A. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that you did the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).
(2) Make sure that the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS or 98D27803500002 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS is installed on the flap and slat control lever.
(3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate the flaps and the slats.
Subtask 78-36-00-010-072-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that you did the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).
(2) Make sure that the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS or 98D27803500002 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS is installed on the flap and slat control lever.
(3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate the flaps and the slats.
B. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.
(3) Make sure the thrust reverser translating sleeves are retracted (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-860-803).
Subtask 78-36-00-040-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):

(3) Make sure the thrust reverser translating sleeves are retracted (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-860-803).
C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Ground Maintenance
4. ProcedureWARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).WARNING:
DO NOT KEEP OPEN A THRUST REVERSER DOOR WHEN THE WIND SPEED IS 46 MPH (74.0 KM/H) OR MORE. IF THE WIND MOVES THE THRUST REVERSER DOOR, INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL IF YOU OPEN/CLOSE A THRUST REVERSER DOOR WHEN THE WIND SPEED IS 23 MPH (37 KM/H) OR MORE. IF THE WIND MOVES THE THRUST REVERSER DOOR, INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
WARNING:
WHEN YOU OPEN OR CLOSE THE THRUST REVERSER DOORS, MAKE SURE THAT THE AREA BELOW AND BETWEEN THE DOORS IS CLEAR. IF THE DOORS CLOSE SUDDENLY, INJURY TO PERSONS CAN OCCUR.
NOTE: Do not close the thrust-reverser cowl-doors at the same time. Thrust-reverser cowl-doors must be closed one after the other.
Subtask 78-36-00-410-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Closing of the Left Thrust Reverser Door
(2) Operate the 636-3000-13GSE TR MANUAL HYDRAULIC OPENING SYSTEM until the DOS actuator (14) opens the left thrust reverser door (4) sufficiently to release the pressure on the hold open rod (15). Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
(3) Close the valve on the 636-3000-13GSE TR MANUAL HYDRAULIC OPENING SYSTEM to hold the left thrust reverser door (4) in position.
(a) If you used the 636-3000-10GSE TR HOLD OPEN STRUT TO PYLON or the 636GSE3009-901 TR HOLD OPEN STRUT as an alternative to the hold open rod, do not do step 4.A.(4) thru step 4.A.(5).
(b) Remove the 636-3000-10GSE TR HOLD OPEN STRUT TO PYLON or the 636GSE3009-901 TR HOLD OPEN STRUT.
(c) Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
(5) Fully retract the hold open rod (15). Make sure that you see the red band on the slide.
(9) Attach the top end of the hold open rod (15) to the hold open rod bolt (16).
Subtask 78-36-00-410-058-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
DO NOT APPLY MORE THAN 1700 PSI (11721 KPA) OF PRESSURE ON THE DOS ACTUATOR. IF YOU DO, YOU CAN CAUSE OIL TO SPILL FROM THE OVERPRESSURE RELIEF VALVE ON THE ACTUATOR.
CAUTION:
YOU MUST NOT USE THE HANDLE OF THE LATCHES AS AN AID TO CLOSE THE THRUST REVERSER HALF ON THE V-GROOVE.
CAUTION:
WHEN THE AMBIENT TEMPERATURE IS LESS THAN 0 DEG.C (32 DEG.F), YOU MUST WAIT 5 MINUTES AFTER THRUST REVERSER HALF HAS STOPPED BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THE HYDRAULIC HAND PUMP. WHEN THE AMBIENT TEMPERATURE IS MORE THAN 0 DEG.C (32 DEG.F), YOU MUST WAIT 1 MINUTE. THIS IS TO RELEASE THE PRESSURE FROM THE ACCUMULATOR IN THE OPENING ACTUATOR.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE J-RING IS CORRECTLY ENGAGED IN THE V-GROOVE BFORE YOU LOCK THE LATCHES. IF THE J-RING IS NOT CORRECTLY ENGAGED, OPEN THE THRUST-REVERSER COWL DOOR AND CLOSE IT AGAIN CORRECTLY.
