   (1) Do the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).

B. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.
   (1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

C. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

   (2) Open the thrust-reverser cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)
461AL 462AR.
   (3) Remove the pylon fire-detector ramp-assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 26-12-16-000-802).
   (4) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position:
     (a) For the left pylon, in zone 415
     (b) For the right pylon, in zone 425.
4. Procedure
Subtask 54-51-61-020-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Thermal Blankets between RIB1 and RIB5
   (1) Disconnect the engine fire-extinguishing pipe (8) from its connection between RIB3 and RIB4 (Ref. AMM TASK 26-21-49-000-803).
   (2) Put the blanking plug on the disconnected pipe end.
   (3) Remove the bolts (6) and the washers (7) and the fire ramp bracket (2).
   (4) Hold the thermal blankets (3) and (1).
   (5) Remove the bolts (5) and the washers (4).
   (6) Remove the thermal blankets (3) and (1).
