C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Ground Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

   (1) Make sure that the thrust reverser cowl-doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

4. Procedure
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 78-32-37-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Upper Track Lock Cover
NOTE: The upper track lock cover (2) for the left thrust reverser door is shown. The upper track lock cover (2) for the right thrust reverser door is opposite.
   (1) Remove the sealant from the mating surface of the latch beam with the SPATULA - PLASTIC or equivalent.
   (2) Clean the mating surfaces with a clean cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) and the PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl.
     (a) Remove the PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl with a clean cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) before the PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl becomes dry.
   (3) Application of the release agent:
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE RELEASE AGENT DOES NOT GET ON OTHER AREAS OF THE THRUST REVERSER DOOR. APPLY THE RELEASE AGENT AWAY FROM THE DOOR OR PUT MASKING TAPE ON THE ADJACENT AREAS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE INSTRUCTIONS, DAMAGE TO THE OTHER SURFACES CAN OCCUR.
     (a) Apply two layers of release agent (Material No.PU5-0004) or alternate release agent (Material No.PU5-0004A) or alternate release agent (Material No.PU5-0004B) on the mating surfaces of the upper track lock cover (2).
     (b) Let the release agent (Material No.PU5-0004) or alternate fully dry. Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
   (4) Installation of the upper track lock cover (2):
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE PIN IN THE UPPER TRACK LOCK COVER POINTS DOWN FOR NORMAL USAGE OF THE THRUST REVERSER DOOR. IF THE PIN POINTS UP, IT WILL PREVENT THE CORRECT OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER SLEEVE.
     (a) Install the upper track lock cover (2) on the latch beam with the two bolts (1).
     (b) TORQUE the bolts (1) to between 50 and 45 lbf.in (0.57 and 0.51 m.daN ) T.
     (c) Apply the PR-2001 rapid cure fuel tank sealant (Material No.
PU3-0005) or alternate sealant (Material No.PU3-0005A) or alternate sealant (Material No.PU3-0005B) on the gaps between the upper track lock cover (2) and the latch beam. Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
     (d) Make the PR-2001 rapid cure fuel tank sealant (Material No.PU3-0005) or alternate a smooth, even surface and flush with the upper track lock cover (2) and the latch beam.
