A. Safety Precautions
(2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
Subtask 28-20-00-860-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.
(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work on the fuel system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001). (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Deactivate the thrust reverser system (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).
(2) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) P/BSW is off.
(3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
(4) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits from the external power (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(5) Do the EIS start procedure (ECAM only) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001), then:
Subtask 28-20-00-865-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Deactivate the thrust reverser system (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).
(2) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) P/BSW is off.
(3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
(4) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits from the external power (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(5) Do the EIS start procedure (ECAM only) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001), then:
- On the ECAM control panel (CP), push in the FUEL push button switch (P/BSW)
- Make sure that the engine LP valves are shown closed (amber cross-line) on the ECAM lower display unit (DU).

D. Get Access
(1) Open the applicable thrust reverser cowl-doors:
(a) For the left nacelle:

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
(a) For the left pylon at the zone 410 and 470.
(b) For the right pylon at the zone 420 and 480.
(3) Remove the applicable access panels:
(a) For the left pylon:
4. Procedure(1) Open the applicable thrust reverser cowl-doors:

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
(a) For the left pylon at the zone 410 and 470.
(b) For the right pylon at the zone 420 and 480.
(3) Remove the applicable access panels:
(a) For the left pylon:
- 413ET, 413DL, 471AL and 472AR (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-804).
- 415AR and 415AL (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-21-000-802).
- 411AL, 423ET, 424DR and 482AR (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-804).
- 425AR and 425AL (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-21-000-802).
Subtask 28-20-00-680-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Drain the Fuel from the Pylon Engine Fuel-Feed-Pipes
(1) Remove the drain plug from the fuel filter housing and drain the fuel from the engine and the pylon engine fuel-feed-pipes (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-06-000-801).
(2) When the flow of fuel stops, install the drain plug in the fuel filter housing (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-06-400-801).
Subtask 28-20-00-020-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the drain plug from the fuel filter housing and drain the fuel from the engine and the pylon engine fuel-feed-pipes (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-06-000-801).
(2) When the flow of fuel stops, install the drain plug in the fuel filter housing (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-06-400-801).
B. Removal of the Pylon Engine Fuel-Feed-Pipes
(1) Removal of the pipe (46):
(a) Remove the bellows and its thermal protection (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-42-000-802).
(b) Put a CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL) in position below the fuel connections.
(c) Disconnect the fuel recirculation check-valve from its connection adjacent to RIB7 of the pylon box (Ref. AMM TASK 28-16-42-000-001).
(d) Remove the nuts (45) and the bolts (43) from the clamps (44).
(e) Disconnect the bonding leads (42) from the clamps (44).
(f) Remove the clamps (44) from the pipe (46).
(g) Remove the nuts (41), the bolts (37), the washers (38) and the clamps (39) from the sleeves (40) and (47).
(h) Disengage the sleeves (40) and (47) from the pipe assemblies (1) and (31).
(i) Move the sleeves (40) and (47) on the pipe (46).
(j) Remove the connectors (36) from the pipe (46).
(k) To remove the pipe (46) from the pipe assemblies (1) and (31):
2 Loosen and remove the nuts (33).
3 Remove the pipe (46) from the pipe assemblies (1) and (31).
4 Remove and discard the retaining rings (34).
5 Remove and discard the O-rings (32) and (35).
6 Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(2) Removal of the pipe assembly (1):
(a) Disconnect the fuel-drain flexible hose (5) from the pipe assembly (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-20-00-000-801).
(b) Remove the bolts (2), the washers (3), the nuts (17) and the shim (20).
