(a) Before you touch the cartridge, do the procedure for devices that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (Ref. AMM TASK 20-15-00-910-001).
(b) Disconnect the electrical connector (10) from the pressure switch (2).
(c) Disconnect the electrical connector (3) from the cartridge (4).
(d) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.

B. Safety Precautions

(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE CARTRIDGE BEFORE YOU DO THE PROCEDURE APPLICABLE TO DEVICES THAT ARE SENSITIVE TO ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE. ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE CAN CAUSE THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER BOTTLE TO RELEASE ITS CONTENTS SUDDENLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
F. Disconnection of the Electrical Connector from the Two Fire Extinguisher Bottles NOTE: If the two fire extinguisher bottles are not installed, go to Para 4.A.
(1) Do these steps for each fire extinguisher bottle: (a) Before you touch the cartridge, do the procedure for devices that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (Ref. AMM TASK 20-15-00-910-001).
(b) Disconnect the electrical connector (10) from the pressure switch (2).
(c) Disconnect the electrical connector (3) from the cartridge (4).
(d) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
G. Installation of the Safety Tools
(a) Put a 53100141-1 PLUG, SHUNTM83723-60-18AN CAP, PROTECTIVE on the cartridge (4).
Subtask 26-21-00-020-071-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
BEFORE YOU TOUCH THE POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE, MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE GROUNDED AND THAT YOU INSTALL A SHUNT DEVICE ON IT. USE A CAP OR PLUG AS SHUNT DEVICE (THE CAP OR PLUG WILL SHUNT THE PINS TOGETHER ON THE CARTRIDGE). DO NOT USE A FOIL SHUNT.
IF YOU TOUCH A POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE THAT DOES NOT HAVE A SHUNT DEVICE INSTALLED, AN EXPLOSION CAN OCCUR AND CAUSE INJURIES TO YOU.
(1) Do this step for each fire extinguisher bottle: (a) Put a 53100141-1 PLUG, SHUNTM83723-60-18AN CAP, PROTECTIVE on the cartridge (4).
H. Disconnection of the Two Fire Extinguisher Bottles
(a) Remove the four bolts (9) and washers (8) that attach the fire-extinguisher bottle (1).
(b) Loosen the nut (5).
(c) Disconnect the line (6).
(d) Put blanking plug on the discharge head (7).
4. ProcedureWARNING:
BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU MOVE A FULL FIRE EXTINGUISHER BOTTLE. A SUDDEN OR HEAVY SHOCK TO A FULL BOTTLE CAN CAUSE UNWANTED DISCHARGE AND INJURY TO PERSONS.
(1) Do these steps for each fire extinguisher bottle: (a) Remove the four bolts (9) and washers (8) that attach the fire-extinguisher bottle (1).
(b) Loosen the nut (5).
(c) Disconnect the line (6).
(d) Put blanking plug on the discharge head (7).