CAUTION:
BEFORE YOU CLOSE THE THRUST REVERSER COWL DOOR, MAKE SURE THAT HOOK OF THE LATCH L1 IS IN THE OPEN POSITION.
CAUTION:
USE THE CORRECT ENGINE OIL WHEN YOU FILL THE RESERVOIR OF THE THRUST REVERSER MANUAL HYDRAULIC OPENING SYSTEM. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, IT IS POSSIBLE THAT:
(1) Make sure that the flexible hose of the 636-3000-13GSE TR MANUAL HYDRAULIC OPENING SYSTEM is connected to the quick disconnect fitting of the Door Opening System (DOS) actuator (14). Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.- THE THRUST REVERSER WILL OPEN AND CLOSE SLOWLY
- THE DOS ACTUATOR WILL NOT CLOSE AT TEMPERATURES BELOW -35 DEG C, AND/OR
- DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT WILL OCCUR.
(2) Operate the 636-3000-13GSE TR MANUAL HYDRAULIC OPENING SYSTEM until the DOS actuator (14) opens the left thrust reverser door (4) sufficiently to release the pressure on the hold open rod (15). Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
(3) Close the valve on the 636-3000-13GSE TR MANUAL HYDRAULIC OPENING SYSTEM to hold the left thrust reverser door (4) in position.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU CORRECTLY ENGAGE THE THRUST-REVERSER HOLD-OPEN ROD BEFORE YOU MOVE BETWEEN THE ENGINE AND THE OPEN THRUST REVERSER DOOR. THE THRUST REVERSER DOOR IS HEAVY. IT WILL CLOSE QUICKLY IF THERE IS A FAILURE OF THE DOOR OPENING-SYSTEM ACTUATOR. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONNEL AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(4) Release the end of the hold open rod (15) from the hold open rod support bracket (17) on the fan case. (a) If you used the 636-3000-10GSE TR HOLD OPEN STRUT TO PYLON or the 636GSE3009-901 TR HOLD OPEN STRUT as an alternative to the hold open rod, do not do step 4.A.(4) thru step 4.A.(5).
(b) Remove the 636-3000-10GSE TR HOLD OPEN STRUT TO PYLON or the 636GSE3009-901 TR HOLD OPEN STRUT.
(c) Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
(5) Fully retract the hold open rod (15). Make sure that you see the red band on the slide.
CAUTION:
DO NOT LET THE HOLD OPEN ROD FALL INTO THE POSITION AWAY FROM THE THRUST REVERSER DOOR. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HARDWARE.
(6) Slowly lower the hold open rod (15) away from the left thrust reverser door (4). WARNING:
DO NOT MOVE BETWEEN THE ENGINE AND THE OPEN THRUST REVERSER DOOR WHILE YOU OPERATE THE THRUST REVERSER REVERSER MANUAL HYDRAULIC OPENING SYSTEM. THE THRUST REVERSER DOOR IS HEAVY. IT WILL CLOSE QUICKLY IF THE DOS ACTUATOR FAILS. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONNEL AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION:
DO NOT CLOSE THE LEFT THRUST REVERSER DOOR WITH THE HOLD OPEN ROD CONNECTED TO THE ENGINE FAN CASE. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
(7) Open the pressure relief valve of the 636-3000-13GSE TR MANUAL HYDRAULIC OPENING SYSTEM to release the pressure from the DOS actuator (14) and to lower the left thrust reverser door (4). Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.NOTE: The DOS actuator (14) will retract at a constant speed until the thrust reverser door closes.
(8) Retract the hold open rod (15) until it is fully retracted. (9) Attach the top end of the hold open rod (15) to the hold open rod bolt (16).
B. Closing of the Right Thrust Reverser Door
(2) Operate the 636-3000-13GSE TR MANUAL HYDRAULIC OPENING SYSTEM until the DOS actuator (18) opens the right thrust reverser door (6) sufficiently to release the pressure on the hold open rod (19). Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
(3) Close the valve on the 636-3000-13GSE TR MANUAL HYDRAULIC OPENING SYSTEM to hold the right thrust reverser door (6) in position.
