipes
   (1) Do the steps that follow to remove the fire extinguishing pipe (13):
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (a) Remove the lockwire as follows:
       1 Cut and discard the lockwire between the knurled nut (14) of the fire extinguishing pipe (13) and the union (16).
       2 Cut and discard the lockwire between the knurled nut (19) of the fire extinguishing pipe (26) and the end fitting (17) of the fire extinguishing pipe (13).
     (b) Loosen the knurled nut (14) of the fire extinguishing pipe (13) from the union (16).
     (c) Loosen the knurled nut (19) of the fire extinguishing pipe (26) from the end fitting (17) of the fire extinguishing pipe (13).
     (d) Discard the O-ring (15) from the union (16).
     (e) Discard the O-ring (18) from the end fitting (17) of the fire extinguishing pipe (13).
     (f) Remove the fire extinguishing pipe (13).
   (2) Do the steps that follow to remove the fire extinguishing pipe (26):
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (a) Remove the lockwire as follows:
       1 Cut and discard the lockwire between the knurled nut (25) of the fire extinguishing pipe (26) and the union (23).
       2 Cut and discard the lockwire between the knurled nut (20) of the fire extinguishing pipe (26) and the end fitting (22) of the fire extinguishing pipe (3).
     (b) Loosen the knurled nut (25) of the fire extinguishing pipe (26) from the union (23).
     (c) Loosen the knurled nut (20) of the fire extinguishing pipe (26) from the end fitting (22) of the fire extinguishing pipe (3).
     (d) Remove the bolts (27), the spacers (28) and the washers (29).
     (e) Remove the rubber pad (30).
     (f) Remove the fire extinguishing pipe (26) from the support (31).
     (g) Discard the O-ring (24) from the union (23).
     (h) Discard the O-ring (21) from the end fitting (22) of the fire extinguishing pipe (3).
     (i) Remove the fire extinguishing pipe (26).
   (3) Do the steps that follow to remove the fire extinguishing pipe (3):
     (a) Remove the bolt (35) and the washer (34) from the clamp (33).
     (b) Remove the bolts (11) and the washers (12).
     (c) Disengage the fire extinguishing pipe (3) from the fire extinguishing pipe (10).
     (d) Remove the fire extinguishing pipe (3), the bushing (36) and the clamp (33) from the support (32).
     (e) Disengage the clamp (33) from the fire extinguishing pipe (3).
     (f) Discard the O-ring (4) from the fire extinguishing pipe (3).
     (g) Remove the fire extinguishing pipe (3).
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT EQUIPMENT FROM FLEXIBLE HOSES AND RIGID TUBING. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HOSES AND TUBES.
   (4) Do the steps that follow to remove the fire extinguishing pipe (10):
     (a) Remove the nuts (53), the washers (52) and the bolts (55), (56) and (57).
     (b) Remove the left lower-bulkhead assembly (54).
     (c) Remove the bolts (51) and the clamp (49) from the clamp block (50).
     (d) Remove the bolts (5) and the washers (6) from the fire extinguishing pipe (10).
     (e) Hold the nut (9) and loosen the union (8) of the fire extinguishing pipe (7).
     (f) Disengage the fire extinguishing pipe (10) from the fire extinguishing pipe (7).
     (g) Remove the fire extinguishing pipe (10).
   (5) Do the steps that follow to remove the fire extinguishing pipe (38):
     (a) Remove the bolt (44), the washer (43) and the nut (42) from the fire extinguishing pipe (38).
     (b) Remove the bolt (39), the washer (40) and the nut (41) from the fire extinguishing pipe (38).
     (c) Discard the nuts (42) and (41).
     (d) Hold the nut (45) and loosen the union (37) of the fire extinguishing pipe (38).
     (e) Remove the fire extinguishing pipe (38).
   (6) Do the steps that follow to remove the fire extinguishing pipe (7):
     (a) Remove the bolt (46), the washer (47) and the nut (48) from the fire extinguishing pipe (7).
     (b) Discard the nut (48).
     (c) Remove the fire extinguishing pipe (7).
   (7) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
