A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE/CRANK/NORM/IGN/START selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (3) On the AIR COND panel 30VU, make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED and APU BLEED pushbutton switches are released. Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
   (4) In the cockpit, on the HP ground connector, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.

WARNING: BEFORE YOU TOUCH THE POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE, MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE GROUNDED AND THAT YOU INSTALL A SHUNT DEVICE ON IT. USE A CAP OR PLUG AS SHUNT DEVICE (THE CAP OR PLUG WILL SHUNT THE PINS TOGETHER ON THE CARTRIDGE). DO NOT USE A FOIL SHUNT. IF YOU TOUCH A POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE THAT DOES NOT HAVE A SHUNT DEVICE INSTALLED, AN EXPLOSION CAN OCCUR AND CAUSE INJURIES TO YOU.
G. Installation of the Safety Tool
F Fire Extinguisher Bottle ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Make sure that the 53100141-1 PLUG, SHUNTM83723-60-18AN CAP, PROTECTIVE are installed on the two cartridges (1).
4. Procedure
Subtask 26-21-49-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Engine Fire-Extinguishing Pipes
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (4) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
   (5) Do the steps that follow to install the fire extinguishing pipe (7):
     (a) Put the fire extinguishing pipe (7) in the correct position.
     (b) Install the bolt (37), the washer (38) and the new AIPC 26-21-06-01-100 NUT (41) on the clamp (40).
     (c) Install the bolt (39) and the new
AIPC 26-21-06-01-100 NUT (42) on the fire extinguishing pipe (7).
     (d) Install the bolts (44) and the new
AIPC 26-21-06-01-100 NUTS (43) on the fire extinguishing pipe (7).
     (e) Tighten the bolts (37), (39) and (44).
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT EQUIPMENT FROM FLEXIBLE HOSES AND RIGID TUBING. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HOSES AND TUBES.
   (6) Do the steps that follow to install the fire extinguishing pipe (10):
     (a) Put the fire extinguishing pipe (10) in the correct position.
     (b) Hold the nut (9) and tighten the union (8) of the fire extinguishing pipe (7).
     (c) TORQUE the union (8) to between 900 and 800 lbf.in (10.17 and 9.04 m.daN )
T of the fire extinguishing pipe (7).
     (d) Measure the clearance between the bracket assembly of the fire extinguishing pipe and the cross beam, and install a shim as necessary (
Ref. AMM TASK 26-21-49-820-001).
     (e) Install the washers (6) and the bolts (5) on the fire extinguishing pipe (10).
     (f) Install the clamp (45) on the clamp block (46) with the bolts (47).
     (g) Tighten the bolts (47).
     (h) Put the left lower-bulkhead assembly (50) in the correct position.
     (i) Install the bolts (51), (52) and (53), the washers (48) and the nuts (49).
     (j) Tighten the nuts (49).
     (k) Apply a layer of Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.06ABB1) with a brush around the fire extinguishing pipe (10) and against the left lower-bulkhead assembly (50).
   (7) Do the steps that follow to install the fire extinguishing pipe (3):
     (a) Put a new AIPC 26-21-06-01-150 ORING (4) in the correct position on the fire extinguishing pipe (10).
     (b) Put the fire extinguishing pipe (3) in the correct position.
     (c) Put the clamp (33), the bushing (36) and the fire extinguishing pipe (3) in their correct position.
     (d) Install the washer (34) and the bolt (35) on the clamp (33).
     (e) Tighten the bolt (35).
     (f) Install the washers (12) and the bolts (11).
     (g) Tighten the bolts (11).
   (8) Do the steps that follow to install the fire extinguishing pipe (26):
     (a) Put the new
AIPC 26-21-06-01-150 ORING (21) in the correct position on the end fitting (22) of the fire extinguishing pipe (3).
     (b) Install the fire extinguishing pipe (26) in the correct position between the fire extinguishing pipe (3), the union (23) and the support (31).
     (c) Install the rubber pad (30) on the fire extinguishing pipe (26) and on the support (31).
     (d) Install the washers (29), the spacers (28) and the bolts (27).
NOTE: Airbus recommends not to tighten the bolts (27) at this time.
     (e) Tighten the knurled nut (20) of the fire extinguishing pipe (26) fully with your hand.
     (f) Tighten the bolts (27).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (g) Safety the knurled nut (20) of the fire extinguishing pipe (26) and the end fitting (22) of the fire extinguishing pipe (3) with 14QGC1Wire-Locking Dia: 1 mm (0.041 inch) CRES -.
