A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
WARNING: OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
   (1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
   (2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
  • In the cockpit on the hydraulic section 40VU of the overhead panel
  • On the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic system.
   (3) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (4) Make sure that the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (5) Make sure that the access door 197CB is open.
   (6) Make sure that the LH main door of the main gear is open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
   (7) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position.
   (8) Make sure that the CONTAINER 4 L (1 USGAL) is in position below the connections of the HP manifold.
   (9) Make sure that the isolation coupling of the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).

4. Procedure
Subtask 29-11-14-560-050-C
A. Preparation of the Replacement Component
   (1) Remove the components which are attached to the removed HP manifold as follows:
     (a) Remove the bolts (41) and the washers (42) at the pressure transducer 1065GN.
     (b) Discard the O-ring (44).
     (c) Remove the system pressure switch 1151GN (Ref. AMM TASK 29-32-12-000-001).
     (d) Remove the flight-control pressure switch 10CE-2 (Ref. AMM TASK 27-92-17-000-001).
     (e) Remove the fluid sampling valve 1187GM (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-34-000-001).
     (f) Remove the check valve 1022GM as follows:
       1 Loosen the check valve 1022GM and remove it.
       2 Remove and discard the O-ring (19).
NOTE: These components are hydraulically attached to the HP manifold with bobbins:
  • The HP filter 1048GM
  • The relief valve 1063GM
     (g) Remove the relief valve 1063GM (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-32-000-001).
     (h) Remove the HP filter 1048GM as follows:
       1 Hold the HP filter 1048GM and remove the bolts (30), (31) and the washers (32).
       2 Remove the HP filter 1048GM from the manifold (13).
   (2) Remove the four bobbins (10), (34) from the manifold (13) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-21-911-001).
   (3) Remove and discard these items from the bobbins (10) and (34):
  • the O-rings (65) and (66)
  • the square-section seals (11) and (35)
  • The back-up rings (63), (64), (67) and (33).
   (4) Put the bobbins into a BAG - PLASTIC to keep them clean.
   (5) Install the PLUG - BLANKING in the open ports of the manifold (13) and all of the removed components.
   (6) Install the removed components on the replacement manifold (13) as follows:
NOTE: If the replacement manifold (13) was not installed before, then you must install the threaded inserts (14) and the cylindrical pin (12).
     (a) Remove the blanking plugs from the ports of the manifold (13) and the components.
     (b) Apply the Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the new O-rings, square-section seals, back-up rings and the threads of the unions.
     (c) Put the two new AIPC 29-11-14-02-270 BACK-UP RINGS (63) in position on the sides of the bobbins (10) without the identification grooves (equipment side).
     (d) Put the two new
AIPC 29-11-14-02-280 SQUARE-SECTION SEALS (11) in position on the sides of the bobbins (10) without the identification grooves (equipment side).
     (e) Put the two new
AIPC 29-11-14-02-260 BACK-UP RINGS (64) in position on the sides of the bobbins (10) with the identification grooves (manifold side).
     (f) Put the two new
AIPC 29-11-14-02-250 O-RINGS (65) in position on the sides of the bobbins (10) with the identification grooves (manifold side).
     (g) Install the two new bobbins (10) with the identification grooves in the ports of the manifold (13) (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-21-911-001).
     (h) Put the new AIPC 29-11-14-02-270 BACK-UP RINGS (33) in position on the sides of the bobbins (34) without the identification grooves (equipment side).
     (i) Put the new
AIPC 29-11-14-02-280 SQUARE-SECTION SEALS (35) in position on the sides of the bobbins (34) without the identification grooves (equipment side).
     (j) Put the new
AIPC 29-11-14-02-260 BACK-UP RINGS (67) in position on the sides of the bobbins (34) with the identification grooves (manifold side).
     (k) Put the new
AIPC 29-11-14-02-250 O-RINGS (66) in position on the sides of the bobbins (34) with the identification grooves (manifold side).
     (l) Install the two bobbins (34) with the identification grooves in the ports of the manifold (13) (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-21-911-001).
     (m) Apply the Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the threads of the components.
     (n) Install the check valve 1022GM as follows:
       1 Put the new AIPC 29-11-14-02-060 O-RING (19) in position on the check valve 1022GM.
       2 Install the check valve 1022GM in port E of the manifold (13).
         a TORQUE the check valve 1022GM to between 14.2 and 12.9 m.daN (104.72 and 95.13 lbf.ft )
T.
     (o) Install the fluid sampling valve 1187GM (
Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-34-400-001).
     (p) Install the system pressure switch 1151GN (Ref. AMM TASK 29-32-12-400-001).
     (q) Install the flight-control pressure switch 10CE-2 (Ref. AMM TASK 27-92-17-400-001).
     (r) Install the relief valve 1063GM (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-32-400-001).
     (s) Install the HP filter 1048GM on the manifold (13) and install the bolts (30), (31) and the washers (32).
     (t) TORQUE the bolts (30), (31) to between 1.8 and 1.6 m.daN (13.27 and 11.80 lbf.ft ) T.
     (u) Put the new
AIPC 29-32-11-02-010 O-RING (44) in position and install the pressure transducer 1065GN, the washers (42) and the bolts (41).
     (v) Tighten the bolts (41).
Subtask 29-11-14-420-051-C
B. Installation of the Manifold
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.
CAUTION: YOU MUST INSTALL HYDRAULIC TUBES WITH HYDRAULIC FLUID AS LUBRICANT.
   (1) Obey the instruction of the installation of the hydraulic tubes (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-11-911-001).
   (2) Remove the sealant from the mating surface of the manifold (13) and the aircraft structure with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
   (3) Examine the structure of the aircraft in the area of the manifold attachment for cracks, corrosion or other damage.
   (4) Apply a layer of Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) to the mating surface of the manifold (13).
   (5) Remove the blanking plugs from the pipe connections.
   (6) Put the manifold (13) in position on the aircraft.
   (7) Install the five bolts (15) and the washers (16).
   (8) Tighten the bolts (15).
   (9) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
   (10) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the threads of the pipe end-fittings.
   (11) Connect the pipe (1) to the union (3).
   (12) TORQUE the pipe end-fitting (2) to between 14.2 and 12.9 m.daN (104.72 and 95.13 lbf.ft ) T.
   (13) Connect the pipe (24) to the union (26).
   (14) TORQUE the pipe end-fitting (25) to between 8.3 and 7.5 m.daN (61.21 and 55.31 lbf.ft )
T.
   (15) Connect the pipe (17) to the check valve 1022GM.
   (16) TORQUE the pipe end-fitting (18) to between 14.2 and 12.9 m.daN (104.72 and 95.13 lbf.ft )
T.
   (17) Connect the pipe (20) to the union (22).
   (18) TORQUE the pipe end-fitting (21) to between 10.7 and 9.7 m.daN (78.91 and 71.53 lbf.ft )
T.
   (19) Connect the pipe (51) to the Green power accumulator 1070GM but do not tighten the pipe end-fitting (47).
   (20) Connect the pipe (51) to the union (53) but do not tighten the pipe end-fitting (52).
   (21) Put the P-clip (49) in position on the pipe (51) and install the bolt (48) and the nut (50) but do not tighten the nut (50).
   (22) TORQUE the two pipe end-fittings (47) and (52) to between 10.7 and 9.7 m.daN (78.91 and 71.53 lbf.ft )
T.
   (23) Make a mark on each pipe end-fitting after you apply the standard or specific tightening torque value (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
   (24) Tighten the nut (50).
   (25) Connect the bonding strap (39) to the structural attachment and install the bolt (37), the nut (40) and the washer (38).
   (26) Tighten the nut (40).
   (27) Seal the connection of the bonding strap (39) with Polysulfide Sealant_General Purpose Brushable - (Material No.06AAA1) .
   (28) Apply Coating_- Flexible Structure (Material No.04QAB2) (dyed blue) to the sealant.
   (29) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors.
   (30) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE BONDING STRAP(S) IS(ARE) CONNECTED BEFORE YOU CONNECT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR(S).
   (31) Connect the electrical connectors (5), (36), (45) and (46) to the receptacles.

