B. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(2) Do the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).
(3) On FLAPS panel 114VU:
(a) Put the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION in position on the flap/slat control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-480-002).
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) on the flap/slat control lever to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat controls.

E. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Ground Maintenance
Subtask 26-21-49-010-066-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). F. Get Access
(1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

G. Removal of the Components
(1) Remove the two engine fire-extinguisher bottles (Ref. AMM TASK 26-21-41-000-001).
(2) Removal of the engine fire-extinguishing bottle-supports
(a) Remove the bracket (27).
1 Remove the two bolts (25) and nuts (26) from the bracket (27).
2 Remove the bracket (27) from the support (24).
(b) Remove the bracket (31).
1 Remove the two bolts (30) and nuts (29) from the bracket (31).
2 Remove the bracket (31) from the support (28).
(c) Remove the bracket (32).
1 Remove the two bolts (35) and washers (34) from the clamp (33).
2 Disengage the duct (23) from the clamp (33).
3 Remove the clamp (33) from the bracket (32).
4 Remove the two bolts (42) and nuts (37) from the bracket (32).
5 Remove the two bolts (41) and nuts (39) from the bracket (32).
6 Remove the two bolts (40) and nuts (38) from the bracket (32).
7 Remove the bracket (32) from the support (36).
(3) If necessary:
(a) Disconnect the four sensing elements (15) from the two responder units (12) as follows:
2 Remove the four nuts (13) and (14) from the two responder units (12).
3 Disconnect the four sensing elements (15) from the two responder units (12).
(b) Disconnect of the pylon fire-detector-harness ramp-assembly (28) as follows:
1 Remove the four bolts (19) and washers (20) from the two supports (21).
2 Carefully remove the pylon fire-detector-harness ramp-assembly (22) from the two supports (21) and attach it temporarily. This is to make sure that pylon fire-detector-harness ramp-assembly (22) is not in tension and to prevent possible damage.
(5) Remove the thermal blanket (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-61-000-801).
4. Procedure(1) Remove the two engine fire-extinguisher bottles (Ref. AMM TASK 26-21-41-000-001).
(2) Removal of the engine fire-extinguishing bottle-supports
(a) Remove the bracket (27).
1 Remove the two bolts (25) and nuts (26) from the bracket (27).
2 Remove the bracket (27) from the support (24).
(b) Remove the bracket (31).
1 Remove the two bolts (30) and nuts (29) from the bracket (31).
2 Remove the bracket (31) from the support (28).
(c) Remove the bracket (32).
1 Remove the two bolts (35) and washers (34) from the clamp (33).
2 Disengage the duct (23) from the clamp (33).
3 Remove the clamp (33) from the bracket (32).
4 Remove the two bolts (42) and nuts (37) from the bracket (32).
5 Remove the two bolts (41) and nuts (39) from the bracket (32).
6 Remove the two bolts (40) and nuts (38) from the bracket (32).
7 Remove the bracket (32) from the support (36).
(3) If necessary:
- Remove the pylon engine-fuel feed-pipe and/or the fuel drain line (Ref. AMM TASK 28-20-00-000-803) and/or (Ref. AMM TASK 28-20-00-000-801).
- Remove the fuel recirculation pipe (Ref. AMM TASK 28-16-00-000-001).
(a) Disconnect the four sensing elements (15) from the two responder units (12) as follows:
CAUTION:
DO NOT USE ELECTRICAL OR PNEUMATIC TOOLS TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE QUARTER-TURN FASTENER ON THE FIRE DETECTOR CLAMP. ONLY USE A MANUAL SCREWDRIVER. ELECTRICAL OR PNEUMATIC TOOLS WILL CAUSE THE FASTENER TO TURN TOO MUCH AND POSSIBLY TO BREAK.
1 Turn the four quarter-turn fasteners (18) by one quarter of a turn and open the four clamps (17). 2 Remove the four nuts (13) and (14) from the two responder units (12).
3 Disconnect the four sensing elements (15) from the two responder units (12).
(b) Disconnect of the pylon fire-detector-harness ramp-assembly (28) as follows:
1 Remove the four bolts (19) and washers (20) from the two supports (21).
2 Carefully remove the pylon fire-detector-harness ramp-assembly (22) from the two supports (21) and attach it temporarily. This is to make sure that pylon fire-detector-harness ramp-assembly (22) is not in tension and to prevent possible damage.
(5) Remove the thermal blanket (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-61-000-801).
Subtask 26-21-49-020-056-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Engine Fire-Extinguishing Pipe (Aft Part)
(1) Loosen the nut (5).
(2) Remove the three bolts (3) and washers (4).
(3) Disconnect the pipe (1) from the pipe (2).
(4) Remove the six bolts (10) and washers (9) from the three clamps (8).
(5) Remove the three clamps (8) from their supports (7).
(6) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(7) Remove the pipe (1) from the pylon.
(1) Loosen the nut (5).
(2) Remove the three bolts (3) and washers (4).
(3) Disconnect the pipe (1) from the pipe (2).
(4) Remove the six bolts (10) and washers (9) from the three clamps (8).
(5) Remove the three clamps (8) from their supports (7).
(6) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(7) Remove the pipe (1) from the pylon.
