Reactivation of the Thrust Reverser Actuation System (TRAS) Track Lock

B. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Ground Maintenance
4. ProcedureWARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 78-37-00-440-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Reactivation of the TRAS Track Lock for the Applicable Thrust Reverser Half
(1) Remove the two bolts (1) and the track lock cover (2).
(2) Turn the TRAS track lock lockout-lever a few degrees.
(a) Use the applicable WRENCH 1/4 IN - RATCHET and the EXTENSION LENGTH 102 MM (4 IN)-SQUARE DRIVE.
(c) Keep the lockout lever in position.

(3) Remove the lockout pin (3) from the TRAS track lock.

(4) Remove the lockout pin (4) from the TRAS track lock.

(5) Remove the WRENCH 1/4 IN - RATCHET and the EXTENSION LENGTH 102 MM (4 IN)-SQUARE DRIVE from the TRAS track lock lockout-lever.
(a) Make sure that the TRAS track lock lockout-lever returns to the locked position.

(6) Install the lockout pin (3) in the latch beam.
(7) TORQUE the lockout pin (3) to between 70 and 50 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.57 m.daN ).

(8) Install the lockout pin (4) in the latch beam.
(9) TORQUE the lockout pin (4) to between 70 and 50 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.57 m.daN ).

(10) Install the track lock cover (2) back on the latch beam with the two bolts (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-37-400-801).
(a) Make sure that the track lock cover (2) pin is on the bottom side.
(11) Reactivate the TRAS track lock for the opposite thrust reverser half.
5. Close-up(1) Remove the two bolts (1) and the track lock cover (2).
(2) Turn the TRAS track lock lockout-lever a few degrees.
(a) Use the applicable WRENCH 1/4 IN - RATCHET and the EXTENSION LENGTH 102 MM (4 IN)-SQUARE DRIVE.
NOTE: For the TRAS track lock on the left thrust reverser, you can turn the lockout lever counterclockwise. For the TRAS track lock on the right thrust reverser, you can turn the lockout lever clockwise.
(b) Make sure that the distance between the lockout lever and the lockout pin (3) is sufficient to remove the load against the lockout pin (3). (c) Keep the lockout lever in position.

(3) Remove the lockout pin (3) from the TRAS track lock.

(4) Remove the lockout pin (4) from the TRAS track lock.

(5) Remove the WRENCH 1/4 IN - RATCHET and the EXTENSION LENGTH 102 MM (4 IN)-SQUARE DRIVE from the TRAS track lock lockout-lever.
(a) Make sure that the TRAS track lock lockout-lever returns to the locked position.
NOTE: The TRAS track lock lockout-lever on the left thrust reverser will turn clockwise. The TRAS track lock lockout-lever on the right thrust reverser will turn counterclockwise.

(6) Install the lockout pin (3) in the latch beam.
(7) TORQUE the lockout pin (3) to between 70 and 50 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.57 m.daN )

(8) Install the lockout pin (4) in the latch beam.
(9) TORQUE the lockout pin (4) to between 70 and 50 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.57 m.daN )

(10) Install the track lock cover (2) back on the latch beam with the two bolts (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-37-400-801).
(a) Make sure that the track lock cover (2) pin is on the bottom side.
(11) Reactivate the TRAS track lock for the opposite thrust reverser half.

A. Do the reactivation of the thrust reverser system after ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-440-805).