   (9) Do the steps that follow to install the fire extinguishing pipe (13):
     (a) Put the new
AIPC 26-21-06-01-150 ORING (18) in the correct position on the end fitting (17) of the fire extinguishing pipe (13).
     (b) Install the fire extinguishing pipe (13) in the correct position between the fire extinguishing pipe (26) and the union (16).
     (c) Tighten the knurled nut (19) of the fire extinguishing pipe (26) fully with your hand.
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (d) Safety the knurled nut (19) of the fire extinguishing pipe (26) and the end fitting (17) of the fire extinguishing pipe (13) with 14QGC1Wire-Locking Dia: 1 mm (0.041 inch) CRES -.
Subtask 26-21-49-420-052-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Engine Fire-Extinguishing Pipes
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (4) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
   (5) Do the steps that follow to install the fire extinguishing pipe (7):
     (a) Put the fire extinguishing pipe (7) in the correct position.
     (b) Install the bolt (37), the washer (38) and the new
AIPC 26-21-06-01-100 NUT (41) on the clamp (40).
     (c) Install the bolt (39) and the new
AIPC 26-21-06-01-100 NUT (42) on the fire extinguishing pipe (7).
     (d) Install the bolts (44) and the new
AIPC 26-21-06-01-100 NUTS (43) on the fire extinguishing pipe (7).
     (e) Tighten the bolts (37), (39) and (44).
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT EQUIPMENT FROM FLEXIBLE HOSES AND RIGID TUBING. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HOSES AND TUBES.
   (6) Do the steps that follow to install the fire extinguishing pipe (10):
     (a) Put the fire extinguishing pipe (10) in the correct position.
     (b) Hold the nut (9) and tighten the union (8) of the fire extinguishing pipe (7).
     (c) TORQUE the union (8) to between 900 and 800 lbf.in (10.17 and 9.04 m.daN )
T of the fire extinguishing pipe (7).
     (d) Install the washers (6) and the bolts (5) on the fire extinguishing pipe (10).
     (e) Install the clamp (45) on the clamp block (46) with the bolts (47).
     (f) Tighten the bolts (47).
     (g) Put the left lower-bulkhead assembly (50) in the correct position.
     (h) Install the bolts (51), (52) and (53), the washers (48) and the nuts (49).
     (i) Tighten the nuts (49).
     (j) Apply a layer of Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.
06ABB1) with a brush around the fire extinguishing pipe (10) and against the left lower-bulkhead assembly (50).
   (7) Do the steps that follow to install the fire extinguishing pipe (3):
     (a) Put a new AIPC 26-21-06-01-150 ORING (4) in the correct position on the fire extinguishing pipe (10).
     (b) Put the fire extinguishing pipe (3) in the correct position.
     (c) Put the clamp (33), the bushing (36) and the fire extinguishing pipe (3) in their correct position.
     (d) Install the washer (34) and the bolt (35) on the clamp (33).
     (e) Tighten the bolt (35).
     (f) Install the washers (12) and the bolts (11).
     (g) Tighten the bolts (11).
   (8) Do the steps that follow to install the fire extinguishing pipe (26):
     (a) Put the new
AIPC 26-21-06-01-150 ORING (21) in the correct position on the end fitting (22) of the fire extinguishing pipe (3).
     (b) Install the fire extinguishing pipe (26) in the correct position between the fire extinguishing pipe (3), the union (23) and the support (31).
     (c) Install the rubber pad (30) on the fire extinguishing pipe (26) and on the support (31).
     (d) Install the washers (29), the spacers (28) and the bolts (27).
NOTE: Airbus recommends not to tighten the bolts (27) at this time.
     (e) Tighten the knurled nut (20) of the fire extinguishing pipe (26) fully with your hand.
     (f) Tighten the bolts (27).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (g) Safety the knurled nut (20) of the fire extinguishing pipe (26) and the end fitting (22) of the fire extinguishing pipe (3) with 14QGC1Wire-Locking Dia: 1 mm (0.041 inch) CRES -.
   (9) Do the steps that follow to install the fire extinguishing pipe (13):
     (a) Put the new
AIPC 26-21-06-01-150 ORING (18) in the correct position on the end fitting (17) of the fire extinguishing pipe (13).
     (b) Install the fire extinguishing pipe (13) in the correct position between the fire extinguishing pipe (26) and the union (16).
