Removal of the Rear Pylon Fairing (RPF)

B. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
Subtask 54-54-00-010-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.
(1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). C. Get Access
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
(a) For the left pylon, in zone 470
(b) For the right pylon, in zone 480.

A. Removal of the Rear Pylon Fairing (RPF)
(2) Remove the screws (2).
(3) Lower the gutter (1) to remove it.
(4) Hold the RPF (5).
(5) Remove the bolts (7) and the washers (6).
(6) Remove the screws (8) and (9).
(7) Remove the RPF (5).
(8) Remove the sealants from the RPF rib (3) and from the Y-stopper fitting (4) with SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
CAUTION:
WHEN YOU REMOVE THE SCREWS, MAKE SURE THAT YOU RECORD THE CORRECT POSITION OF EACH OF THEM. THE SCREWS HAVE DIFFERENT LENGTHS.
(1) Hold the gutter (1). (2) Remove the screws (2).
(3) Lower the gutter (1) to remove it.
(4) Hold the RPF (5).
(5) Remove the bolts (7) and the washers (6).
(6) Remove the screws (8) and (9).
(7) Remove the RPF (5).
(8) Remove the sealants from the RPF rib (3) and from the Y-stopper fitting (4) with SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