(a) If you used the 636-3000-10GSE TR HOLD OPEN STRUT TO PYLON or the 636GSE3009-901 TR HOLD OPEN STRUT as an alternative to the hold open rod, do not do step 4.B.(4) thru step 4.B.(5).
(b) Remove the 636-3000-10GSE TR HOLD OPEN STRUT TO PYLON or the 636GSE3009-901 TR HOLD OPEN STRUT.
(c) Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
(5) Fully retract the hold open rod (19). Make sure that you see the red band on the slide.
(9) Attach the top end of the hold open rod (19) to the hold open rod bolt (20).
Subtask 78-36-00-410-114-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
DO NOT APPLY MORE THAN 1700 PSI (11721 KPA) OF PRESSURE ON THE DOS ACTUATOR. IF YOU DO, YOU CAN CAUSE OIL TO SPILL FROM THE OVERPRESSURE RELIEF VALVE ON THE ACTUATOR.
CAUTION:
YOU MUST NOT USE THE HANDLE OF THE LATCHES AS AN AID TO CLOSE THE THRUST REVERSER HALF ON THE V-GROOVE.
CAUTION:
WHEN THE AMBIENT TEMPERATURE IS LESS THAN 0 DEG.C (32 DEG.F), YOU MUST WAIT 5 MINUTES AFTER THRUST REVERSER HALF HAS STOPPED BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THE HYDRAULIC HAND PUMP. WHEN THE AMBIENT TEMPERATURE IS MORE THAN 0 DEG.C (32 DEG.F), YOU MUST WAIT 1 MINUTE. THIS IS TO RELEASE THE PRESSURE FROM THE ACCUMULATOR IN THE OPENING ACTUATOR.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE J-RING IS CORRECTLY ENGAGED IN THE V-GROOVE BFORE YOU LOCK THE LATCHES. IF THE J-RING IS NOT CORRECTLY ENGAGED, OPEN THE THRUST-REVERSER COWL DOOR AND CLOSE IT AGAIN CORRECTLY.
CAUTION:
BEFORE YOU CLOSE THE THRUST REVERSER COWL DOOR, MAKE SURE THAT HOOK OF THE LATCH L1 IS IN THE OPEN POSITION.
CAUTION:
USE THE CORRECT ENGINE OIL WHEN YOU FILL THE RESERVOIR OF THE THRUST REVERSER MANUAL HYDRAULIC OPENING SYSTEM. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, IT IS POSSIBLE THAT:
(1) Make sure that the flexible hose of the 636-3000-13GSE TR MANUAL HYDRAULIC OPENING SYSTEM is connected to the quick disconnect fitting of the DOS actuator (18). Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.- THE THRUST REVERSER WILL OPEN AND CLOSE SLOWLY
- THE DOS ACTUATOR WILL NOT CLOSE AT TEMPERATURES BELOW -35 DEG C, AND/OR
- DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT WILL OCCUR.
(2) Operate the 636-3000-13GSE TR MANUAL HYDRAULIC OPENING SYSTEM until the DOS actuator (18) opens the right thrust reverser door (6) sufficiently to release the pressure on the hold open rod (19). Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
(3) Close the valve on the 636-3000-13GSE TR MANUAL HYDRAULIC OPENING SYSTEM to hold the right thrust reverser door (6) in position.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU CORRECTLY ENGAGE THE THRUST-REVERSER HOLD-OPEN ROD BEFORE YOU MOVE BETWEEN THE ENGINE AND THE OPEN THRUST REVERSER DOOR. THE THRUST REVERSER DOOR IS HEAVY. IT WILL CLOSE QUICKLY IF THERE IS A FAILURE OF THE DOOR OPENING-SYSTEM ACTUATOR. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONNEL AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(4) Release the end of the hold open rod (19) from the hold open rod support bracket (21) on the fan case. (a) If you used the 636-3000-10GSE TR HOLD OPEN STRUT TO PYLON or the 636GSE3009-901 TR HOLD OPEN STRUT as an alternative to the hold open rod, do not do step 4.B.(4) thru step 4.B.(5).
