A. Minimum Distances Necessary to Prevent Chafing of Hydraulic Rigid Pipes/Flexible Hoses
Subtask 20-23-14-910-052-A NOTE: Definition of rigid pipe/flexible hose routings:
Rigid pipe/flexible hose routings are a set of rigid pipes/flexible hoses which are parallel and part of the same system. For hydraulic rigid pipes, they also have the same system color code.
Usually the pipes in different routing are not parallel (example: crossing) or they can be from different hydraulic systems (different color code).
(1) Rigid pipes and flexible hoses must not touch other rigid pipes/flexible hoses or adjacent components.
NOTE: It is permitted for hydraulic flexible hoses that have blue textile anti-abrasion-sheaths to touch each other.
(2) The standard minimum distances that you must obey for rigid pipe/flexible hose routings are specified in this document.- If you cannot get the standard minimum distance, refer to the maintenance procedure or the installation drawing of the equipment to know if a specified minimum distance is applicable. It is necessary to obey this specified minimum distance.
- Measure the distance in the condition where the movement decreases the distance to its smallest value.
B. Protection from Vibration and Chafing for Hydraulic Rigid Pipes
(2) If a spacer is missing, we recommend that you replace it with a pair of P-clamps NSA5516/ABS0975 or with lacing tape (P-clamps give the best protection from vibration).
(3) It is not permitted to attach hydraulic rigid pipes (with lacing tape, bumpers, spacers and clamps) to pipes of other systems (air, fuel, water, etc.) or electrical harnesses.
(4) To identify the location where you will attach the hydraulic rigid pipes (with lacing tape, bumpers, spacers and clamps), you can use:
(a) Clean the location of tying with Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(b) Make the identification mark with identification tape ABS0653-05 or NSA0144-4 or with Varnish Polyurethane-- Marking Structure (Material No.04SAB2) on one rigid pipe (the largest rigid pipe if possible) only. If you select Varnish Polyurethane-- Marking Structure (Material No.04SAB2) , we recommend that you apply the identification mark after installation of the lacing tape.
(c) Apply a layer of Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) on one of the outer rigid pipes on which you will not put an identification mark.
(d) Attach the rigid pipes with lacing tape14RAD1 Cord-- Synthetic fiber Dia: 2.5 mm - on the adhesive sealant.
(e) Install the lacing tape between the pipes to keep the distance between the pipes constant.
(f) Complete the lacing with a reef knot. Tighten the knot.
(g) Apply Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) on the reef knot and the ends of the lacing tape.
(h) Make the identification mark with Varnish Polyurethane-- Marking Structure (Material No.04SAB2) if you selected it and did not make the mark before.
