Removal of the Fuel Recirculation Check-valve

A. Safety Precautions
(2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
Subtask 28-16-42-860-051-A WARNING:
OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.
(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work on the fuel system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001). (2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
B. Fuel Configuration
(1) Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
Subtask 28-16-42-010-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
C. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE below the applicable zone 470(480).
(2) Remove the applicable access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-002):
(a) FOR [122QM] (CHECK VALVE-FUEL RECIRCULATION, L)
Subtask 28-16-42-010-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE below the applicable zone 470(480).
(2) Remove the applicable access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-002):
(a) FOR [122QM] (CHECK VALVE-FUEL RECIRCULATION, L)
- Remove 471BL.
- Remove 482BR.
C. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE below the applicable zone 470(480).
(2) Remove the applicable access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-002):
(a) FOR [122QM] (CHECK VALVE-FUEL RECIRCULATION, L)
Subtask 28-16-42-010-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE below the applicable zone 470(480).
(2) Remove the applicable access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-002):
(a) FOR [122QM] (CHECK VALVE-FUEL RECIRCULATION, L)
- Remove 471CL.
- Remove 481CR.
C. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE below the applicable zone 470(480).
(2) Remove the applicable access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-804):
(a) FOR [122QM] (CHECK VALVE-FUEL RECIRCULATION, L)
4. Procedure(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE below the applicable zone 470(480).
(2) Remove the applicable access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-804):
(a) FOR [122QM] (CHECK VALVE-FUEL RECIRCULATION, L)
- Remove 471BL.
- Remove 482BR.
Subtask 28-16-42-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Fuel Recirculation Check-Valve
(2) Remove the nut (5), the bolt (3) and disconnect the bonding strip (4).
(3) Remove and discard the lockwire from the bolts (10). Remove the bolts (10), the washers (9) and the plates (11).
(4) Remove and discard the seal (8).
(5) Disengage the tab washers (6) and remove the bolts (7) and the tab washers (6). Remove the check valve (2) from the mounting block. Discard the tab washers (6).
(6) Remove and discard the O-ring (1).
(7) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
Subtask 28-16-42-020-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(1) Put a CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) below the check valve (2). (2) Remove the nut (5), the bolt (3) and disconnect the bonding strip (4).
(3) Remove and discard the lockwire from the bolts (10). Remove the bolts (10), the washers (9) and the plates (11).
(4) Remove and discard the seal (8).
(5) Disengage the tab washers (6) and remove the bolts (7) and the tab washers (6). Remove the check valve (2) from the mounting block. Discard the tab washers (6).
(6) Remove and discard the O-ring (1).
(7) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
A. Removal of the Fuel Recirculation Check-Valve

WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
