A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
   (3) Make sure that the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (4) On the ECAM control panel:
  • Make sure that the HYD key is pushed.
  • On the lower ECAM DU, make sure that the HYD page is shown.
   (5) On the overhead panel 20VU:
  • Make sure that the ENG2/FIRE pushbutton is released.
   (6) On the lower ECAM DU, on the HYD page:
  • Make sure that the fire shutoff valve (3046GD) is closed.

   (2) Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
  • On the HYD section of panel 40VU
  • On access door 198CB, on the ground service panel of the Yellow hydraulic system.
   (3) Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position on access door 195BB to tell persons not to pressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system.
   (4) On FLAPS panel 114VU:
  • Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is in position on the flap/slat control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-480-002).
  • Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position on the flap/slat control lever to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat controls.
   (5) Make sure that you did the procedure to prevent engine motoring (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).

WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

F. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position at zones 420 and 480.
   (2) Make sure that these access panels are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-804):
     (a) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)
   (3) Make sure that the rear pylon fairing (RPF) is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 54-54-00-000-802):

G. Removal of the Components
   (1) Make sure that the fire extinguisher bottles are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 26-21-41-000-001).
   (2) Make sure that the engine fire-extinguishing pipes are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 26-21-49-000-803).
4. Procedure
Subtask 29-13-49-420-118-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Forward and Middle Pressure/Suction/Case Drain/Return Piping of the Yellow Hydraulic System in the Engine Pylon
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING from the line ends.
   (4) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
   (5) Installation of the hydraulic pipe (3):
     (a) Connect the hydraulic pipe (3) to the hydraulic filter Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) (35).
     (b) Connect the hydraulic pipe (3) to the pylon manifold.
   (6) Installation of the hydraulic pipes (4) and (5):
     (a) Put the hydraulic pipe (4) in position.
     (b) Install the clamp blocks (23) on the hydraulic pipes (4) and (5).
       1 Install the washers (24) and bolts (25).
         a Do not tighten the bolts (25) at this time.
     (c) Install the clamp block (83) on the hydraulic pipes (4) and (5).
       1 Install the washers (84), bolts (85) and nuts (82).
         a Do not tighten the nuts (82) at this time.
     (d) Connect the hydraulic pipe (4) to the structure with the washers (19) and bolts (18).
       1 Tighten the bolts (18).
     (e) Connect the hydraulic pipe (5) to the structure with the washers (21) and bolts (20).
       1 Tighten the bolts (20).
     (f) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet 120 degre Celsius (Material No.06ABB2) on the head of the bolts (18) and (20).
     (g) Connect the hydraulic pipe (4) to the hydraulic hose (39).
     (h) Hold the hydraulic hose (39) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and tighten the hydraulic pipe (4) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-21-12-911-001).
     (i) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
     (j) Connect the hydraulic pipe (5) to the hydraulic pipe (36).
     (k) Hold the hydraulic pipe (36) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and tighten the hydraulic pipe (5) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-21-12-911-001).
     (l) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
     (m) Tighten the bolts (25).
     (n) Tighten the nuts (82).
     (o) Connect the hydraulic pipe (58) to the hydraulic pipe (5).
     (p) Connect the hydraulic pipe (57) to the hydraulic pipe (4).
     (q) Installation of the support (59):
       1 Put in position the support (59).
       2 Install the washers (67) and bolts (68).
       3 Install the washers (69) and bolts (66).
       4 Tighten the bolts (68) and (66).
       5 Install the clamp (65), washers (64) and bolts (63).
       6 Install the clamp (60), washers (61) and bolts (62).
       7 Tighten the bolts (63) and (62).
     (r) Installation of the support (74):
       1 Put in position the support (74).
       2 Install the washers (75) and bolts (76).
       3 Install the washer (80) and bolt (79).
       4 Tighten the bolts (76) and (79).
       5 Install the clamp (81), washers (77) and bolts (78).
       6 Tighten the bolt (78).
   (7) Installation of the hydraulic pipes (2) and (6):
     (a) Put the hydraulic pipes (2) and (6) in position.
     (b) Install the clamp (17) on the hydraulic pipe (6).
     (c) Install the washers (16) and bolts (15).
       1 Do not tighten the bolts (15) at this time.
     (d) Install the clamp (12) on the hydraulic pipe (2).
     (e) Install the washers (14) and bolts (13).
       1 Do not tighten the bolts (13) at this time.
     (f) Install the half-clamp blocks (28) and (34) on the hydraulic pipes (2), (6), (4) and (5).
NOTE: Make sure that all bushes are correctly installed in the half-clamp blocks (28) and (34).
     (g) Install the washers (27), bolts (26) and nuts (31).
       1 Do not tighten the nuts (31) at this time.
     (h) Install the washers (30) and bolts (29).
       1 Do not tighten the bolts (29) at this time.
     (i) Install the washers (33) and bolts (32).
       1 Do not tighten the bolts (32) at this time.
     (j) Attach the hydraulic pipe (6) to the structure with the washers (9) and the bolts (8).
       1 Tighten the bolts (8).
