Removal of the Fuel Nozzles
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE AFTER SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE CAN STAY HOT FOR A LONG TIME. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, INJURY CAN OCCUR.

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION:
DO NOT LET ENGINE FUEL OR OIL FALL ON THE ENGINE. YOU MUST IMMEDIATELY REMOVE UNWANTED FUEL OR OIL WITH A CLOTH. THE FUEL OR OIL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO SOME ENGINE PARTS.

(1) Remove the air starter (Ref. AMM TASK 80-11-01-000-801).
(2) Remove environmental control system ducts to access the oil manifold as necessary.
(3) Remove the oil manifold and components as follows:
(a) Remove the wiring harness (WC05) (Ref. AMM TASK 77-21-61-000-802).
(b) Disconnect the wiring harness (WC11) at the P37 and P68 connections (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-70-000-802).
(c) Remove the exhaust ducts (AD01) and (AD02) (Ref. AMM TASK 79-21-11-000-802).
(d) Remove the AC generator oil/oil heat exchanger (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-42-000-803).
(e) Remove the fuel/oil heat exchanger (Ref. AMM TASK 79-21-08-000-801).
(f) Remove the fuel return tank valve (Ref. AMM TASK 73-13-03-000-801).
(g) Remove the AC generator fuel/oil heat exchanger (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-42-000-802).
(h) Remove the AC generator fuel/oil differential pressure sensor (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-42-000-804).
(i) Remove the oil breather tube (LB60) (Ref. AMM TASK 79-23-49-000-802).
(j) Remove the manifold (LR40) (1) as follows:
2 Disconnect the manifold (LR40) (1) from the tube (LR111) B-nut.
3 Remove the bolt (5) from the clamp (4) and remove the manifold (LR40) (1) and seal (3).
4 Remove the bolt (5), washer (6) and bracket (7).
(k) Remove the tube (LP56) (20) from the air oil heater exchanger as follows:
1 Remove the three bolts (17) and (23) and brackets (18) and (22) from the tube (LP56) (20).
2 Remove the tube (LP56) (20) and two seals (19).
(l) Remove the tubes (LP52) and (LP50) (Ref. AMM TASK 79-21-02-000-801).
(m) Remove the oil manifold (19) as follows:
1 Remove the ten bolts (38) and brackets (39) and (37) from the bracket (36). See Sheet 1 of the figure:
2 Remove the eight bolts (33) and oil manifold (19) from the clevis (34) and bracket (35).
3 Remove the two nuts (51), two bolts (49), two bushings (52), connecting link (50) and clevis (34) from the clevis. See Sheet 2 of the figure:
4 Remove the nut (53), bolt (54), pin (55) and bracket (35) from the clevis.
5 Remove the four bolts (56) and bracket (36) from the bracket (57).

(8) Remove the fuel nozzle supply tubes (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-49-000-803).
(9) Remove the Integrated Drive Generator (IDG) if necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-000-803).
(10) Remove the buffer air heat exchanger if necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 75-26-01-000-801).
(11) Remove the fuel nozzles as follows:
(a) Find and mark the notch located at the top (12 o'clock) position on the diffuser case with aP05-423 PMC 4050-20 marker, fine tip, rapid drying .
(b) Use a CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) and lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) to collect fuel leakage when you remove the fuel supply tubes and nozzles.

2 Remove the No. 7 fuel nozzle (133) and discard the gasket (111).
3 Remove the three bolts (109) and bracket (156) from the No. 8 fuel nozzle (133).
4 Remove the No. 8 fuel nozzle (133) and discard the gasket (111).
5 Remove the three bolts (109) from the No. 9 fuel nozzle (133).