A. Functional Test to Do a Check of the Distribution Piping for Leakage and Obstruction
(a) Connect the manifold adapter (12) (P/N 98D26203002058) to outlet I (detail D) of the line (6).
(b) Connect an AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the manifold assembly (13) (P/N 98D26203002040).
(c) Open the AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY and the tap (15) of the manifold assembly (13):
(2) Leak test
(a) Install the two plug assemblies (11) (P/N 98D26203002048) on outlets A and B (detail C) of the line (6).
(b) Install the exhaust plug (19) (P/N 98D26203002064) on outlet H (detail F) of the line (6).
(c) Install the exhaust plug (20) (P/N 98D26203002062) on outlet G (detail F) of the line (6).
(d) Install the blank (18) (P/N 98D26203002046) on outlet F (detail F) of the line (6).
(e) Install the three blanks (17) (P/N 98D26203002044) on outlets C, D and E (detail E) of the line (6).
(f) Open the AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY and the tap (15) of the manifold assembly (13).
1 Pressurize the line (6) to 2 bar (29 psi) through the manometer (16) of the manifold assembly (13).
(g) Close the tap (15) of the manifold assembly (13) to isolate the line (6).
(h) Monitor the line (6) for 10 minutes to:
1 Make sure that there is no leakage.
2 Make sure that the pressure does not decrease by more than 0.2 bar (3 psi).
(i) If the pressure decreases by more than 0.2 bar (3 psi), do a leak check:
1 Apply Testing Medium-Leak Detection - Oxygen System (Material No.14CCB6) on the line (6).
2 Examine the line (6) for leaks.
3 If you find a leak, replace the defective component(s) and do the leak check again.
4 Remove the Testing Medium-Leak Detection - Oxygen System (Material No.14CCB6) from the line (6) with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(j) Close the AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(k) Open the tap (14) of the manifold assembly (13) to depressurize the line (6).
(l) Disconnect the AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY from the manifold assembly (13).
(m) Disconnect the manifold adapter (12) from the outlet I (detail D) of the line (6).
(n) Remove the two plug assemblies (11) from outlets A and B (detail C) of the line (6).
(o) Remove the exhaust plug (19) from outlet H (detail F) of the line (6).
(p) Remove the exhaust plug (20) from outlet G (detail F) of the line (6).
(q) Remove the blank (18) from outlets F (detail F) of the line (6).
(r) Remove the three blanks (17) from outlets C, D and E (detail E) of the line (6).
Subtask 26-21-00-420-063-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: The P/Ns 98D26203002040, 98D26203002044, 98D26203002046, 98D26203002048, 98D26203002058, 98D26203002062 and 98D26203002064 are parts of the 98D26203002004 TEST TOOL - ENG. CFM56-5B, FIRE EXTINGUISHER SYSTEM.
(1) Obstruction test (a) Connect the manifold adapter (12) (P/N 98D26203002058) to outlet I (detail D) of the line (6).
(b) Connect an AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the manifold assembly (13) (P/N 98D26203002040).
(c) Open the AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY and the tap (15) of the manifold assembly (13):
- Make sure that the air flows from outlets C, D and E (detail E), F, G and H (detail F) and A and B (detail C).
(2) Leak test
(a) Install the two plug assemblies (11) (P/N 98D26203002048) on outlets A and B (detail C) of the line (6).
(b) Install the exhaust plug (19) (P/N 98D26203002064) on outlet H (detail F) of the line (6).
(c) Install the exhaust plug (20) (P/N 98D26203002062) on outlet G (detail F) of the line (6).
(d) Install the blank (18) (P/N 98D26203002046) on outlet F (detail F) of the line (6).
(e) Install the three blanks (17) (P/N 98D26203002044) on outlets C, D and E (detail E) of the line (6).
(f) Open the AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY and the tap (15) of the manifold assembly (13).
1 Pressurize the line (6) to 2 bar (29 psi) through the manometer (16) of the manifold assembly (13).
(g) Close the tap (15) of the manifold assembly (13) to isolate the line (6).
(h) Monitor the line (6) for 10 minutes to:
1 Make sure that there is no leakage.
2 Make sure that the pressure does not decrease by more than 0.2 bar (3 psi).
(i) If the pressure decreases by more than 0.2 bar (3 psi), do a leak check:
1 Apply Testing Medium-Leak Detection - Oxygen System (Material No.14CCB6) on the line (6).
2 Examine the line (6) for leaks.
3 If you find a leak, replace the defective component(s) and do the leak check again.
4 Remove the Testing Medium-Leak Detection - Oxygen System (Material No.14CCB6) from the line (6) with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(j) Close the AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(k) Open the tap (14) of the manifold assembly (13) to depressurize the line (6).
(l) Disconnect the AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY from the manifold assembly (13).
(m) Disconnect the manifold adapter (12) from the outlet I (detail D) of the line (6).
(n) Remove the two plug assemblies (11) from outlets A and B (detail C) of the line (6).
(o) Remove the exhaust plug (19) from outlet H (detail F) of the line (6).
(p) Remove the exhaust plug (20) from outlet G (detail F) of the line (6).
(q) Remove the blank (18) from outlets F (detail F) of the line (6).
(r) Remove the three blanks (17) from outlets C, D and E (detail E) of the line (6).
B. Connection of the Two Fire Extinguisher Bottles
(1) If the two fire extinguisher bottles are not installed, install them (Ref. AMM TASK 26-21-41-400-001) and go to Para. 5.A.
(2) If the fire extinguisher bottles are installed:
1 Install the four washers (8) and bolts (9) that attach the fire-extinguisher bottle (1) and tighten them.
2 Remove the blanking plug from the discharge head (7).
3 Connect the line (6) to the bottle (1).
(b) Tighten the nut (5) with your hand as follows:
Subtask 26-21-00-081-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) If the two fire extinguisher bottles are not installed, install them (Ref. AMM TASK 26-21-41-400-001) and go to Para. 5.A.
(2) If the fire extinguisher bottles are installed:
WARNING:

(a) Do these steps for each fire extinguisher bottle: 1 Install the four washers (8) and bolts (9) that attach the fire-extinguisher bottle (1) and tighten them.
2 Remove the blanking plug from the discharge head (7).
3 Connect the line (6) to the bottle (1).
(b) Tighten the nut (5) with your hand as follows:
- While you hold the nut pin out of its housing, fully tighten the nut (5).
- Loosen the nut (5) (not more than a quarter of turn) until the pin engages in its housing.
C. Removal of the Safety Tools
(a) Before you touch the cartridge, do the procedure for devices that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (Ref. AMM TASK 20-15-00-910-001).
(b) Remove the 53100141-1 PLUG, SHUNT or M83723-60-18AN CAP, PROTECTIVE from the cartridge (4).
Subtask 26-21-00-420-064-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE CARTRIDGE BEFORE YOU DO THE PROCEDURE APPLICABLE TO DEVICES THAT ARE SENSITIVE TO ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE. ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE CAN CAUSE THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER BOTTLE TO RELEASE ITS CONTENTS SUDDENLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.

D. Connection of the Electrical Connectors on the Two Fire Extinguisher Bottles
(1) Do these steps for each fire extinguisher bottle:
(a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(b) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(c) Connect the electrical connector (3) to the cartridge (4).
(d) Connect the electrical connector (10) to the pressure switch (2).
5. Close-up(1) Do these steps for each fire extinguisher bottle:
(a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(b) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(c) Connect the electrical connector (3) to the cartridge (4).
(d) Connect the electrical connector (10) to the pressure switch (2).
