A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.
   (1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work on the fuel system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
   (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
Subtask 28-20-00-860-053-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Deactivate the thrust reverser system (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).
   (2) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) P/BSW is off.
   (3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (4) Use external power to energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (5) Do the EIS start procedure (ECAM only) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001), then:
  • On the ECAM control panel (CP), push in the FUEL P/BSW
  • Make sure that the engine LP valves are shown closed (amber cross-line) on the ECAM lower display unit (DU).

D. Get Access
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
     (a) For the left pylon at the zone 410 and 470.
     (b) For the right pylon at the zone 420 and 480.
   (2) Remove the applicable access panels:
     (a) For the left pylon:
     (b) For the right pylon:
   (3) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors:
     (a) For the left nacelle:
     (b) For the right nacelle:
4. Procedure
Subtask 28-20-00-020-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Fuel Drain Line
   (1) To remove the flexible hose assembly (1):
     (a) Disconnect the flexible hose assembly (1) from the main fuel-feed line.
     (b) Hold and carefully disconnect the flexible hose assembly (1) from the pipe assembly (2).
     (c) Carefully remove the flexible hose assembly (1).
   (2) To remove the pipe assembly (2):
     (a) Remove the bolts (3) and the washers (4) from the pipe assembly (2).
     (b) Disconnect the pipe assembly (2) from the union (5).
     (c) Carefully remove the pipe assembly (2).
   (3) Do the steps that follow to remove the flexible hose assembly (7):
     (a) Disconnect the flexible hose assembly (7) from the main fuel-feed line.
     (b) Hold and carefully disconnect the flexible hose assembly (7) from the union (6).
     (c) Carefully remove the flexible hose assembly (7).
   (4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