     (k) Attach the hydraulic pipe (2) to the structure with the washers (11) and the bolts (10).
       1 Tighten the bolts (10).
     (l) Connect the hydraulic pipe (6) to the pylon manifold.
     (m) Install a WRENCH - CROWFOOT on the flats of the pylon manifold to hold it and tighten the hydraulic pipe (6).
     (n) Connect the hydraulic pipe (2) to the hydraulic hose (37).
     (o) Hold the hydraulic hose (37) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and tighten the hydraulic pipe (2) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-21-12-911-001).
     (p) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
     (q) Tighten the bolts (13) and (15).
     (r) Tighten the nuts (31).
     (s) Tighten the bolts (29) and (32).
   (8) Installation of the hydraulic pipes (1) and (7):
     (a) Connect the hydraulic pipe (7) to the hydraulic pipe (2).
     (b) Tighten the hydraulic pipe (7) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-21-12-911-001).
     (c) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
     (d) Connect the hydraulic pipe (1) to the hydraulic pipe (6).
     (e) Tighten the hydraulic pipe (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-21-12-911-001).
     (f) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
     (g) Connect the hydraulic pipes (1) and (7) to the pylon fuel-hydraulic panel (69).
     (h) Tighten the hydraulic pipes (1) and (7) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-21-12-911-001).
     (i) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
Subtask 29-13-49-420-117-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Installation of the Aft Pressure/Suction/Case Drain/Return Piping of the Yellow Hydraulic System in the Engine Pylon
CAUTION: USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
  • ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
  • ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
THIS PREVENTS DAMAGE TO THE PARTS.
   (1) Make sure that the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is in position below the hydraulic lines.
   (2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (4) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING from the line ends.
   (5) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
   (6) Installation of the hydraulic hose (37):
     (a) Put the hydraulic hose (37) in position.
     (b) Connect the hydraulic hose (37) to the pylon/wing interface.
     (c) Tighten the hydraulic hose (37) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-21-12-911-001).
     (d) Make sure that clearance J1 between the bracket and the hydraulic hose (37)is a minimum of 10 mm (0.39 in.).
     (e) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
   (7) Install the support (70) on the structure with TIE WRAP(S).
   (8) Installation of the hydraulic hose (38):
     (a) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the pylon manifold.
     (b) Put the hydraulic hose (38) in position.
     (c) Install the clamp (43) on the hydraulic hose (38).
     (d) Install the washers (44) and bolts (45).
       1 Do not tighten the bolts (45) at this time.
     (e) Connect the hydraulic hose (38) to the pylon/wing interface.
     (f) Tighten the hydraulic hose (38) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-21-12-911-001).
     (g) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
     (h) Connect the hydraulic hose (38) to the pylon manifold.
     (i) Install a WRENCH - CROWFOOT on the flats of the pylon manifold to hold it and tighten the hydraulic hose (38).
     (j) Tighten the bolt (45).
     (k) Installation of the supports (70) and (71):
       1 Remove the TIE WRAP(S) from the support (70).
       2 Put the support (71) in position.
       3 Install the washers (73) and bolts (72).
       4 Tighten the bolts (72).
   (9) Installation of the hydraulic hose (39):
     (a) Put the hydraulic hose (39) in position.
     (b) Install the clamp (40) on the hydraulic hose (39).
     (c) Install the clamp (40), washer (41) and bolt (42).
       1 Do not tighten the bolt (42) at this time.
     (d) Connect the hydraulic hose (39) to the pylon/wing interface.
     (e) Tighten the the hydraulic hose (39) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-21-12-911-001).
     (f) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
     (g) Tighten the bolt (42).
   (10) Installation of the hydraulic pipe (36):
     (a) Put the hydraulic pipe (36) in position.
     (b) Install the clamp (49) on the hydraulic pipe (36).
     (c) Install the washers (50) and bolts (51).
       1 Do not tighten the bolts (51) at this time.
     (d) Install the clamp (46) on the hydraulic pipe (36).
     (e) Install the washers (47) and bolts (48).
       1 Do not tighten the bolts (48) at this time.
     (f) Install the clamp block (54) on the hydraulic pipe (36).
     (g) Install the washers (53) and bolts (52) and nuts (55).
       1 Do not tighten the nuts (55) at this time.
     (h) Connect the hydraulic pipe (36) to the pylon/wing interface.
     (i) Tighten the hydraulic pipe (36) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-21-12-911-001).
     (j) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
     (k) Tighten the bolts (51) and (48).
     (l) Tighten the nuts (55).

   (1) Install the fire extinguisher bottles (Ref. AMM TASK 26-21-41-400-001).

   (3) On the lower ECAM DU, on the HYD page:
  • Make sure that the fire shutoff valve (3046GD) is open.

   (1) Do the operational test of the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-00-710-002).
   (2) After the dry-motoring, make sure that there are no leaks on the hydraulic connections.
   (3) Do the bleeding procedure of the Yellow hydraulic system downstream of the engine pump (after maintenance) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-870-007).
   (4) Do the operational test of the thrust reverser with MCDU (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-805).
   (5) Do the EIS stop procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).

   (4) Remove the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the hydraulic lines.