(b) Remove the 636-3000-10GSE TR HOLD OPEN STRUT TO PYLON or the 636GSE3009-901 TR HOLD OPEN STRUT.
(c) Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
(5) Fully retract the hold open rod (19). Make sure that you see the red band on the slide.
CAUTION:
DO NOT LET THE HOLD OPEN ROD FALL INTO THE POSITION AWAY FROM THE THRUST REVERSER DOOR. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HARDWARE.
(6) Slowly lower the hold open rod (19) away from right thrust reverser door (6). WARNING:
DO NOT MOVE BETWEEN THE ENGINE AND THE OPEN THRUST REVERSER DOOR WHILE YOU OPERATE THE THRUST REVERSER REVERSER MANUAL HYDRAULIC OPENING SYSTEM. THE THRUST REVERSER DOOR IS HEAVY. IT WILL CLOSE QUICKLY IF THE DOS ACTUATOR FAILS. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONNEL AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION:
DO NOT CLOSE THE RIGHT THRUST REVERSER DOOR WITH THE HOLD OPEN ROD CONNECTED TO THE ENGINE FAN CASE. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
(7) Open the pressure relief valve of the 636-3000-13GSE TR MANUAL HYDRAULIC OPENING SYSTEM to release the pressure from the DOS actuator (18) and to lower the right thrust reverser door (6). Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.NOTE: The DOS actuator (18) will retract at a constant speed until the thrust reverser door closes.
(8) Retract the hold open rod (19) until it is fully retracted. (9) Attach the top end of the hold open rod (19) to the hold open rod bolt (20).
C. Align the thrust reverser doors as follows:
Subtask 78-36-00-410-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
MAKE SURE EACH THRUST REVERSER DOOR THAT WAS OPEN CONTINUES TO HAVE A THRUST REVERSER MANUAL HYDRAULIC OPENING SYSTEM CONNECTED TO THE DOS ACTUATOR. THE THRUST REVERSER MANUAL HYDRAULIC OPENING SYSTEM RELEASES THE PRESSURE OF THE OIL IN THE DOS ACTUATOR WHEN YOU CLOSE THE THRUST REVERSER DOOR LATCHES. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, OIL CAN SPILL FROM THE OVERPRESSURE RELIEF VALVE ON THE ACTUATOR.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THE THRUST REVERSER DOOR V-BLADES CORRECTLY INSERT INTO THE V-GROOVE ON THE ENGINE CASE. IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS, THE THRUST REVERSER DOORS WILL NOT LATCH CORRECTLY AND CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(1) Align the left thrust reverser door (4) and the right thrust reverser door (6) with the left and right align ramps. If the align ramps are damaged or missing, have two persons lift and push the thrust reverser door V-blades into the V-grooves on the engine case. D. Engage the closure assist assembly as follows:
(1) Engage the closure assist assembly (2). If the closure assist assembly (2) is damaged or missing, refer to Para. 4.E.
(b) Open the clip assembly on the stow bracket (3).
1 Move the closure assist assembly (2) out of the stow bracket (3).
(c) Hold the free rod end of the closure assist assembly (2) and turn the barrel of the closure assist assembly (2) to make it longer.
1 Increase the length until the rod end can be attached to the closure assist hook (5) on the right thrust reverser door (6).
2 Make sure that approximately an equal amount of thread shows on each side of the barrel of the closure assist assembly (2).
(d) Engage the closure assist assembly (2) in the closure assist hook (5).
1 Continue to turn until you can engage the L1A latch (12) at the bottom of the doors.
Subtask 78-36-00-410-115-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Engage the closure assist assembly (2). If the closure assist assembly (2) is damaged or missing, refer to Para. 4.E.