(i) Remove the four bolts (167), four washers (166) and heat shield (168) from the four diffuser case brackets.
(j) Remove the No. 10 and No. 11 fuel nozzles (133) as follows:

2 Remove the No. 10 fuel nozzle (133) and discard the gasket (111).
3 Remove the three bolts (109) from the No. 11 fuel nozzle (133).
4 Remove the No. 11 fuel nozzle (133) and discard the gasket (111).
(k) Remove the No. 12 and No. 13 fuel nozzles (122) as follows:
1 Remove the three bolts (109) from the No. 12 fuel nozzle (122).
2 Remove the No. 12 fuel nozzle (122) and discard the gasket (111).
3 Remove the three bolts (109) from the No. 13 fuel nozzle (122).
4 Remove the No. 13 fuel nozzle (122) and discard the gasket (111).
(l) Remove the air duct (AD02) (182) from the air/oil heat exchanger as follows:
1 Remove the 14 bolts (181), eight spacers (180) and five washers (183) from the air duct (AD02) (182).
2 Remove the two bolts (179) and nuts (178) from the connecting links.
3 Remove the air duct (AD02) (182) from the air/oil heat exchanger.
(m) Remove the No. 14 fuel nozzle (122) as follows:
1 Remove the bolt (193) from the clamp that attaches the tube (DR121) to the bracket (192).
2 Remove the three bolts (109) and bracket (192) from the No. 14 fuel nozzle (122).
3 Remove the No. 14 fuel nozzle (122) and discard the gasket (111).
(n) Remove the No. 15, No. 16 and No. 17 fuel nozzles (108) as follows:
1 Remove the three bolts (109) from the No. 15 fuel nozzle (108).
2 Remove the No. 15 fuel nozzle (108) and discard the gasket (111).
3 Remove the three bolts (109) from the No. 16 fuel nozzle (108).
4 Remove the No. 16 fuel nozzle (108) and discard the gasket (111).
5 Remove the bolt (204) from the clamp that attaches the tube (DR122) to the bracket (203).
6 Remove the three bolts (109) and bracket (203) from the No. 17 fuel nozzle (108).
7 Remove the No. 17 fuel nozzle (108) and discard the gasket (111).
(12) Installation of the protection covers:
(1) Remove the air starter (Ref. AMM TASK 80-11-01-000-801).
(2) Remove environmental control system ducts to access the oil manifold as necessary.
(3) Remove the oil manifold and components as follows:
(a) Remove the wiring harness (WC05) (Ref. AMM TASK 77-21-61-000-802).
(b) Disconnect the wiring harness (WC11) at the P37 and P68 connections (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-70-000-802).
(c) Remove the exhaust ducts (AD01) and (AD02) (Ref. AMM TASK 79-21-11-000-802).
(d) Remove the AC generator oil/oil heat exchanger (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-42-000-803).
(e) Remove the fuel/oil heat exchanger (Ref. AMM TASK 79-21-08-000-801).
(f) Remove the fuel return tank valve (Ref. AMM TASK 73-13-03-000-801).
(g) Remove the AC generator fuel/oil heat exchanger (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-42-000-802).
(h) Remove the AC generator fuel/oil differential pressure sensor (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-42-000-804).
(i) Remove the oil breather tube (LB60) (Ref. AMM TASK 79-23-49-000-802).
(j) Remove the manifold (LR40) (1) as follows:
CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO HOLD THE MATING PARTS WHEN YOU LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE TUBE OR HOSE NUTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS CAUTION, YOU CAN TWIST OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TUBES OR HOSES.
1 Remove the three bolts (2) from the manifold (LR40) (1). 2 Disconnect the manifold (LR40) (1) from the tube (LR111) B-nut.
3 Remove the bolt (5) from the clamp (4) and remove the manifold (LR40) (1) and seal (3).
4 Remove the bolt (5), washer (6) and bracket (7).
(k) Remove the tube (LP56) (20) from the air oil heater exchanger as follows:
1 Remove the three bolts (17) and (23) and brackets (18) and (22) from the tube (LP56) (20).
2 Remove the tube (LP56) (20) and two seals (19).
(l) Remove the tubes (LP52) and (LP50) (Ref. AMM TASK 79-21-02-000-801).
(m) Remove the oil manifold (19) as follows:
1 Remove the ten bolts (38) and brackets (39) and (37) from the bracket (36). See Sheet 1 of the figure:

3 Remove the three bolts (109) and bracket (112) from the No. 1 fuel nozzle (108).
4 Remove the No. 1 fuel nozzle (108) and discard the gasket (111).
5 Remove the three bolts (109) and bracket (110) from the No. 2 fuel nozzle (108).
6 Remove the No. 2 fuel nozzle (108) and discard the gasket (111).