(c) Remove the bolts (15), the washers (16), the nuts (19) and the shim (18).
(d) Remove and discard the lockwire from the nut (21).
(e) Loosen and remove the nut (21).
(f) Remove and discard the retaining ring (22).
(g) Disengage the sleeve (23) and move it away on the pipe assembly (1).
(h) Remove and discard the lockwire from the nut (25).
(i) Loosen and remove the nut (25).
(j) Remove and discard the retaining ring (26).
(k) Carefully remove the pipe assembly (1) from the pipe assembly (4).
(l) Remove and discard the O-rings (24) and (27).
(m) Remove and discard the O-ring (28).
(n) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(3) Removal of the pipe (9):
(a) Remove the bolts (7) and the washers (8) from the plate assembly.
(b) Remove the nuts (14), the bolts (10) and the washers (11) that attach the pipe assembly (9) to the pipe assembly (4).
(c) Remove the pipe (9) from the plate assembly.
(d) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(4) Removal of the pipe assembly (4):
(a) Disconnect the fuel-drain flexible hose (5) from the pipe assembly (4) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-20-00-000-801).
(b) Remove the fan air valve-actuator 9HA1(9HA2) (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-54-000-802).
(c) Remove the bolts (29) and the washers (30).
(d) Remove the bolts (12) and the washers (13) that attach the pipe assembly (4) to the forward lateral panel.
(e) Remove and discard the gasket (6).
(g) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(1) Removal of the pipe (46):
(a) Remove the bellows and its thermal protection (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-42-000-802).
(b) Put a CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL) in position below the fuel connections.
(c) Disconnect the fuel recirculation check-valve from its connection adjacent to RIB7 of the pylon box (Ref. AMM TASK 28-16-42-000-001).
(d) Remove the nuts (45) and the bolts (43) from the clamps (44).
(e) Disconnect the bonding leads (42) from the clamps (44).
(f) Remove the clamps (44) from the pipe (46).
(g) Remove the nuts (41), the bolts (37), the washers (38) and the clamps (39) from the sleeves (40) and (47).
(h) Disengage the sleeves (40) and (47) from the pipe assemblies (1) and (31).
(i) Move the sleeves (40) and (47) on the pipe (46).
(j) Remove the connectors (36) from the pipe (46).
(k) To remove the pipe (46) from the pipe assemblies (1) and (31):
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
1 Cut, remove and discard the lockwire from the nuts (33) and the connectors (36). 2 Loosen and remove the nuts (33).
3 Remove the pipe (46) from the pipe assemblies (1) and (31).
4 Remove and discard the retaining rings (34).
5 Remove and discard the O-rings (32) and (35).
6 Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(2) Removal of the pipe assembly (1):
(a) Disconnect the fuel-drain flexible hose (5) from the pipe assembly (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-20-00-000-801).
(b) Remove the bolts (2), the washers (3), the nuts (17) and the shim (20).
(c) Remove the bolts (15), the washers (16), the nuts (19) and the shim (18).
(d) Remove and discard the lockwire from the nut (21).
(e) Loosen and remove the nut (21).
(f) Remove and discard the retaining ring (22).
(g) Disengage the sleeve (23) and move it away on the pipe assembly (1).
(h) Remove and discard the lockwire from the nut (25).
(i) Loosen and remove the nut (25).
(j) Remove and discard the retaining ring (26).
(k) Carefully remove the pipe assembly (1) from the pipe assembly (4).
(l) Remove and discard the O-rings (24) and (27).
(m) Remove and discard the O-ring (28).
(n) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(3) Removal of the pipe (9):
(a) Remove the bolts (7) and the washers (8) from the plate assembly.
(b) Remove the nuts (14), the bolts (10) and the washers (11) that attach the pipe assembly (9) to the pipe assembly (4).
(c) Remove the pipe (9) from the plate assembly.
(d) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(4) Removal of the pipe assembly (4):
(a) Disconnect the fuel-drain flexible hose (5) from the pipe assembly (4) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-20-00-000-801).
(b) Remove the fan air valve-actuator 9HA1(9HA2) (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-54-000-802).
(c) Remove the bolts (29) and the washers (30).
(d) Remove the bolts (12) and the washers (13) that attach the pipe assembly (4) to the forward lateral panel.
(e) Remove and discard the gasket (6).
CAUTION:
IF THERE ARE FUEL LEAKS, REPLACE THE PIPE ASSEMBLY. DO NOT DISASSEMBLE IT. IF YOU DO, DAMAGE CAN OCCUR WHEN YOU INSTALL THE PIPE ASSEMBLY AGAIN.
(f) Carefully remove the pipe assembly (4) from the pylon. (g) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
