Installation of the Hydraulic Tubes
WARNING:
OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
1. Reason for the JobNOTE: If a tube made of titanium (TI 3Al 2.5V) (ABS5004) is not available, you can use a tube made of corrosion resistant steel (21.6.9) (ASNA3288). It is important to record the weight penalty.
NOTE: When you move the tubes to the work station, you must obey the necessary precautions to prevent deterioration.

(4) Make sure that the rubber linings of the line clamps are in good condition and correctly installed in the clamps.
B. Installation of the Tubing
(1) Make sure that all the equipment items that you must connect are in the correct position. This is to make sure that it will not be necessary to remove the tubing subsequently.
(2) Make sure that you flush the lines before the installation and that the threads of the fittings are in the correct condition.
(3) Make sure that the tubing ends, the sleeves and the unions are in the correct condition.
(5) Put the tubing in position.
(6) Make sure that there is a minimum distance between the tube and the parts that can or cannot move and the other tubes.
1 Wind a spiral strip NSA849000 around the tube.
2 Install a cable tie NSA935401 at each end of the spiral strip.
(b) If necessary, install lacing tape NSA8420 on the tube.
1 Attach the lines with lacing tape14RAD1 Cord-- Synthetic fiber Dia: 2.5 mm - .
2 Complete the lacing with a reef knot. Tighten the knot.
3 Apply Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) on the knot and the ends of the lacing tape.
(7) Make sure that the electrical bondings are correct (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(8) TORQUE the connections to the applicable values (Ref. AMM TASK 20-21-12-911-001).
(9) Make sure that the pipe has protection from vibrations and chafing (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-14-910-001).
(10) Make a mark on each union after you apply the standard or special tightening torque value (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
5. Close-up(1) Make sure that all the equipment items that you must connect are in the correct position. This is to make sure that it will not be necessary to remove the tubing subsequently.
(2) Make sure that you flush the lines before the installation and that the threads of the fittings are in the correct condition.
(3) Make sure that the tubing ends, the sleeves and the unions are in the correct condition.
NOTE: It is necessary to discard tubes that have indentations with a depth of more than 0.05 mm (0.0020 in.). Two causes are possible for these indentations:
(4) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) or Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) or Grease-Hydraulic Systems - - (Material No.03LDA1) to the threads of the fitting of the hydraulic line. - A torque value that was too high during the installation,
- Too many installations and removals.
(5) Put the tubing in position.
(6) Make sure that there is a minimum distance between the tube and the parts that can or cannot move and the other tubes.
- If you cannot get the standard minimum distance, refer to the maintenance procedure or the installation drawing of the equipment to know if a specified minimum distance is applicable. It is necessary to obey this specified minimum distance.
NOTE: To measure the minimum distance between a tube and a part that can move, it is necessary to measure the distance in a condition where the movement decreases the distance to its smallest value.
(a) If necessary, install a spiral strip. 1 Wind a spiral strip NSA849000 around the tube.
2 Install a cable tie NSA935401 at each end of the spiral strip.