NOTE: The closure assist assembly (2) only helps to open or close the L1A latch (12) and the L1B latch (11). It is not necessary to use the closure assist assembly (2) if you can open and close these latches without it.
CAUTION:
DISENGAGE THE CLOSURE ASSIST FITTING FROM THE CLOSURE ASSIST ASSEMBLY BEFORE YOU DISENGAGE THE CLIP ASSEMBLY ON THE STOW BRACKET. IF YOU DISENGAGE THE CLIP ASSEMBLY ON THE STOW BRACKET FIRST, DAMAGE TO THE CLOSURE ASSIST ASSEMBLY CAN OCCUR.
(a) Disengage the spring clip on the closure assist fitting (1) from the closure assist assembly (2).(b) Open the clip assembly on the stow bracket (3).
1 Move the closure assist assembly (2) out of the stow bracket (3).
(c) Hold the free rod end of the closure assist assembly (2) and turn the barrel of the closure assist assembly (2) to make it longer.
1 Increase the length until the rod end can be attached to the closure assist hook (5) on the right thrust reverser door (6).
2 Make sure that approximately an equal amount of thread shows on each side of the barrel of the closure assist assembly (2).
(d) Engage the closure assist assembly (2) in the closure assist hook (5).
CAUTION:
DO NOT CONTINUE TO TURN THE CLOSURE ASSIST ASSEMBLY IF IT STOPS. THE CLOSURE ASSIST ASSEMBLY HAS A STOP TO MAKE SURE THE TWO THRUST REVERSERS DO NOT HIT EACH OTHER. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
(e) Turn the barrel of the closure assist assembly (2) with the WRENCH - STANDARD to pull the two thrust reverser doors together.1 Continue to turn until you can engage the L1A latch (12) at the bottom of the doors.
NOTE: If you cannot close another latch, you can tighten the closure assist assembly (2) more to remove the force on that latch.
E. If the closure assist assembly (2) is damaged or missing, do as follows:
(1) Have one person push the left thrust reverser door (4).
(2) Have another person push the right thrust reverser door (6).
(3) Push the thrust reverser doors together until you can engage the L1A latch (12) at the bottom of the doors.

Subtask 78-36-00-410-061-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THE LATCHES CLOSE WITH A FORCE NO MORE THAN 60 LBF (27.2 KGF). IF THE FORCE IS TOO HIGH, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
(1) Engage and close the L1A latch (12) and L1B latch (11) on the bottom of the thrust reverser doors. G. Engage the closure assist assembly in its stowed position as follows:
(2) Turn the barrel of the closure assist assembly (2) to make it longer.
(3) Increase the length of the closure assist assembly (2) until the rod end disengages from the closure assist hook (5).
(4) Turn the barrel of the closure assist assembly (2) to make it shorter.
(5) Decrease the length of the closure assist assembly (2) until the rod end fits into the hole in the stow bracket (3).
(6) Put the closure assist assembly (2) in the stow bracket (3).
(7) Close the clip assembly on the stow bracket (3) to safety the closure assist assembly (2).
(8) Make sure that the rod end stays in hole on the stow bracket.
(9) Move the flag on the closure assist fitting (1) to put the spring clip on the closure assist assembly (2).
Subtask 78-36-00-410-062-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
PUT THE CLOSURE ASSIST ASSEMBLY IN ITS STORAGE POSITION IMMEDIATELY AFTER YOU CLOSE THE L1A LATCH AND L1B LATCH. FAILURE TO DO SO CAN RESULT IN DAMAGE TO THE CLOSURE ASSIST ASSEMBLY OR THE ADJACENT STRUCTURE.
(1) If you engaged the closure assist assembly (2), put the closure assist assembly (2) in its stowed position. (2) Turn the barrel of the closure assist assembly (2) to make it longer.
(3) Increase the length of the closure assist assembly (2) until the rod end disengages from the closure assist hook (5).
(4) Turn the barrel of the closure assist assembly (2) to make it shorter.
(5) Decrease the length of the closure assist assembly (2) until the rod end fits into the hole in the stow bracket (3).