D. Preparation for Test
   (1) Make sure that the fluid level in the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system is correct. Add fluid as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-002).
   (2) Pressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
   (3) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (4) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (5) Make sure that the HYD page on the system (lower) display comes on.

E. Do this test.
ACTION
RESULT
1.Pressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001).

2.Examine the HP manifold and the pipe connections for leaks.
No leaks.
3.Compare the hydraulic pressure indication on the ECAM system (lower) display with the indication on the pressure gage 1072GM of the Green power accumulator.
The digital pressure indication agrees with the indication on the pressure gage 1072GM.
4.On the panel 50VU:
  • Lift the guard and set the HYD/LEAK MEASUREMENT VALVES/G pushbutton switch (P/BSW) to OFF.
On the panel 50VU:
  • The OFF legend of the HYD/LEAK MEASUREMENT VALVES/G P/BSW comes on.
On the lower display unit (DU) of the ECAM:
  • The flow arrow and system name of the Green system change color to amber.
5.On the panel 50VU:
  • Set the HYD/LEAK MEASUREMENT VALVES/G P/BSW to on.
On the panel 50VU:
  • The OFF legend of the G HYD LEAK MEASUREMENT P/BSW goes off.
On the ECAM lower DU:
  • The color of the Green system flow arrow changes to green and the color of the system name changes to white.
NOTE: When you set the P/BSW to on, the ECAM lower DU can change to the ELEC page. Also the single chime audio warning and the MASTER CAUT light operate. You can ignore these indications. Cancel the MASTER CAUT light and set the HYD page on the ECAM lower DU to find the hydraulic indications.
6.Control the hydraulic supply to reduce the Green system pressure. Compare the indication of the ECAM system display with the indication on the pressure gage 1072GM.
The ECAM pressure indication agrees with the indication on the pressure gage 1072GM.

B. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
   (1) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
   (2) Connect the isolation coupling of the power transfer unit (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-002).
   (3) Make sure that the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system is pressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
   (4) Make sure that the fluid level in the Green hydraulic system is correct. Add fluid as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-002).
   (5) Do the EIS stop procedure
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
   (6) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
   (7) Remove the container from below the HP manifold.
   (8) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (9) Remove the access platform(s).

C. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the main door of the main gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
   (3) Close the access door 197CB.