     (c) Tighten the knurled nut (19) of the fire extinguishing pipe (26) fully with your hand.
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (d) Safety the knurled nut (19) of the fire extinguishing pipe (26) and the end fitting (17) of the fire extinguishing pipe (13) with 14QGC1Wire-Locking Dia: 1 mm (0.041 inch) CRES -.
Subtask 26-21-49-420-052-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Engine Fire-Extinguishing Pipes
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (4) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
   (5) Do the steps that follow to install the fire extinguishing pipe (7):
     (a) Put the fire extinguishing pipe (7) in the correct position.
     (b) Install the washer (47), the bolt (46) and the new
AIPC 26-21-06-01-100 NUT (48) on the fire extinguishing pipe (7).
     (c) Tighten the bolt (46).
   (6) Do the steps that follow to install the fire extinguishing pipe (38):
     (a) Put the fire extinguishing pipe (38) in the correct position.
     (b) Install the washer (40), the bolt (39) and the new
AIPC 26-21-06-01-100 NUT (41) on the fire extinguishing pipe (38).
     (c) Install the washer (43), the bolt (44) and the new
AIPC 26-21-06-01-100 NUT (42) on the fire extinguishing pipe (38).
     (d) Tighten the bolts (39) and (44).
     (e) Hold the nut (45) and tighten the union (37) of the fire extinguishing pipe (38).
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT EQUIPMENT FROM FLEXIBLE HOSES AND RIGID TUBING. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HOSES AND TUBES.
   (7) Do the steps that follow to install the fire extinguishing pipe (10):
     (a) Put the fire extinguishing pipe (10) in the correct position.
     (b) Hold the nut (9) and tighten the union (8) of the fire extinguishing pipe (7).
     (c) TORQUE the union (8) to between 900 and 800 lbf.in (10.17 and 9.04 m.daN )
T of the fire extinguishing pipe (7).
     (d) Install the washers (6) and the bolts (5) on the fire extinguishing pipe (10).
     (e) Install the clamp (49) on the clamp block (50) with the bolts (51).
     (f) Tighten the bolts (51).
     (g) Put the left lower-bulkhead assembly (54) in the correct position.
     (h) Install the bolts (55), (56) and (57), the washers (52) and the nuts (53).
     (i) Tighten the nuts (53).
     (j) Apply a layer of Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.
06ABB1) with a brush around the fire extinguishing pipe (10) and against the left lower-bulkhead assembly (54).
   (8) Do the steps that follow to install the fire extinguishing pipe (3):
     (a) Put a new AIPC 26-21-06-01-150 ORING (4) in the correct position on the fire extinguishing pipe (10).
     (b) Put the fire extinguishing pipe (3) in the correct position.
     (c) Put the clamp (33), the bushing (36) and the fire extinguishing pipe (3) in their correct position.
     (d) Install the washer (34) and the bolt (35) on the clamp (33).
     (e) Tighten the bolt (35).
     (f) Install the washers (12) and the bolts (11).
     (g) Tighten the bolts (11).
   (9) Do the steps that follow to install the fire extinguishing pipe (26):
     (a) Put the new
AIPC 26-21-06-01-150 ORING (21) in the correct position on the end fitting (22) of the fire extinguishing pipe (3).
     (b) Install the fire extinguishing pipe (26) in the correct position between the fire extinguishing pipe (3), the union (23) and the support (31).
     (c) Install the rubber pad (30) on the fire extinguishing pipe (26) and on the support (31).
     (d) Install the washers (29), the spacers (28) and the bolts (27).
NOTE: Airbus recommends not to tighten the bolts (27) at this time.

     (g) Safety the knurled nut (20) of the fire extinguishing pipe (26) and the end fitting (22) of the fire extinguishing pipe (3) with 14QGC1Wire-Locking Dia: 1 mm (0.041 inch) CRES -.
   (10) Do the steps that follow to install the fire extinguishing pipe (13):
     (a) Put the new
AIPC 26-21-06-01-150 ORING (18) in the correct position on the end fitting (17) of the fire extinguishing pipe (13).
     (b) Install the fire extinguishing pipe (13) in the correct position between the fire extinguishing pipe (26) and the union (16).
     (c) Tighten the knurled nut (19) of the fire extinguishing pipe (26) fully with your hand.

     (a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
     (b) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
     (c) Connect the electrical connector (2) to the cartridge (1).