(6) Put the closure assist assembly (2) in the stow bracket (3).
(7) Close the clip assembly on the stow bracket (3) to safety the closure assist assembly (2).
(8) Make sure that the rod end stays in hole on the stow bracket.
(9) Move the flag on the closure assist fitting (1) to put the spring clip on the closure assist assembly (2).
NOTE: The flag is red color so that you will see if it is not correctly stowed.
H. Closing of the Remaining Thrust Reverser Door Latches
(2) Engage and close the bifurcation latch system handle (13) on the bottom of the thrust reverser doors.
(3) Engage and close the L3 latch (9) on the bottom of the thrust reverser doors.
(4) Engage and close the L4 latch (8) on the bottom of the thrust reverser doors.
(5) Engage and close the L5 latch (7) on the core cowl.
Subtask 78-36-00-410-128-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THE LATCHES CLOSE WITH A FORCE NO MORE THAN 60 LBF (27.2 KGF). IF THE FORCE IS TOO HIGH, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION:
ALWAYS CLOSE THE LATCHES ON THE THRUST REVERSER IN THE SEQUENCE THAT FOLLOWS. YOU CAN DAMAGE THE THRUST REVERSER IF YOU DO NOT CLOSE THE LATCHES IN THE CORRECT SEQUENCE.
(1) Engage and close the L2 latch (10) on the bottom of the thrust reverser doors. (2) Engage and close the bifurcation latch system handle (13) on the bottom of the thrust reverser doors.
(3) Engage and close the L3 latch (9) on the bottom of the thrust reverser doors.
(4) Engage and close the L4 latch (8) on the bottom of the thrust reverser doors.
(5) Engage and close the L5 latch (7) on the core cowl.
I. Measure the force necessary to close each latch one at a time as follows:
(1) Do Para. 4.F and Steps 4.H.(1) thru 4.H.(5) again.
(a) If you measure a force that is not between 30 lbf (13.34 daN) and 36 lbf (16.01 daN), adjust the thrust reverser latch (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-35-820-801).
Subtask 78-36-00-410-131-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Do Para. 4.F and Steps 4.H.(1) thru 4.H.(5) again.
(a) If you measure a force that is not between 30 lbf (13.34 daN) and 36 lbf (16.01 daN), adjust the thrust reverser latch (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-35-820-801).
J. Closing of the Thrust Reverser Door Latches
(1) Make sure that all the latch handles are flush with the adjacent thrust reverser surface.
(2) Make sure that the latch triggers are flush with the latch handle surfaces.
(a) If a latch handle or latch trigger is not flush, open the latch and close it again. Refer to the applicable step above.
Subtask 78-36-00-410-063-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that all the latch handles are flush with the adjacent thrust reverser surface.
(2) Make sure that the latch triggers are flush with the latch handle surfaces.
(a) If a latch handle or latch trigger is not flush, open the latch and close it again. Refer to the applicable step above.
K. Disconnection of the Thrust Reverser Manual Hydraulic Opening System
(1) When the thrust reverser doors (4) and (6) are fully closed and latched, disconnect the flexible hose of the 636-3000-13GSE TR MANUAL HYDRAULIC OPENING SYSTEM from the quick disconnect fittings of the DOS actuator (14). Disconnect the flexible hose of the 636-3000-13GSE TR MANUAL HYDRAULIC OPENING SYSTEM from the fitting of the DOS actuator (18). Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
(2) Install the dust caps on the fitting of the DOS actuators (14) and (18).
5. Close-up(1) When the thrust reverser doors (4) and (6) are fully closed and latched, disconnect the flexible hose of the 636-3000-13GSE TR MANUAL HYDRAULIC OPENING SYSTEM from the quick disconnect fittings of the DOS actuator (14). Disconnect the flexible hose of the 636-3000-13GSE TR MANUAL HYDRAULIC OPENING SYSTEM from the fitting of the DOS actuator (18). Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
(2) Install the dust caps on the fitting of the DOS actuators (14) and (18).
