(d) Put the EXTENSION 3/8 IN - SQUARE DRIVE in the manual drive unit square drive tool engagement.
(g) Remove the EXTENSION 3/8 IN - SQUARE DRIVE square drive tool from the manual drive unit.
(h) Make sure that the manual drive unit lever is in the unlocked position.
(2) Reactivate the TRAS track lock (Ref. AMM TASK 78-37-00-440-801).

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
4. ProcedureWARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that the thrust reverser system for maintenance is deactivated (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). Subtask 78-32-00-860-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
A. Manual Retraction of the Thrust-Reverser Translating Sleeves NOTE: This procedure is shown for the left thrust reverser door. The procedure is the same for the right thrust reverser door.
(1) Manually retract the applicable translating sleeve. CAUTION:
DO NOT RETRACT THE THRUST REVERSER TRANSLATING SLEEVE WITH THE THRUST REVERSER HALVES OPEN. DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
(a) Turn the manual drive unit lever to the unlocked position if necessary. (b) Remove the 636-3000-28GSE TR ACT. PRIM. LCK PIN track lock mechanism pin from the TRAS feedback locking actuator.
(c) Remove the 636-3000-28GSE TR ACT. PRIM. LCK PIN track lock mechanism pin from the TRAS locking actuator.
(d) Put the EXTENSION 3/8 IN - SQUARE DRIVE in the manual drive unit square drive tool engagement.
NOTE: A maximum speed of 600 rpm is permitted for the manual drive unit.
(e) Turn the manual drive unit to retract the translating sleeve. NOTE: Turn the manual drive unit on the left thrust reverser half clockwise to retract the translating sleeve. Turn the manual drive unit on the right thrust reverser half counterclockwise to retract the translating sleeve.
NOTE: The manual drive unit has a torque limiter breakout torque between 70 lbf.in (0.79 m.daN) and 96 lbf.in (1.08 m.daN).
(f) Let the TRAS feedback locking actuator and TRAS locking actuator levers return to the locked position. (g) Remove the EXTENSION 3/8 IN - SQUARE DRIVE square drive tool from the manual drive unit.
(h) Make sure that the manual drive unit lever is in the unlocked position.
(2) Reactivate the TRAS track lock (Ref. AMM TASK 78-37-00-440-801).

A. Do the reactivation of the thrust reverser system after maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-440-805).

(1) Remove the access platform(s).
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Close the fan cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-802):