(e) Remove the No. 3 and No. 4 fuel nozzles (122) as follows:
1 Remove the three bolts (109) from the No. 3 fuel nozzle (122).
2 Remove the No. 3 fuel nozzle (122) and discard the gasket (111).
3 Remove the three bolts (109) from the No. 4 fuel nozzle (122).
4 Remove the No. 4 fuel nozzle (122) and discard the gasket (111).
(f) Remove the No. 5 fuel nozzle (122) and No. 6 fuel nozzle (133) as follows:
1 Remove the three bolts (109) from the bracket (132) and the No. 5 fuel nozzle (122).
2 Remove the bolt (109) from the bracket (132) and No. 6 fuel nozzle (133).
3 Remove the bracket (132) from the No. 5 fuel nozzle (122) and No. 6 fuel nozzle (133).
4 Remove the No. 5 fuel nozzle (122) and discard the gasket (111).
5 Remove the two remaining bolts (109) from the No. 6 fuel nozzle (133).
6 Remove the No. 6 fuel nozzle (133) and discard the gasket (111).
(g) Remove the two bolts (145), bolt (143) and clamp (144) from the tubes (LR46) and (AP01).
(h) Remove the No. 7, No. 8 and No. 9 fuel nozzles (133) as follows:
1 Remove the three bolts (109) and bracket (155) from the No. 7 fuel nozzle (133).
2 Remove the No. 7 fuel nozzle (133) and discard the gasket (111).
3 Remove the three bolts (109) and bracket (156) from the No. 8 fuel nozzle (133).
4 Remove the No. 8 fuel nozzle (133) and discard the gasket (111).
5 Remove the three bolts (109) from the No. 9 fuel nozzle (133).
6 Remove the No. 9 fuel nozzle (133) and discard the gasket (111).
(i) Remove the four bolts (167), four washers (166) and heat shield (168) from the four diffuser case brackets.
(j) Remove the No. 10 and No. 11 fuel nozzles (133) as follows:
1 Remove the three bolts (109) from the No. 10 fuel nozzle (133).
2 Remove the No. 10 fuel nozzle (133) and discard the gasket (111).
3 Remove the three bolts (109) from the No. 11 fuel nozzle (133).
4 Remove the No. 11 fuel nozzle (133) and discard the gasket (111).
(k) Remove the No. 12 and No. 13 fuel nozzles (122) as follows:
1 Remove the three bolts (109) from the No. 12 fuel nozzle (122).
2 Remove the No. 12 fuel nozzle (122) and discard the gasket (111).
3 Remove the three bolts (109) from the No. 13 fuel nozzle (122).
4 Remove the No. 13 fuel nozzle (122) and discard the gasket (111).
(l) Remove the air duct (AD02) (182) from the air/oil heat exchanger as follows:
1 Remove the 14 bolts (181), eight spacers (180) and five washers (183) from the air duct (AD02) (182).
2 Remove the two bolts (179) and nuts (178) from the connecting links.
3 Remove the air duct (AD02) (182) from the air/oil heat exchanger.
(m) Remove the No. 14 fuel nozzle (122) as follows:
1 Remove the bolt (193) from the clamp that attaches the tube (DR121) to the bracket (192).
2 Remove the three bolts (109) and bracket (192) from the No. 14 fuel nozzle (122).
3 Remove the No. 14 fuel nozzle (122) and discard the gasket (111).
(n) Remove the No. 15, No. 16 and No. 17 fuel nozzles (108) as follows:
1 Remove the three bolts (109) from the No. 15 fuel nozzle (108).
2 Remove the No. 15 fuel nozzle (108) and discard the gasket (111).
3 Remove the three bolts (109) from the No. 16 fuel nozzle (108).
4 Remove the No. 16 fuel nozzle (108) and discard the gasket (111).
5 Remove the bolt (204) from the clamp that attaches the tube (DR122) to the bracket (203).
6 Remove the three bolts (109) and bracket (203) from the No. 17 fuel nozzle (108).
7 Remove the No. 17 fuel nozzle (108) and discard the gasket (111).
(12) Installation of the protection covers:
CAUTION:
INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
