     (a) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is in position on the flap/slat control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-480-002).
     (b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position on the flap/slat control lever to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat controls.

WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that the thrust reverser system is deactivated for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

F. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the thrust reverser cowl-doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

   (2) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position.
   (3) Make sure that these access doors are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-21-000-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)
415AL, 415BL, 415AR and 415BR
     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

G. Removal of the Components
   (1) Make sure that the two engine fire-extinguisher bottles are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 26-21-41-000-001).
   (2) Make sure that the engine fire-extinguishing bottle-supports are removed.
   (3) If necessary:
   (4) Make sure that the pylon fire-detector-harness ramp-assembly is disassembled.
   (5) Make sure that the thermal blanket is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-61-000-801).
4. Procedure
Subtask 26-21-49-420-058-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Engine Fire-Extinguisher Pipe (Aft Part)
   (1) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
   (2) Clean the mating surface of the elbow (6) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (3) Apply a layer of Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) on the mating surface of the elbow (6).
   (4) Put the pipe (1) in the correct position.
   (5) Install the pipe (1) on the pipe (2).
   (6) Install the three washers (4) and screws (3).
   (7) Tighten the screws (3).
   (8) Tighten the nut (5).
NOTE: Do not torque the nut (5) at this time.
   (9) Do an electrical bonding of the elbow (6) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (10) Apply a layer of Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) on the edge of surface of the elbow (6) and on the three washers (4) and screws (3).
   (11) Install the three clamps (8) on the supports (7).
   (12) Install the six washers (9) and bolts (10) on the three clamps (8).
   (13) Tighten the six bolts (10).
   (14) TORQUE the nut (5) to between 9.5 and 8.5 m.daN (70.06 and 62.68 lbf.ft ) T.

C. Installation of the Components
   (1) Install the thermal blanket (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-61-400-801).
   (2) Installation of the pylon fire-detector-harness ramp-assembly
     (a) Install the pylon fire-detector-harness ramp-assembly (22) on the supports (21) and hold it.
       1 Install the four washers (20) and bolts (19) and tighten the bolts (19).
     (b) Installation of the four sensing elements (15)
CAUTION: DO NOT USE ELECTRICAL OR PNEUMATIC TOOLS TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE QUARTER-TURN FASTENER ON THE FIRE DETECTOR CLAMP. ONLY USE A MANUAL SCREWDRIVER. ELECTRICAL OR PNEUMATIC TOOLS WILL CAUSE THE FASTENER TO TURN TOO MUCH AND POSSIBLY TO BREAK.
       1 Connect the four sensing elements (15) to the two responder units (12).
       2 Install the four nuts (13) and (14) on the two responder units (12).
         a TORQUE the two nuts (13) to between 0.28 and 0.23 m.daN (24.78 and 20.35 lbf.in ) T.
         b TORQUE the two nuts (14) to between 0.4 and 0.34 m.daN (35.40 and 30.09 lbf.in )
T.
       3 Engage the four sensing elements (15) in the four clamps (17).
       4 Close the four clamps (17) and turn the related quarter-turn fasteners (18) by one quarter of a turn.
   (3) If removed:
   (4) Installation of the engine fire-extinguishing bottle-supports.
     (a) Install the bracket (32).
       1 Install the bracket (32) on the support (36).
       2 Install the two bolts (41) and nuts (39) on the bracket (32) and tighten them.
       3 Install the two bolts (42) and nuts (37) on the bracket (32) and tighten them.
       4 Install the two bolts (40) and nuts (38) on the bracket (32) and tighten them.
       5 Install the clamp (33) with the duct (23) on the bracket (32).
       6 Install the two washers (34) and bolts (35) on the clamp (33) and tighten them.
     (b) Install the bracket (31).
       1 Install the bracket (31) on the support (28).
       2 Install the two bolts (30) and nuts (29) on the bracket (31) and tighten them.
     (c) Install the bracket (27).
       1 Install the bracket (27) on the support (24).
       2 Install the two bolts (25) and nuts (26) on the bracket (27) and tighten them.
   (5) Install the two engine fire-extinguisher bottles (Ref. AMM TASK 26-21-41-400-001).
