Subtask 54-54-00-941-066-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that you did the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).
(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position:
(a) For the left pylon, in zone 470
(b) For the right pylon, in zone 480.
Subtask 54-54-00-040-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that you did the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).
(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position:
(a) For the left pylon, in zone 470
(b) For the right pylon, in zone 480.
B. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
Subtask 54-54-00-110-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.
(1) Make sure that the thrust reverser is unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). C. Preparation for Installation
(1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2) Make sure that the sealants are removed from the RPF rib (3) and the Y-stopper fitting (4).
(3) If they are not sufficiently clean, clean the RPF rib (3) and the Y-stopper fitting (4) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2) Make sure that the sealants are removed from the RPF rib (3) and the Y-stopper fitting (4).
(3) If they are not sufficiently clean, clean the RPF rib (3) and the Y-stopper fitting (4) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
Subtask 54-54-00-420-074-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Rear Pylon Fairing (RPF)
(2) Put and hold the RPF (5) in position.
(3) Make sure that the seal position is correct on the RPF (5).
(4) Install the screws (8).
(5) Install the washers (6) on the bolts (7).
(6) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area Chromate Free - (Material No.06LCB1) on the shanks of the bolts (7).
(7) Install the bolts (7) and tighten them.
(8) When you install the screws (9), do the electrical bonding at the applicable location (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(9) Install the screws (9).
(10) Tighten the screws (9) and (8).
(11) Put and hold the gutter (1) in its installation position.
(12) When you install the screws (2), do the electrical bonding at the applicable location (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(13) Install the screws (2) and tighten them.
(14) Measure the surface electrical resistance of the installed RPF assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-720-011) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-720-011).
Subtask 54-54-00-420-075-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU INSTALL EACH OF THE SCREWS IN ITS CORRECT POSITION. THE SCREWS HAVE DIFFERENT LENGTHS. IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL EACH OF THE SCREWS IN ITS CORRECT POSITION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(1) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) between the RPF rib (3) and the Y-stopper fitting (4). (2) Put and hold the RPF (5) in position.
(3) Make sure that the seal position is correct on the RPF (5).
(4) Install the screws (8).
(5) Install the washers (6) on the bolts (7).
(6) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area Chromate Free - (Material No.06LCB1) on the shanks of the bolts (7).
(7) Install the bolts (7) and tighten them.
(8) When you install the screws (9), do the electrical bonding at the applicable location (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(9) Install the screws (9).
(10) Tighten the screws (9) and (8).
(11) Put and hold the gutter (1) in its installation position.
(12) When you install the screws (2), do the electrical bonding at the applicable location (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(13) Install the screws (2) and tighten them.
(14) Measure the surface electrical resistance of the installed RPF assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-720-011) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-720-011).
B. Installation of the Component
(1) Install the closing sheet metal (Ref. AMM TASK 54-54-00-400-804).

C. Check of the Clearances
(1) Make sure that peripheral clearance J1 between the RPF (1) and the gutter (2) is 4 +1.4 mm or -1.4 mm (0.1575 +0.0551 in. or -0.0551 in.).
(2) Make sure that peripheral clearance J2 between the RPF (1) and the closing sheet metal (3) is 3.6 +2 mm or -2 mm (0.1417 +0.0787 in. or -0.0787 in.).
(3) Make sure that peripheral clearance J3 between the RPF (1) and the closing sheet metal (3) is 3.6 +2 mm or -2 mm (0.1417 +0.0787 in. or -0.0787 in.).
(4) Make sure that peripheral clearance J4 between the RPF (1) and the pylon box (4) is 5 +2 mm or -2 mm (0.1969 +0.0787 in. or -0.0787 in.).
(5) Make sure that out-of-flush dimension A1 between the RPF (1) and the gutter (2) is 0 -0.12 mm or -1.02 mm (0.0000 -0.0047 in. or -0.0402 in.).
(6) Make sure that out-of-flush dimension A2 between the RPF (1) and the closing sheet metal (3) is 0 +0.6 mm or -0.6 mm (0.0000 +0.0236 in. or -0.0236 in.).
(7) Make sure that out-of-flush dimension A3 between the RPF (1) and the closing sheet metal (3) is -1.1 +0.6 mm or -0.6 mm (-0.0433 +0.0236 in. or -0.0236 in.).
(8) Make sure that out-of-flush dimension A4 between the RPF (1) and the pylon box (4) is -0.5 +0.7 mm or -0.7 mm (-0.0197 +0.0276 in. or -0.0276 in.).
5. Close-up(1) Make sure that peripheral clearance J1 between the RPF (1) and the gutter (2) is 4 +1.4 mm or -1.4 mm (0.1575 +0.0551 in. or -0.0551 in.).
(2) Make sure that peripheral clearance J2 between the RPF (1) and the closing sheet metal (3) is 3.6 +2 mm or -2 mm (0.1417 +0.0787 in. or -0.0787 in.).
(3) Make sure that peripheral clearance J3 between the RPF (1) and the closing sheet metal (3) is 3.6 +2 mm or -2 mm (0.1417 +0.0787 in. or -0.0787 in.).
(4) Make sure that peripheral clearance J4 between the RPF (1) and the pylon box (4) is 5 +2 mm or -2 mm (0.1969 +0.0787 in. or -0.0787 in.).
(5) Make sure that out-of-flush dimension A1 between the RPF (1) and the gutter (2) is 0 -0.12 mm or -1.02 mm (0.0000 -0.0047 in. or -0.0402 in.).
(6) Make sure that out-of-flush dimension A2 between the RPF (1) and the closing sheet metal (3) is 0 +0.6 mm or -0.6 mm (0.0000 +0.0236 in. or -0.0236 in.).
(7) Make sure that out-of-flush dimension A3 between the RPF (1) and the closing sheet metal (3) is -1.1 +0.6 mm or -0.6 mm (-0.0433 +0.0236 in. or -0.0236 in.).
(8) Make sure that out-of-flush dimension A4 between the RPF (1) and the pylon box (4) is -0.5 +0.7 mm or -0.7 mm (-0.0197 +0.0276 in. or -0.0276 in.).

B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
